EXERCISE 1
Rewrite these sentences, using Have or Get with an infinitive.

1- Order the porter to carry these boxes up to my room, please.


2- I must go to the barber and pay him to cut my hair.
3- He's going to ask the shoe-repairman to mend his shoes.
4- Tell him to take another photograph of the baby.
5- You cannot oblige him to do it because that is against the law.
6- I'll ask my secretary to bring it to you tomorrow.

EXERCISE 2
Rewrite the following sentences, using Have or Get with a past participle.

1- The Smiths are going to build a new house.


2- Please tell someone to take my luggage to the station.
3- We must find somebody to add an extra room to the house.
4- You should pay the mechanic to check the car thoroughly before starting on your trip.
5- She has just asked the dressmaker to make a new dress for her daughter.
6- I paid a man to sharpen these knives and scissors yesterday.
7- Mother is going to pay a doctor to test her eyesight.
8- Did you order the boys to plant some trees in the garden?
9- Bob does not pay anyone to cook his meals for him. He cooks them himself.
10- Why didn't you hire someone to repaint your bedroom light blue?

EXERCISE 3
Use the causative form (Have/Get + Object + Past Participle) to translate the following sentences into English.

1- Chuùng ta neân nhôø khaùm söùc khoûe ít ra moãi naêm moät laàn.
2- Toâi ñaõ cho may boä ñoà môùi naày taïi Paris tuaàn tröôùc.
3- Chuùng toâi vöøa môùi cho ñöa ngöôøi ñaøn oâng ñau oám ñoù vaøo beänh vieän.
4- Khi naøo baïn seõ ñöa söûa caùi maùy giaët naày?
5- Laøm ôn cho ngöôøi mang nhöõng vali ñoù leân phoøng toâi ngay.
6- Nhöõng thieäp cöôùi naày ñeïp laém. Baïn ñaõ cho in ôû ñaâu vaäy?
7- Thuû töôùng khoâng nhôø ai soaïn caùc baøi dieãn vaên cho oâng. OÂng thích töï vieát laáy.
