1. PURPOSE
Buddy referral policy aims to encourage and reward Tech M Associates for their successful efforts
towards helping the organization in recruitment of the right talent at the right time.
Eligibility: All Associates of Tech M (including Fixed Term / Direct Contract) can refer their Buddy’s
against suitable Open Demand in Bands U2 to E1 & RG1
Exclusions: Following class of Associates will not be eligible for Buddy Referral Incentive:
However, Buddy Referrals can still be submitted on the Buddy Portal by the above class of Associates.
i. Buddy Referrals can be submitted against all Lateral Open Demand in Bands U2 to E1 & RG1
(including for Fixed term contract (Direct contractors), as long as the contract duration is >= 9
months)
ii. The Buddy should not be a relative of the referrer. Here, the term ‘relative’ encompasses
Parents, Spouse, Children (including legally adopted ones) and Siblings.
iii. Buddy’s being referred should not have been employed with Tech M or its subsidiaries any
time in 12 months immediately preceding the referral.
iv. The referrer should not be on Selection Panel for the position for which the Buddy is being
considered, at any stage.
v. Maintaining Integrity is essential and therefore, this policy has been designed to ensure that
the Buddy being referred is known to the Referrer professionally so that we create a Talent
pool which will be a good fit to our requirements as opposed to misusing this platform by
picking up profiles from unknown sources.
vi. The referrer should not have a reporting relationship with the Buddy at the time of the Hiring
Assessment process
vii. Candidature of Buddy will remain valid for consideration against any opening for a maximum
period of six months (180 days) from the date of the screening by the Recruiter (i.e. Applicant
id creation Date as captured in the Buddy Portal). Thus, the Referrer would be eligible for
Buddy Bonus even if the Buddy doesn’t get selected against the opening for which the Buddy
was initially referred for, but gets selected subsequently (within this six months validity period)
for another opening.
5. NOMINATION PROCEDURE
i. Associates can log in to the Buddy Portal to view Open Demand (Onsite and Offshore)
a. Buddy Portal Path : PACE HR > Main Menu> Associate Self Service > Recruiting >
Buddy Home
ii. All referrals must be through Buddy Portal to be eligible for Buddy bonus. Referrer must provide
all relevant details in the portal. Profiles referred through any other means (for e.g. email, word
of mouth) will not be eligible for consideration under the Buddy Scheme
iii. Incorrect and / or incomplete details as captured on the Buddy portal by the Referrer may lead
to disqualification of Buddy bonus
iv. Initial screening of the profile will be done within 21 days of the posting of the profile
v. Profiles found suitable for further evaluation will be tagged as ‘Screen Select”
vi. In case a profile is not found suitable, the Recruiter will reject them and these will be termed as
“Screen Reject”.

7. PAYOUT CRITERIA
i. The Buddy bonus will be determined based on the Country / Band combination as mentioned in
Section 6 and the amount will be paid in the local payroll currency
ii. Following criteria must be fulfilled for payment of Buddy bonus:
iii. The Referred Buddy joins Tech M and serves for a minimum period of 90 days from the Date of
Joining
iv. Buddy performance meets the minimum expectations, without any PIP and / or Disciplinary action
during this 90 day period
v. Successful completion of Background Verification (BV) with a Green BV Status
vi. Both Referrer, as well as the Buddy must be on the rolls of the Company with neither of them
serving notice period at the time of payout
vii. Buddy Bonus pay-out will be subject to applicable tax deductions
viii. The Buddy Bonus is payable after the Buddy completes 90 days in Tech M subject to fulfillment
of all other criteria mentioned in this policy with the ensuing pay-roll cycle
8. INTERPRETATION AUTHORITY
i. For any queries on policy, Associates may raise a ticket in Hub or mail queries to
helpdeskbuddy@TechMahindra.com
ii. In case of any conflict, the decision of the RMG Head will be final and binding on all.
iii. Deviation to any of the policy specified in this document will require the approval of the RMG
Head.
