CHAPTER 2 – CAB REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

LIFTING THE CAB

CAB PREPARATION

1. If equipped, remove the loader assembly from
the cab end tractor frame.
2. Park the tractor on a level surface, set the parking
brake, lower the cab end three-point-hitch arms,
and remove the keys from the ignition.
3. Install the articulation lock pin.

4. Disconnect the batteries negative terminal.

5. Remove the bolts (1) and plate (2) from the
rubber hose mounting clamp (3). 1
NOTE: Due to the location of the articulating joint,
one of the bolts (1) may not be removed from the
rubber hose mounting clamp (3) If this is the case
make sure the bolt (1) is totally removed from the
rubber hose mounting clamp (3) and the plate does
not interfere with the lifting of the cab.

6. Remove the nuts (4) from the clamps (5) on both


sides of the tractor. Remove the clamps from the
tractor cab.

7. Remove the nut (1) from the ground strap (2)


Remove the ground strap from the tractor cab.

8. Remove the fuel tank breather hose clamp (1)
from outside the LH side of the cab.

9. Remove the access hole cover plates (1) from
the engine end of the cab floor on both sides of
the cab. Clean the silicon selant from the cover
plate (1) and the cab floor (2).

10. Remove the nuts (1) from the engine end cab
mounting bolts (2).

11. Remove the bolts (1) and rubber washers (2)
through the access holes in the cab floor. 1 2

12. Remove the nuts (1) from the cab end cab
mounting bolts (2) on both sides of the cab.
NOTE: The bolts (2) cannot be removed from the cab 2
mounting bracket.

13. Lift the cab mounting bolts (1) on an angle so the
bolt threads do not interfere with the cab
mounting bracket (2) during the cab removal. 1

14. Loosen the set screws (1) on all three of the flow
control cable ends (2) Remove the flow control 2
cable ends from the implement valve (3).

15. Place the flow control cable ends (1) over the
implement valve (2) to avoid damage to the flow

16. If installed, remove the lock nut (1) from the 3rd
foot pedal option cable end (2). Remove the 4 1
cable and bolt (3) from the bell crank (4) coming

through the cab floor.

17. Loosen the cable nut (5) from the cab bracket (6)
Remove the cable from the groove in the cab
bracket and place it under the cab bracket.

Cut tie wraps, adjust brake lines, relocate hoses,
relocate electrical lines as necessary before cab
removal is started to eliminate the chance of

LIFTING THE CAB USING THE


THREE-POINT-HITCH LIFTING TOOL

LIFTING THE CAB


1. Prepare the tractor cab for lifting, refer to the Cab
Preparation Section in this chapter.
2. Remove the stabilizer assembly lynch pins (1)
3. Adjust the stabilizer assembly tube (2) all the way
counter clockwise so the threads are not showing
(3).

4. Remove the hydraulic overflow container (1)
from the bracket (2).

upper link mounting pin.

9. Align the NH01362 Cab Lifting Tool (1) in front of
the cab end three-point-hitch.

10. Install the tool frame ends (1) into the quick
attach assembly ends (2). 2

12. Lift the tool frame (1) up to contact the tractor. Lift
the bottom of the tool frame so the quick attach
assemblies (2) on each of the lower lift links (3)
reattach to the lower lift links. Make sure the
quick attach assemblies are latched completely.
13. Lower the tool frame (1) to the ground.

14. Unscrew both ends of the ratchet jack to make
the ends an equal distance apart from each
other.

15. Install the ratchet jack (1) into the upper link
mounting bracket (2).
16. Install the upper link mounting pin (3) into the
bottom hole of the bracket (2).
17. Install the latch pin (4) into the pin (3). 3 4

18. Remove the remaining pin (1) and latch pin (2)
from the top link.

19. Lift the tool frame up to contact the tractor. Raise
the ratchet jack (1) into the tool frame (2).
20. Install the pin (3) and latch pin (4) into the tool
frame and ratchet jack.
NOTE: The three-point-hitch may need adjusted up
or down to allow for the ratchet jack to be installed.

