I’m Nga. I’m from group 1. Today I will talk to you about the structure of Deloitte
company. As far as you know, Deloitte is one of the big4, which include 4 largest
service companies in Viet Nam: Deloitte, Ernst & Young, PWC ( price water
house cooper) and KPMG. All of them are in the audit sector, so they seem to have
the same structure: matrix structure.
What is matrix structure ? The matrix structure groups employees by both function
and product. This structure can combine the best of both separate structures:
functional structure and division structure. A matrix organization frequently uses
teams of employees to accomplish work, in order to take advantage of the
strengths, as well as make up for the weaknesses, of functional and decentralized
forms. An example would be a company that produces two products, "product a"
and "product b". Using the matrix structure, this company would organize
functions within the company as follows: "product a" sales department, "product a"
customer service department, "product a" accounting, "product b" sales
department, "product b" customer service department, "product b" accounting
department. Matrix structure is amongst the purest of organizational structures, a
simple lattice emulating order and regularity demonstrated in nature.
PWC was created by the merger of two large firms, Price Waterhouse and
Coopers & Lybrand in 1998.These two firms each have histories dating back
to the nineteenth century. It is the world's second-largest professional
services firm (after Deloitte) and one of the "Big Four" accountancy firms
Ernst & Young (EY) is one of the largest professional services firms in the
world and one of the Big Four auditors, along with Deloitte, KPMG and
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Ernst & Young is the result of a series of
mergers of ancestor organizations In 1989, the number four firm Ernst &
Whinney merged with the then number five, Arthur Young, on a global basis
to create Ernst & Young
KPMG is one of the largest professional services firms in the world and one
of the Big Four auditors, along with Deloitte, Ernst & Young (EY) and PwC.
Its global headquarters is located in Amstelveen, Netherlands. The firm was
established in 1870 when William Barclay Peat formed an accounting firm
in London. In 1877 accountancy firm Thomson McLintock opened an office
in Glasgow and in 1911 William Barclay Peat & Co. and Marwick Mitchell
& Co. merged to form Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co, later known as Peat
Marwick
