LEARNING ACTIVITY 2: CHAPTER 2
1. Republic Act (RA) 9155, also known as the Governance of Basic
Education Act of 2001, provides the overall framework for principal empowerment by strengthening principal and leadership goals, and local school based management within the context of transparency and local accountability.
2. RA 7796, otherwise known as the "Technical Education and Skills
Development Act of 1994", which was signed into law by President Fidel V. Ramos. Hence, a major thrust of TESDA is the formulation of a comprehensive development plan for middle-level manpower based on the National Technical Education and Skills Development Plan. The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is the government agency tasked to manage and supervise technical education and skills development (TESD) in the Philippines.
3. RA 10533, AN ACT ENHANCING THE PHILIPPINE BASIC EDUCATION
SYSTEM BY STRENGTHENING ITS CURRICULUM AND INCREASING THE NUMBER OF YEARS FOR BASIC EDUCATION, APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
4. RA 6713, AN ACT ESTABLISHING A CODE OF CONDUCT AND ETHICAL
STANDARDS FOR PUBLIC OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES, TO UPHOLD THE TIME-HONORED PRINCIPLE OF PUBLIC OFFICE BEING A PUBLIC TRUST, GRANTING INCENTIVES AND REWARDS FOR EXEMPLARY SERVICE, ENUMERATING PROHIBITED ACTS AND TRANSACTIONS AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
5. RA 7722, otherwise known as the Higher Education Act of 1994, which was signed into law on May 18, 1994. The creation of the Commission abolished the Bureau of Higher Education, and confined the jurisdiction of the Department of Education (DepEd) to elementary and secondary levels of education.
6. RA 5447, the local school board represents the state in educational matters as well as advocates for the concerns and rights of the local citizenry. Local school boards are also directly responsible for hiring school personnel, implementing programs, and evaluating the overall effectiveness of staff performance. 7.
