To the Teacher
Smiles 2 Teacher’s Resource Pack aims to:
• give teachers additional material that revises and extends the work in the Pupil’s Book; • give pupils the opportunity for extra language practice; • develop the pupils’ interest in English!
The pupils at this level need constant recycling to ensure that the new language is committed to their long term memory. At the same time, it is also essential that they are given opportunities to get actively involved in language learning and use their English in meaningful and personalised contexts.
Smiles 2 Teacher’s Resource Pack is divided into the following sections:
1 Reinforcement and Extension Activities: These activities are in the form of projects which pupils can do on their own or in groups. The pupils can then file their projects in their Language Portfolios. 2 Templates: These are the templates for the craftwork activities in the Pupil’s Book. 3 Story Cards: These cards include the stories in the Pupil’s Book. The teacher can hand them out to the pupils so that they can make their own story books. 4 Alphabet Worksheets: These are extra activities for those teachers who wish to practise the English alphabet. 5 Word Cards: These cards include the words used in the Alphabet Worksheets. The teacher can use them to present/practise the letters. 6 Phonics Activities to help the pupils master the art of reading. 7 Module Tests: There is one module test for each module. 8 Module Tests Key & Tapescripts. 9 Let’s Celebrate! 2 Teacher’s notes: These are guidelines and key for those teachers who wish to cover the optional festive units.