21. Remove the shipping caps (1) from the tractor
frame (2). Do not discard the shipping caps. 2

22. Start the engine and raise the three-point-hitch
using the raise/lower switch (1) on the rear of the
tractor cab.

23. Raise the three-point-hitch enough to align the
special tool tubes (1) with the tractor frame (2). 1
Adjust the ratchet jack, and three-point-hitch 2
lower links to make the tool frame level and snug
with the tractor frame.

NOTE: If the hydraulic system is inoperative, the cab
may be lifted with floor jacks under the legs of the
special tool frame or by using a hydraulic hand pump
(such as OTC Model 4002) to drive one of the
three-point-hitch lift assist cylinders.

27. Raise the three-point-hitch approximately 76 mm
(3 inches). Adjust the ratchet jack to maintain a
level cab position.
28. Inspect the tie wraps, brake lines, hoses,
electrical lines as necessary to avoid damage to
these components.

WARNING
Cut tie wraps, adjust brake lines, relocate hoses,

removal is started, this will eliminate the chance
of tractor damage or personal injury.

29. Raise the three-point-hitch again approximately 33


76 mm (3 inches). Adjust the ratchet jack to
maintain a level cab position. Raise the cab to a
total height of 280 mm (11 inches).

WARNING
Do not raise the cab higher than 280 mm (11
inches). If the cab is raised higher than 280 mm
(11 inches), tractor damage or personal injury
may occur.

CAUTION
Over adjustment of the cab alignment can cause
the cab end fenders to hit the steps. Once the
lower arms raise above a horizontal plane the cab
moves in the opposite direction.

30. Install the cab stands on the tractor frame on both
sides of the cab, front (1) and rear (2).
31. Install the four 3/4 inch bolts (3) included in the 2
special tool kit through the cab stands (1) and (2)
and cab frame (4) then fasten the cab stands with
the nuts (5) Tighten securely.

32. Carefully lower the cab on the cab stands (1)
adjust the cab to be centered between the two
rear cab stands. 1 1

NOTE: When lowering the cab, adjust the cab so the
welded cab mounts (1) do not rest on the cab stands
(2).

33. Remove the cab mount bolts and cab mounts
from the cab. To stabilize the tractor, install the
four 10 x 5/8 inch bolts (1) and cab mount large
washers (2). Fasten the bolts with nuts. Tighten
securely. 1

34. If necessary, remove the NH01363 Cab Lifting
Tool from the cab end three-point-hitch.

LOWERING THE CAB
1. If removed, attach the three-point-hitch lifting
device.
2. Remove the four 10 x 5/8 inch bolts (1) and
washers (2) from the cab mounts (3).

NOTE: Inspect cab mounts for wear or damage.
Replace if necessary.

3. Install the cab mount bolts (1) and cab mounts (2)
in the cab mounting brackets (3).

4. Remove the cab stands nuts (5) Remove the four
3/4 inch bolts (3) from the cab stands (1) and (2)
and cab frame (4).
5. Raise the cab enough to remove the cab stands
(1) and (2) from the tractor frame on both sides 1
of the cab.
6. Lower the three-point-hitch approximately 76mm
(3 inches). Adjust the ratchet jack to push the cab
backward to maintain a level cab position.
Repeat until cab sets on mounts. 3
7. Install the tie wraps that were removed during the

lifting of the cab. Inspect the brake lines, hoses,
electrical lines as necessary to avoid damage to 41
these components when lowering the cab.

8. Position the bolts (1) on an angle to avoid binding
on the bolt threads during cab lowering.
9. Lower the three-point-hitch until the cab mounts 1
set squarely between the cab and frame
mounting brackets. Adjust the ratchet jack to shift
the cab and align the cab mounting brackets until
the cab mounting bolts drop through the frame
mount.
NOTE: The three-point-hitch and ratchet jack may
need adjustment to allow for the bolts, to be installed.

