Management
1. Definition of Management
Management may be defined as the art of work done through people, with the satisfaction of the
employer, employees, and the public. To do this, it is necessary to guide Direct Control human
effort towards the fulfillment of a goal of the Enterprise.

2. Concepts of Management
Management is an axecutive act that actively directs the human effort to a common goal.
Management is the follower of the administration, it gets a salary or a part of the profit in lieu of
its services. Management does not frame politics, it only implements the politics laid down by
the administrator.
Functions of Management :
1. Planning
2. Organizing
3. Staffing
4. Motivation
5. Directing Coordination
6. Control

3. Importance of Management
No enterprise can survibe without management, even if prossesses huge money, the best
Machinery , expert Manpower. Because without management it will be all confusion, nobody
will know what to do. Management guides and controls the activities of :
1. Manpower for maximum utilization of the company’s resources.
2. Managers provide new ideas and vision to the organization to do better.
3. The managers provide stability to the company by changing and modifying the society.
4. Management helps personality development thereby raising effeciency and productivity.
4. Levels of Management
Top level Managemen ( Board of Director, Managing Director, C.E.O )
Responsibility : Planning and Coordinating
Accountable : Stakeholders and the general public.
Middle level Management ( General managers, branch managers, and department
managers )
Responsibility : Directional and managerial fuction and implementation of policies and plans,
Accountable :Top – level Management
Supervisor or Operative level ( Supervisor, foreman, & first line managers )
Responsibility : Distribute jobs and responsibilities to a variety of works.
5. Management Skills
1. Techncal Skill
Technical skills is necessary for management in handling methods, processes
propety. It is essential for a manager to know which technical skill should be
employed in a particular work.
Technical Skill is essetial for lower-level management.
2. Conceptual Skills
Concetual Skill are required to recognize inter-relationship among different
function of the business ang eternal force and to guide effectively the organization
efforts.
Coceptual skill is essential for higher-level management. Conceptual skill include
Decision- making skill and organizational skills.
3. Human Relation Skill
Human Relation skills is the ability to work with others people and reach
organizational goals.
Communication skill is the ability to transfer information to others effectively.
Motivating skills is inspire people to do what the managers wants them to do. The
Manager can use positive method like rewards, praise and etc, or the negative
method like punishment, threat and etc.
