I. INTRODUCTION
“Education must continue” - With the present condition of our country due to
COVID-19, teachers in the field would need resources that they can use to continue
educating our learners amidst of health crisis
The aim of this program is to enhance critical thinking of learners with the help of
Technology. Learners will be able to identify plants and animals with the help of
inaturalist application. To help learners understand and pass the Science subject,
different innovations and interventions were crafted.
Science provides ways of making sense of the world systematically. It develops
students' scientific inquiry skills, values and attitudes, such as objectivity, curiosity,
and honesty and habits of mind including critical thinking.
Under the theme, ‘Science and Technology’, the proposed curriculum integrates
local and relevant technologies and their environmental impact with science
concepts. Value formation in the context of scientific and technological activities is
included whenever appropriate.
II. ACCOMPLISHMENT
School Year 2020-2021 is a challenging and a very different year for all
Learners, Teachers and School Head. Science department of Baras Pinugay
Elementary School Annex crafted different interventions and projects to continue
education amidst the current situation of a global pandemic covid-19.
Our Objective is to support an additional means of learning in dealing with Science
Lessons in the new normal setting of Education due to Pandemic. To encourage
more learners to be active and aware of what is happening around us. To help
learners understand Science by providing them interactive activities. Also to have
the learners master the learning competencies intended in their grade level.
MASUNGI BACKYARD BIOBLITZ a competition for young explorers using the Inaturalist application.
Our school won second runner up on the said competition, Science and Masungi have same goals which
is to give awareness to young learners how important our biodiversity is.
