WE all celebrated 75th Independence day but I would love to share

An interesting fact that people may not be aware off.

*On 15th of August, on India's Independence Day, our Natonal Flag, the Tricolour, is
"hoisted".* *Whereas on the 26th January, that is, on our Republic Day, it is
"unfurled".*

X TRISHA BISWAS *So, what is the difference between hoisting and unfurling?
*

*Well, on 15th of August, the flag is kept folded, at the bottom of the flag pole, and is
pulled up to the tip of the pole before it is spread out.*

*This is hoisting of a flag. It signifies the country was freed after a span of colonial
domination.*

SARTHAK-*On the other hand, on 26th January (since 1950) the tricolour is unfurled,
that is, the flag stays high up at the tip of the flag pole, (not at the middle or lower height
of the pole) folded,  and is spread out with the pull of the rope.*

ARSH-*This is unfurling of the tricolour. It signifies that as a flag of an already free

country, it cannot stay hung at a lower height, but is held high above.*

NURINA-*This is a small but very significant aspect of how our tricolour is honoured
with the country's history.*

DHRUV KASHYAP : Inspired by Gandhi ji and Subhash Chandra Bose call for
an Indian Army, Venkaiah left for Bombay when he was nineteen to join the
military services.

Nurina- After showing all the samples Venkaya had improved the flag design

according to Gandhiji’s suggestions.

ANISA-Yes Nurina In 1921, Venkayya met Gandhi in Vijayawada and

presented a rudimentary design of the flag. It consisted of two red and
green bands to symbolise Hindus and Muslims, respectively — the two
major religious communities in the country.

XMOLIC -and the white between them showcases the PEACE.

SHAAN-Gandhi made some changes to it, added a white band to
symbolise peace and a charkha to represent self-reliance — on the
recommendations of educationist Lala Hansraj.

Jaiditya-While the flag has undergone changes in the past decades, its
basic framework is credited to Pingali Venkayya.

Aryan Kaushik- Patti Venkayya…..means

KUSHAGRAH- What inspired you to hybrid variety of cottonseeds venkaya ji

Samara- my patriotic feelings were crushed when I saw the Union Jack being
hoisted at the assembly. Back home in Eluru, I worked hard and developed an
indigenous hybrid variety of cottonseeds. Importing the Cambodian variety
from America and mixing them with Indian seeds, I created MY own type.

AMAIRA- Yes VENKAYAji you ALSO acquired a piece of land in the nearby
Chellapalli village and planted these seeds. A fine variety of cotton grew from
these, which came to the notice of the local British officers during an
agricultural exhibition in 1909.

MANYA BHUTANI-The Royal Agricultural Society of London offered him an

honorary membership. He became famous as ‘Patti (cotton) Venkaiah’ to
everyone around.,
