Patient counselling is indispensable to the practice of pharmacy. It is through counselling,
found at the heart of pharmaceutical care, that we are able to experience fulfillment and justification on the things that we have exerted our efforts for years of studying, apart from interacting with healthcare professionals, managing patients’ medications and conditions. At the core of patient counselling lies the good background on communication skills and in-depth knowledge on disease states and pharmacology, to which successful patient counselling depend to. For the final requirement in this course, you are tasked to create a simple educational video about OTC drugs. OTC/Nonprescription drugs, unlike prescription drugs, are not properly counselled to patients even though pharmacists know that it poses a lot of adverse drug reactions just like the prescription drugs. You will be grouped (by three) and will be assigned with drugs for presentation. See details below.
