4. A class does some experiments to measure the approximate percentage of oxygen in air.
Air is passed several times over some heated copper powder.

The copper is strongly heated using a Bunsen burner. Syringe L is slowly pushed in to
pass air over the heated copper. The same is then done with syringe R. This is repeated
until the total amount of gas in the two syringes remains constant.
