DAY 1 : CAPITOL

On our first day, we had an orientation conducted by Engr. Salen Valdivieso, She briefed us about
the role of Provincial Engineering Office. We were divided into a group of three and assigned to three
divisions; Construction, Maintenance and MTQC. I was assigned in the Material Testing and Quality Control
Division together with Gerald Catulong, Jingle Taripe and Leobel Belluga. We introduce ourselves to the
Engineers assigned in the said division especially to the chief of MTQC, Engr. Jesusa G. Pogado.

DAY 2 : SITE VISITATION

Together with Engr. Jefrey G. Daugdaug we went to Barangay Domolok, Alabel Sarangani
Province to have a site visit and conduct an Field Density Test on his on-going project entitled,
“Concreting of NHW JCT Maribulan-Domolok P/R Phase III”, so that we can observed and have an
experienced on how to conduct an actual laboratory test on site. The FDT test must compose and
have an accurate data each one of the left lane, right lane and middle lane of the project. All day long
we gathered the samples and performed the test together with construction workers and with the
supervision of Engr. Daugdaug.

DAY 3 : CONSTRUCTION OF ALABEL NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL WATER SYSTEM

We stayed in the office all morning and didn’t have work to do. Mr. Jun-jun L. Unding told us to wait
after lunch break since we will have a site visit and project inspection in one of his project. Since we didn’t
have anything to do, we just observed other engineers there as they make plans for their projects. We
quickly introduced ourselves to the Chief Engineer of MTQC division, Engr. Jesusa G. Pugado. She gave us
a warm welcome and also gave us an encouragement message as future Engineer, and brief us about the
nature of duty of her division. Together with Mr. Jun-jun L. Unding we visited and inspected the on-going
construction of Alabel National High School Water System. Since they are conducting a pouring processed
on footings, we observed while Mr. Unding explained to us the details of the project, and what to be
inspected.

 AUGUST 24, 2020

DAY 4 : SITE VISITATION

Together with the supervision of Mr. Jhon Bartolome P. Balagulan, lab aid of MTQC division, we
went to the materials laboratory to conduct a sieve analysis and dry unit test of the samples submitted from
one of the project of Mr. Dionesio C. Maslog Jr. In the afternoon, together with Mr. Jun-jun L. Unding and our
co-trainees from the maintenance division, we had a site inspection at the Construction of Lined Laundry and
Motor pool located inside the Capitol, Complex. Mr. Unding explained to us the crucial part of pouring
process in the project that is why it in need to be supervise well. But since it is governed with the Tiongson
Construction, and their site manager is professional and best in handling their workers it went smooth and
Mr. Unding just observed the processed and explained to us scope of the said project.

 AUGUST 25, 2020

DAY 5 : MTQC LABORATORY

We went the materials laboratory together with Mr. Balagulan and Mr. Unding to break the
samples of reinforced concrete beam submitted by the project engineer of the road project at Barangay
Domolok concrete road, and test if its passed the required passing percentage of the MTQC. After lunch
break, we gather the data of the samples and submit it to Chief Engr. Jesusa G. Pogado for finalizations
and review of the results of the test conducted.

 AUGUST 26, 2020

DAY 6 : OFFICE
Chief Engr. Jesusa G. Pogado gave us a task to log book all the projects of the MTQC divisions
since 2018-presents, and to rechecked if the previous log book details were lacking data or were need to
be corrected if error occurred. After lunch break, we continued the task that were assigned to us. Since it

had to be done well and there are a lot of remaining projects that are not yet in the log book.
Together with Mr. Balagulan and Engr. Omay we made a total of three reinforced concrete
beam sample from the sample they brougth for their on-going concrete road project. We secured that
the test samples were not going to be disturbed to avoid failing the test and gather a good results.

AUGUST 28, 2020

DAY 7 : SITE VISITATION
Together with Engr. Jefrey G. Daugdaug and the Engineers of the constructions division, as
well as in the planning division inspected the Construction of Complementary Feeding located at
Poblacion Alabel Sarangani Province. All the divisions Engineers proceed to their scope of work and
inspect thoroughly the said project. Since the project must conform with the plans, materials,
calculations and etc. that were approved by the Provincial Engineering Office and the construction firm
that are handling the said projects.