10. When the bolts are completely through the frame 10005306
cab mounts, lower the cab until the full cab weight
is resting on the mounts. 43

11. Remove the stabilizer assembly lynch pins (1)
from the stabilizer assemblies (2).

12. Remove the bull horns (1) from the lifting tool

NOTE: The three-point-hitch and ratchet jack may
need adjustment to allow for the bull horns to be
removed.

13. Remove the pin (3) and latch pin (4) from the tool

match the implement valve. Adjust the flow control as
needed per valve.

cable in the groove in the cab bracket (6) and 4 1

30. Install the bolt (3) in the cable end (2). Install the 5
cable end on the bell crank (4) coming through
the cab floor. Install the lock nut (1) and tighten.
Adjust as needed.

mounting bolts (2). Torque the nuts to 560 N⋅m
(414 ft. lbs.). 2

Install the access hole cover plates (2) over the

35. Install the fuel tank breather hose and clamp (1)
to the LH side of the cab.

Install the nut (1) to the ground strap (2).

nuts (4) to the clamps on both sides of the tractor.

hose mounting clamp (3). Tighten the bolts. 5

40. Connect the batteries negative terminal.
41. Inspect the hydraulic oil level and top off the fluid
level.
42. Start the tractor and inspect the hydraulic lines 1
for any leakage. Repair leakage if found.

4. Install the center cab lifter (1) on the cab lifter end

NOTE: The center cab lifter (1) must slide in the
groove of the end piece (2).

10. Tighten the four cab lifting fixtures nuts (1).
11. Raise the cab approximately 76 mm (3 inch).

12. Inspect the tie wraps, brake lines, hoses, 1

these components.

13. Raise the cab to a total height of approximately 77
280 mm (11 inch).

WARNING
Do not raise the cab higher than 280 mm (11 inch).
If the cab is raised higher than 280 mm (11 inch),
tractor damage or personal injury may occur.

14. Install the cab stands on the tractor frame on both
sides of the cab, front (1) and rear (2).
15. Install the four 3/4 inch bolts (3) included in the 2
special tool kit through the cab stands (1) and (2)
and cab frame (4) then fasten the cab stands with

1. Attach the hoist to the cab.
2. Remove the four 10 x 5/8 inch bolts (1) and
washers (2) from the cab mounts (3).

4. Remove the cab stands nuts (5). Remove the


four 3/4 inch bolts (3) from the cab stands (1) and
(2) and cab frame (4).

6. Lower the hoist approximately 76 mm (3 inch).

7. Install the tie wraps that were removed during the
lifting of the cab. Inspect the brake lines, hoses, 4

9. Lower the hoist until the top cab mounting 1
brackets touch the cab frame mounting brackets.
10. Install the bolts in the cab mounting brackets.

11. Install the flow control cable ends on the
implement valve (3). Tighten the set screws (1) 2
on all three of the flow control cable ends (2).
NOTE: The flow control knobs are color coded to
match the implement valve. Adjust the flow control as
needed per valve.

13. Install the bolt (3) in the cable end (2). Install the 5

to 560 N⋅m (414 ft. lbs.).

Install the RH and LH access hole cover plates
(2) on the engine end of the cab floor.

nuts (4) to the clamps on both sides of the tractor.

25. Start the tractor and inspect the hydraulic lines

CAB MOUNTS

Removal
NOTE: It is recommended if replacing one cab mount
assembly that all four of the cab mounts be replaced.

1. Park the tractor on a level surface, set the parking


brake, and remove the keys from the ignition.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cables as
detailed in Section 55 - Electrical.
3. Raise the cab as described previously in this
section, but do not install the four 3/4 inch bolts
included in the special tool kit.
4. Remove the mount assembly (1) from the tractor.

Installation
1. Install the new mount assemblies (1) on the
tractor cab flanges.
2. Lower the cab as previously described in this 10005293
section.

3. Torque the hardware in the kit mount assemblies
to 560 N⋅m (413 ft. lbs.).
