BAYONGAN DAM

Bayongan dam is a reservoir-type dam located in the municipality of San Miguel Bohol. The role of this
dam is to provide water supply for irrigation in the farmlands of the different Municipalities in Bohol; San
Miguel, Ubay, and Trinidad. This dam is significant because farmers can use the water for growing their
crops because of the irrigation. Boost economic growth in the 2nd District of Bohol because the Local
Government Unit has put up a post at the junction. Anybody who enters the road that leads to the dam
should pay the entrance fee. The dam also has disadvantages one example of these, generate the flooding
risk if they experience a failure because of the heavy rainfall.

MALINAO DAM

Malinao dam is a scenic lake surrounded by mango trees and located in Pilar, Bohol. It connects to an
irrigation facility that irrigates nearby farmlands. This dam is significant to the people, for it can help us to
retain our water supply. It also allows the people in Pilar to accumulate freshwater during periods of heavy
precipitation for use during a dry spell or drought because of the reservoir. Malinao dam has a downside
to the people and environment because when heavy rainfall occurs, it causes flooding that can devastate
the environment, and dams can be challenging to maintain.

CAPAYAS DAM

Capayas dam is considered one of the largest dams in the province of Bohol. It is located just along the
national highway in barangay Bay-ang of Ubay. This dam is the source of water supply in the town for
home use and irrigation that is the edge of having it. But also it has a downside because if heavy rainfall
happens, it reaches its spilling level that provides dangers to the people and environment.

BENLIW DAM

The Benliw Dam is a newly completed irrigation facility that will serve the community and locates in Brgy.
Benliw, Ubay. The advantages of this dam are having a small reservoir impounding project (SRIP) that can
provide water supply to the farmers in growing their crops and increase their average harvest per hectare.
It also boosts agro-tourism in the place. However, there are instances when heavy rainfall occurs it creates
flooding risk.

MALINGIN DAM

The Malingin dam, known as the Ilaya reservoir, Mother dam is a place to unload the burdens of life. It
locates in Barangay San Pascual, Municipality of Ubay, Bohol. This dam leads to others for it is an irrigation
dam that provides water supply to farmlands, where farmers can grow their crops simply because of the
irrigation. Also, it can improve the economy in that area and gives more harvest for the farmers. However,
when heavy precipitation occurs, it can create flooding risks that can damage the environment.

ZAMORA DAM

Zamora dam is a memorial in Bohol and situated in Talibon. Providing water supply in the community is
the role of this dam. Its leads to others because it has a small reservoir irrigation system that supplies
water in the area. It can help the farmers in growing their crops and increase their harvest. It can also help
the people nearby to that area because it can supply water for home use. However, in the dry season, it
lacks a supply of water and affects the farmlands.
MATIN-AO DAM

Matin-ao dam is a usable dam located in Carmen, Bohol, and plays a significant role in the community.
This dam is a project of the Department of Agriculture that is called the Small Water Impounding Project
(SWIP). It aims to supply water to farmers specifically, rice growers. The edges of having this are farmers
can grow their crops regularly for there is a supply of water that can lead them to harvest abundantly.
Also, people can make use of the water for home use. However, when the dry season comes in place, the
reservoir could not supply the right amount of water to farmlands because of deficiency.