OCTOBER 22, 2020

DAY 9 : MTQC LABORATORY
Chief Engr. Pogado together with Engr. Daugdaug told us to do the finalization and to gather
all the data of the construction of NHW JCT Maribulan-Domolok P/R Phase III. All day we were focused
on the task given since it is need to be done already because Chief Engr. Pogado must finalize and
review the outcome of the said project and the construction company that were handling the said project
needed tha data.
OCTOBER 23, 2020

DAY 10 : OFFICE
We were told to solve and gathere the data from the materials laboratory test that they
conduct in the previous lab test and submit it to Chief Engr. Pogado for finalizations. At noon we
were told to continue our work in loging all the projects in the log book, including all the data stored
in the computer.

DAY 11 : SITE VISITATION
Together with Engr. Jefrey Daugdaug, also with theProject Engineer and Site Engineer of the
project of constructions of NHW JCT Maribulan-Domolok P/R Phase III we conducted another FDT for
the continuetion of the construction of the said project.

DAY 12 : SITE VISITATION

Together with Engr. Ren Wel D. Sandoy we visit and inspected the construction of Kanalo-
Nomoh FMR located at the MunicipalityOCTOBER
of Maasim,28,Sarangani
2020 Province. After gathering all the data
from the left lane, rigth lane and middle lane of the road we solved for the results of the actual data
gathered on site.
Since it such a tiring day and the weather is so hot, the PE of the project bougth us merienda to
ease us. Engr. Sandoy explain to us the details of the said project and shared some knowledge in his
experienced in his past year as an site engineer.

DAY 13 : OFFICE
Today is a usual day. We are now in the office to do some paper work. This day is to put in
excel of our data that collected in our previous site visit. We are task to solve the data we get in site.
Then we make original copy of the papers that the capitol may issue that the site we visit are already get
a sample of and as a result we as a team to work if the soil in the site are pass to the desire data result
of capitol. Then after work by 5:30pm we log out and prepare to go home.

DAY 14 : POURING DAY FOR CONCRETING OF NHW JCT. OF MALBANG-BNDRY T’BOLI P/R
Today is not a usual day. We are now not in the office to check out some material’s quality but
we are now at the site of an on-going construction of a highway. Today, they poured concrete mixture in
one side of the way, and they use a vibrator machine to remove the air void from the concrete mass and
prevent it from forming a honeycomb. The vibrator is used in a 90 degree angle. We were amazed how
the workers gracefully used the vibrator to ensure that the concrete mix spread evenly. We go back to
the office and log out at exactly 5:30 pm.

DAY 15 : SITE VISITATION ON CONCRETING OF NHW JCT. OF MALBANG-BNDRY T’BOLI P/R

We log in at exactly 7:30 amNOVEMBER
at the capitol11,office.
2020After a couple of hours we were asked to
come along and visit the site of an on-going road construction which we were yesterday. Today, the
workers are doing darbying or bull float concrete. The purpose of darbying or bull floating concrete is to
level ridges and fill voids left by the screeding operation. Concrete used for visible projects, such as
driveways, patios and sidewalks, often requires finishing. The workers were doig the finishing today
from last day’s pouring. We head back to the office around 4:30 pm and we log out at exactly 5:30 pm.
Then went straight home.

DAY 16 : SITE VISITATION ON CONCRETING OF NHW JCT. OF MALBANG-BNDRY T’BOLI P/R

We arrived early today for a couple of minutes. We log in at 7:30 am. After we log in we stayed
for a while at the office. We eat lunch together. After lunch, we head back to where we were yesterday.
We checked the poured concrete mix last day and observe the area. We head back after a couple of
hours. We log out at exactly 5:30 pm and went home together.

NOVEMBER 13, 2020

DAY 17 : SITE VISITATION

Today is a sunny day. The sun is up and shine brightly as we arrived at the capitol. We log in as
usual at 7:30 am. We thought we will just stay at the office for the entire day. But we were invited to
joined the group of engineers and inspectors to visit site of an on-going farm-to-market road
construction at Maasim, Saranggani Province. After how many hours of visitation and observation, we
eat lunch along the road then head back to the capitol office. We stayed there until it is time to go home.
We log out at 5:30 pm and went home together.

