1. Don’t use the player in extremely hot, cold, dusty or damp environment.
2. Don’t drop the player while using it.
3. The service life of the battery is subject to the using condition, manufacturer and production date.
4. Please charge the battery in the following instances:
A. The icon of battery level shows weak
B. System powers off automatically, and powers off again after restarting
C. Keys do not work.
5. During the formatting or uploading/downloading, do not disconnect abruptly, or it might cause mistakes
with portable disk.
6. When this player is used for portable storage, if there is high static during the operation, or wrong
operating methods being used, it might cause files to be missing. We shall not be responsible for any
loss due to missing files.
7. MP3 can be charged if being connected to USB port of your computer, or you can charge with charger
via USB cable.
8. Do not disassemble the player at random, or you will not enjoy our three-warranty service, any questions
during your operation, please contact our distributor.
9. Our company reserves the right to improve the product. Different software and hardware versions might
influence the product performance and its functions, therefore the product shall be subject to change
without further notice.

06 Basic Operations

Power On/Off
Power On: push power switch to ON position, than long press key for 3 seconds, the player will display
the boost picture and enter into Function Selection menu.
Power Off: a. In Play status, short press to pause, then long press for 3 seconds to power off.
b. In other modes, long press for 3 seconds to power off.
c. In case of weak battery, auto power off.

Lock Switch
In Video, Record or Music status, you can set as Lock status to lock the keyboard and prevent unwanted
operation.
Lock: press and VOL- > at the same time, player will auto lock.
Unlock: in Lock status, press and VOL- > at the same time to unlock.

A-B Repeat
In Music Play status, long press VOL+ < to enter Repeat mode, at the time, top corner will display repeat icon
“A”, which confirms the starting repeat point, then long press VOL+ < to display “B” which confirms the ending
repeat point. At the time, repeat icon A-B is fixed and the player begins to play. Further long press VOL+ < to
cancel A-B repeat.

Power Reset
If your player is blocked during the playing, push power switch to restart the player.

Connect to Computer and File Transfer

With your computer on, use USB cable to connect player and computer to realize USB power supply or USB
data transfer. This player is connected to computer via USB port, and can be used as U disk. It only requires
you to copy your favorite music to your MP4 player, rather than a procedure from a third party.

Volume Control
In Music, Voice, Video or Record status, press VOL+ < or VOL- > to control volume.

F/FWD & F/REV

In Music, Voice, Video or Record status, long press PREVIOUS《 or NEXT 》 to fast forward or fast reverse.

Previous/Next file
In Music, Voice, Video or Record status, short press PREVIOUS《 or NEXT 》to read previous or next file.
08 System Menu

Main Interface
Enter into Main Interface after power on, press PREVIOUS《 or NEXT 》to select your required function (Music
Play/Video Play/Photo Album/Radio/E-book/Record/Explorer /Play Game/System Setup), short press MENU ◇
to enter into Function menu, short press PREVIOUS《 in submenu to exit to previous directory.

Settings
In Main Interface, select [Settings] option, short press MENU ◇ to enter Setting interface (shown as following
picture), press VOL+ < or VOL- > to select your required sub item to set.

Display Setting (Voice setting and Record setting are described in relative functions)
1. Backlight time: 5s, 10s, 15s, 20s, 30s and long on
2. Brightness control: +1, +2, +3, +4, +5, the higher level, the brighter
3. Backlight display mode: Normal and Energy-saving modes. Set as no operation and only darker display in
normal “Backlight Time”, and it will close the display if you set as Energy-saving mode.

System Setting
Three sub items: Language Option, Product Info, Firmware Update
1. Language Option: languages such as English, Spanish
2. Product Info: rest memory/total memory, system software version no., system software version date,
these info are read-only, short press MENU ◇ to exit.
3. Firmware Update: in this menu, eject our dialog box to remind if to have Firmware Update, it will exit if no
Firmware Update.

Sleep Power Off Time

In the menu: off, 10m, 15m, 30m, 60m and 120m.

System Default
In this menu, eject out dialog box of “YES” or “NO” for selection, confirm if to resume the default, press MENU ◇
to confirm.
10 Music Play

Play/Stop
In Music Play menu, connect earphone to player, press PREVIOUS《 and NEXT 》 to select your required song
files to play, then short press to play, further short press to pause, press again to play,
repeat the operation.
If the file is attached with LRC file, the player will simultaneously display lyrics.

