CLIENT BRIEF
Name- Sushma And Shrinidhi
Requirement:-
▪ An open plan with interconnected , interractive spaces that accomodates three bedroom for their parents , two kids
and themselves .
▪ Apart from from three main bedroom they also wanted two bedroom independent space which in future could be
used by ladies parents or could potentially be rented out.
▪ They wanted natural ,raw , organic look and feel to the house with a lot of green here and there .
▪ A parking space for three cars.

The whole house is interconnected Lots of green elements added Jali pattern created on façade using bricks
through double heighted courtyard within the spaces which brings in lot of natural lights

▪ Living area had a concrete built in seater which extends out to become a planter which shields large
glass window from the western sun
▪ It also has other loose furniture and fixed furniture .
▪ To keep the space light a plain textured wall with unit of drawers act as Tv unit

Orange colored sofa with blue runner and teak Cushioned padding had been added above the concrete
wood center table amplify the whole space but built in seater and the plants help to add more color to
also maintains the minimal tone the space and also protects from harsh sunlight
COURTYARD AND POOJA AREA
-FOCAL POINT OF HOUSE
▪ As we enter the house we see open to sky , double heighted courtyard .
▪ As the client wanted the spaces to be interconnected , this courtyard helped to introvert the
whole house and the spaces responds into this courtyard.
▪ A small pooja room is located next to courtyard.

KITCHEN AND DINING AREA
▪ Next to courtyard is an open kitchen with large island counter which in turn drops to become a dining

▪ Dining seating includes two chairs and one elongated bench .

SMALL COURTYARD
-BEHIND DINING AND KITCHEN SPACE
▪ Courtyard wall also act as a outer facade of house and hence is covered with bricks.
▪ As the courtyard is behind dining and kitchen it brings a lot of light to the space .
▪ The jail pattern was created by placing the bricks diagonally which also bringing privacy to the space .
▪ The small courtyard was open to sky and had concrete pargola on top which allowed rain inside the space
and helped in bringing lot of light and ventilation into the space

PARENT BEDROOM
▪ On the south - west was parent
bedroom which had built in seater

whole house .

and fixed furniture as bed , tv unit ,
wardrobe .

STAIRCASE AND LIBRARY
▪ There is a two inch folded plate staircase provided in the transition area through which we climb to the
next level .
▪ The staircase has metal railings which is continued and overlapped to the metal library tucked next to
staircase .
▪ Opposite to the staircase is a cozy studying nook

KIDS BEDROOM
▪ The kids bedroom has fixed seater near the window that
opens into the double height courtyard.
▪ Kids bedrooms has sloping roof that allowed to create a
mezzanine floor within the room which doubles up as
space for them .
▪ The sloping roof helps to scale down the height of the
building .
▪ In the room floor seating along with low height table has
been provided for kids to study or play around .

MASTER BEDROOM
▪ On other side we have master bedroom with an elaborate
dresser and attached toilet .
▪ It is a linear compact bedroom with a built in bed with
windows opening into the courtyard allowing interaction
at different times of the day .
SEMI COVERED TERRACE
▪ A very usable terrace which they can use to entertain guest and can have small social
interaction with people .
▪ Here we have louver doors and windows made of teak wood and painted in white to all
maintain minimal theme.
▪ Floor level near the seating has been raised and a u shaped planter box has been provided .