DAY 18 : SITE VISITATION
We start our day by logging in by 7:30 am. Then we wait for the other engineers to arrive. When
everyone is ready, we went back to the on-going farm-to-market road construction at Maasim,
Sarangani Province which we were yesterday. Today, they checked the road drainage system which is
also simultaneously constructing with the road. We observe the area and see the bare form of the
drainage canal. Afterwards, we eat lunch around the area. We stayed there for a couple of hours and
head back to office around 3pm. We log out at 5:30 pm. Head home straight.

DAY 19 : SITE VISITATION

Just like what we did yesterday, we went back to the road construction at Maasim, Sarangani.
But before that, we log in first at 7:30 am. We observe what were the improvements and even the
construction process itself. We stayed there for a while then head back to office. We stayed in the office
afterwards. Then we logout by 5:30 pm and went home.

DAY 21 : MTQC LABORATORY

We log in by 7:30 am just like we asked to. Then we stayed at the office for some paper works.
But because there were not so much paper works to do, we then asked to segregate some aggregates.
We used sieve analysis to separate course aggregates from fine aggregates. These aggregates were
up for testing. We ate lunch by noon and then back to work. We finish the segregation just in time. After
finishing the segregation, we clean the tools and put it back to its storage area. Then we log out and
went home.

NOVEMBER 18, 2020

DAY 20 : SITE VISITATION

We arrived early at the office today. We stayed in the office at the morning. After lunch, we
were told to get ready for we were heading back to Maasim. We thought it is a new project or a different
project. But we arrive at the same project site we went yesterday. We were there again to check for
improvements and check the quality of the project. We visited this site for a couple of days now. After
staying there for a couple of hours, we went back to the office around 4 pm. We log out by 5:30 pm and
when home together.

DAY 22 : SLUMP TEST
Today is a fine day. We already informed yesterday that there will be a pouring session at a
project site. We log in first at the office and waited for the capitol service. We went straight to the site.
We waited for the mixer truck to arrive. When the mixer truck arrived at the site, the workers started to
pour the ingredients for concrete mixture. Before they start pouring the concrete mix unto the base,
they did a slump test. The slump test will determine the consistency of the concrete. When the mixture
is ready, they start pouring down to the base. We just observe there and waited until they finish
pouring. After that, we went back to the capitol and head home.

 NOVEMBER 20, 2020

DAY 23 : SITE VISITATION

We start our day by logging in by 7:30 am just like we always did. We thought that we will stay
in the office for the whole day but our chief invited us to joined them to visit a site. We then agree and
wait for the service van to arrive. Then we went to a bridge site, where columns are newly erected. The
pillars of the bridge were seen in the photo above. They inspect the columns and the project site. We

just observe and listen to them while discussing the other matters of the project. We eat lunch along the
road back to the capitol. We log out by 5:30 pm and went home straight after.

DAY 24 : MTQC LABORATORY
In this day 23rd day of November, Engr. Susana Pogado our Division Chief give us a task to
test the beam sample to get the maximum strength of the given sample.

DAY 26 : SITE VISITATION
In this day 25th day of November, we went to the Motorpool together with Sir Unding to witness
for pouring of concrete. And also the Engr. For this project give us some tips and techniques on how to
handle your workers to make them dedicated.

In this day 24th day of November, we are thankful because Engr. Susana Pogado decided to be

In this day 26th day of November , another CCS and CBS given by the contractor to the testing
lab. and Engr. Susana Pogado Assign us to test the sample and get the maximum strength to know if

DAY 28 : SITE VISITATION

WEEK 8
In this day 27th day of November, Together with Sir Unding we went to malungon for inspection.

In this day the 1st day of December, we have given a task by our division chief to do some
paper works with the help of Engr. Daugdaug to teach us on how to do with it. As I remember we have
just only a day to finish this papers because this will gonna be pass after a day.

DAY 30 : SITE VISITATION

In this day the 2 nd day of December, together with Engr. Daugdaug we went to malungon for
pouring of concrete for slab. Then I saw the stone and then I ask the engr. what is the use of that stone
and what is that called then he answer DECEMBER
that`s what we4, called
2020 concrete spacer block and the purpose of
that is to position the rebar to the right place with the right cover.

DAY 32 : SITE VISITATION
In this day the 4th day of December, we decided to visit Sarangani Capitol new project because
we do nothing in the office with the permission of our Division Chief to take some picture and to