Setting Menu of Music Play

In Music Play status, long press MENU ◇ to enter Main Menu, and enter into “Voice” in “Setting” options, multi
choices, press VOL+ < and VOL- > to switch to your required menu, after your selection, press MENU ◇ to
confirm.

1. Repeat Setting
a. Play One : Stop after playing this song
b. Repeat One : Repeat the selected single song
c. Play Directory : Once Play all songs in selected directory once
d. Repeat Directory : Repeat all songs in selected directory
e. Repeat All : Repeat all songs
f. Play All Once : Play all songs once
g. Music Listen : Play all songs in current folder for 10 seconds in sequence (After listening,
the system will return to full circulation mode)
2. Play Setting
User can set as Sequence Play and Shuttle Play
3. EQ Setting
User can set: 8 modes of Normal/3D/Rock/Pop/Classic/Bass/Jazz/Users Define
 4 Control of User’s EQ
Select [Users Define] option, press PREVIOUS《 and NEXT 》to set the frequency band, press VOL+
< and VOL- > to increase or decrease, edit your favorite EQ mode. Press PREVIOUS《 or NEXT 》
to confirm the edit.
Video Play 11

Play/Stop
In Video Play menu, connect earphone to player, press VOL+ < or VOL- > to select your required video file to play,
then short press MENU ◇ to play, short press to pause.
12 Voice Record

Record Control
In Main interface, enter into Record status, press MENU ◇ to enter Ready Record, and then press to
begin or pause recording.
Long press MENU ◇ to save and exit Record mode.

Record Setting
In Stop status of Record mode, long press MENU ◇ to exit to Main interface, and enter into Record Setting in
Setting
1. Record quality: high quality, normal quality. (The first one has larger record file and better effect,
the last one is opposite)
2. Record volume: five options of +1, +2, +3, +4, +5, the higher level, the larger volume
Recorded files can be found and played in Music Play menu.
 FM Function 13

FM Radio
Short press MENU ◇ key to enter FM menu, short press MENU ◇ key to highlight: Manual, preset, Mem, Del,
auto, short press MENU ◇ to confirm the chosen function

Press PREVIOUS《 and NEXT 》to change the frequent manually, long press “M” to exit.

• Auto: Press MENU ◇ to enter, the player will automatically search channel. Press PREVIOUS《 and
NEXT 》to select the station.

• Mem: press MENU ◇ key to enter, press VOL+ < or VOL- > to select the channel, press MENU ◇ to
confirm store, the frequent display on screen will replace the frequent that stored before. First short
press PREVIOUS《 to exit memory, then long press MENU ◇ to return main menu.

• Del: press MENU ◇ key to enter, press VOL+ < or VOL- > to select the channel that you want to
delete, press MENU ◇ the confirm, after delete the station’s frequent will display “empty”, First short
press PREVIOUS《 to exit delete mode, then long press MENU ◇ to return main menu.

Note:
In FM mode, the earphone is acting as an antenna, so please keep the earphone connected.
14 Resource Manager

Resource Manager
Resource Manager is a feature of this player, it provides you clear information about the file categories and
directories inside the player. This is for the management and search of file directories in the available
categories.

Delete File
In Resource Manager, you can select your favorite music or video files, then short press MENU ◇ to directly
play.

During the selection, if you do not require the file, you can short press to display Delete dialog box,
press PREVIOUS《 or NEXT 》to select. Select “YES” to delete and “NO” to cancel, after your selection, short
press MENU ◇ to carry out the selected option.

14 Picture Browse

JPEG Browser
In Main interface, short press MENU ◇ to confirm the Picture Browse mode, shown as follows:
Press VOL+ < or VOL- > to select the previous or next picture, then short press to play.
 TXT Browse 15

Download Files of TXT Format

Connect player to computer, select your required file to download, open the file with tools of notebook, save to
portable disk in TXT format and ANSI code.
You can also copy TXT file with ANSI code to portable disk.

Read Files
In Main interface, enter into E-book option, press VOL+ < or VOL- > to select your required file to read, then short
press MENU ◇ to read the file. Press VOL+ < or VOL- > to read by lines, and PREVIOUS《 or NEXT 》 by pages.
Users can short press begin or pause auto-read. Long press VOL+ < and press MENU ◇ to save the
bookmark. Long press VOL- > and press MENU ◇ to select out the bookmark.
16 Game Function

Russian Block
Keys Description
Russian Block is operated in horizontal, short press to switch between Begin and Pause. VOL+ < or VOL-
> to control the block to move leftwards or rightwards, short press MENU ◇ to change the shape, NEXT 》 to fast
fall down directly, long press MENU ◇ to exit.

