    Prepare a SWOT analysis of a possible merger and acquisition of ABSCBN and GMA 7.

    ABS CBN presently suffered major losses. Having lost its broadcast franchise, it suffered major
    downfall and causes numeral internal divisions to dissolve. Many of its programs closed and the
    contracts terminated. It has suffered financially for many of their programs lacked funding and airing of
    their shows are much expensive and legally constricted. Though it can be supplemented by adopting or
    coinciding with other channels, ABS CBN chose to venture on its own and forced to let go of their many
    hits shows and losing many of its prominent talents. A possible merger and acquisition of GMA 7 to ABS
    CBN would significantly boost the ratings of the consolidated or new broadcasting company.

    The internal factors that can be achieved if the possible merger and acquisition proceed would
    be the financial resource, physical resource, human resource, current processes, and access to natural
    resources, trademarks, patents, and copyrights. Financial resources of both ABS CBN and GMA 7 if
    merged or consolidated would be the biggest of its kind in the Philippines for these two are two largest
    broadcasting networks. This would provide huge funding and the investments would be substantially
    higher and making projects much more diverse. Physical resource would be the facilities and equipment
    that can be tapped and used. Human resource would help bring the manpower to an unprecedented
    level and the number of talents would be more diverse. The amount of manpower can even rival huge
    institutions and they can expand whenever they choose. Both have respectable process concerning their
    programs and both can be beneficial to one another sharing their ideals and the best practices in the
    company.

    The external factors that can be achieved is their market trends, economic trends, funding,
    demographics, political, environmental, and economic regulations. In market trends they would be the
    one to influence. Having the biggest asset and the largest reach to the people they can manipulate the
    market trends making them the sole monopoly of biggest things and the deciding factors to the state of
    the people in the Philippines. The economic that is tied to the company will be the biggest of its king in
    the Philippines. It would be the biggest contributor to the economy as a whole. The political influence
    that it can use would be doubled of its capacity. having both ABS CNB and GMA 7 patrons many of its
    programs can shift the views of their viewers and affect their decision making it the most valuable asset
    of the company. They can control the masses and proclaim and justify things whenever and whatever it
    is.
