ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Life is full of obstacles, but we know that there is a purpose behind these

challenges. That's why we were so thankful to the following people who contributed to

the study's completion:

First and foremost, our ever-supportive teachers, who appreciate why we've

been busy, are deeply grateful to us. In particular, to our research instructor, Ms. Anna

Ruth De Guzman, whose support, advice, and assistance from the initial to the final

level allowed us to gain an understanding of the subject. To the respondents, who

collaborate and give their time to answer the questionnaires from the survey. To our

friends who make us feel better when we're tired every day, thank you.

Most importantly, without our families, none of this could have happened. Our

parents, who offered their encouragement by financially supporting us, and gives us the

ability to conduct and complete this study, and particularly for their endless love.

Above all, without our almighty Father, this research would not have been

successful. Thank you for giving us the strength to face all the challenges that we have

encountered throughout this research. Thank you also for giving us good health that we

were able to finish this research without any feeling of sickness. And thank you, most of

all, for protecting and keeping us safe.

Without your support, our study would not have been possible.

Thank you!

ii
DEDICATON

This research is dedicated to our research adviser for your inevitable guidance

and support throughout the process.

To our parents who gave us moral and emotional support and our pillars of

strength in completing this research.

To our friends and classmates, who have helped us, encouraged us and

supported us to finish this research.

And to our God Almighty for guiding us in the making of this study.

ABSTRACT

This research study talks about the influence of a game called Mobile Legends in

the academic proficiency of students who are taking the STEM strand in ICCT colleges.

It focuses in knowing the statistics of the usage frequency of the students who plays the

said mobile game while also seeking out the extent of the game’s influence in the

performance and output of the students in school.

Out of the forty (40) students that we have conducted the surveys with, that

which who plays Mobile Legends, half of them (50%) have sported an average grade

that ranges from eighty-one (81) to eighty-six (86) before they even played the game.

However, once they have played the game for a long while after installing it, the

statistics came up five (5) percent lesser than the data that we’ve accumulated at the

beginning. On the other hand, when presented with a yes or no survey, the statistics

came out in the more positive side of the paradigm. Out of the forty (40) respondents,

eighty (80) percent says that they can still focus on their studies while playing Mobile

Legends.

In accordance, while there is a five (5) percent drop in the analysis of the

consistency when it comes to the student’s grades, the majority of the students firmly

believe that it has nothing to do with them playing Mobile Legends. Which lead us in a

conclusion that one factor (in this case the Mobile Legends) cannot simply make that

big of an impact in one’s grades alone and that there is no concrete basis that playing

Mobile Legends can influence the students’ academic performance.