16 Use USB and Charge

USB Display Mode

This player has high-speed USB 2.0 port, with standard portable disk function, supports Windows98 (driver is
required), Windows 2000/XP (no need of driver) system, after Connected to PC via USB port (for several
minutes), the player will display Online mode. At the time, click “Portable Disk” in “My Computer” for reading
and writing. Charge Display Mode

If the battery is too low, the display will show “Low battery to power off”, then the player will be powered off
automatically. You can use the attached charger to charge the battery. It requires 3~4 hours to charge fully the
battery (note: for the first three times, you have to charge for 10~12 hours).
Connect the player to PC via USB cable to get charge.
 Convert Video Files 17

The conversion software of this player supports formats of AVI, MPG, MPEG, RM, RMVB, DAT and converts to
the supportable AVI format of this player in fast speed and high quality.

01> Run the Video Conversion Tool in attached disk, click to install AVI Converter Setup
After the installation, open and click the desktop Start/ Program/ AVI Converter.
Display the following interface, select “Add file to convert”

02> Display the dialog box of conversion parameters:

A: First select video source file: click “Source File” button in the right of converter, then select the video
file to be converted.
B: Then select targeted path: click “Targeted Path” button in the right of converter, and then select the
path to save the file.

03> Select the conversion quality and height/width (resolution should be set as 320x240), after setting the
parameters, click “Save” button.

04> After saving the set parameters, click “Begin to convert file”.

When the converting process reaches 100%, it

will indicate Conversion Finish, which means the
Video Conversion is successful, transfer the
converted file to MP3 via USB data cable for
watching.
20 Firmware Update

Player can resume the damaged driver firmware via the updating tool of tool software in attached disk. Users
can also download the latest firmware update in Attached CD-disk or Technical Support/Download Center of
Our website (http://www.lattefone.com).

Notice: Firmware updating tool .exe is the installation version for the Updating tool of Firmware. Please install
first, then run the updating tool in Start menu or desktop, after the running, push the player power switch to
Off position, then press and hold , then connect USB, do not release until the new hardware is found, at
the time, if it is the first updating for your computer, please install the driver, directly click NEXT to search the
driver by the system automatically (Driver installation interface will not be displayed if the player has been
updated before). Run the Updating tool to update.

01> When updating the computer for the first time, first insert the attached CD-disk to CD-ROM of computer,
then connect MP4 player to computer (push the player power switch to Off position, then press and hold ,
before the connection), till the following program installation interface is displayed.

02> Please run next step per the prompt from dialog box, then click Browse, point to the Rock USB Driver
directory in updating tool of driver CD-ROM, then the installation is finished.

04> When the program required by your computer has been installed, you can carry out Updating; first turn off
MP4 (push ON/OFF to OFF position), than select and run Firmware updating tool.

(Turn on your computer: Start=>Program=>Consumer Update=>Firmware Update), then open Option to select
****.RFM file (shown as interface).
24 Firmware Update

05> Connect player to PC via USB cable (before connection, push the player power switch to Off position, then
press and hold ), then click [Record Firmware] till the auto updating is finished (shown as above figure).

Or turn on MP4 and enter into Setting=>System Setting=>Firmware Update=>Confirm and connect via USB,
then click [Record Firmware] till the auto updating is finished.

Notice: Firmware Update is for enhancing and optimizing the performance of player, the player can run
normally with no Firmware Update. Wrong operation of Firmware Update might cause the player to no longer
work! Firmware Update software for this player is not suitable for any other player of another series.

 Troubleshooting 25

The player cannot be turned on.

Check if the battery is weak
Connect to power adapter, and check again
If the player can not power on after charge, please contact our distributor
No sound can be heard from the earphone.
Check if the volume is set as 0
Confirm the earphone is properly connected.
Serious noise
Check if the earphone plug is clean, the pollution might cause noise
Check if the music file is damaged. Confirm by playing other music. The damaged file might create serious
noises or voice dithering
Deformed display
Please make sure that you have selected the correct language. Set language in (Setting) => (System Setting)
=> (Language Selection)
Files can not be downloaded
Make sure there is proper connection between computer and player
Check if the memory is full
Check if the USB cable is damaged
