Singapore’s Policy Response to COVID-19. Impact of COVID-19 on Asian Economies

and Policy Responses.
Published on January 2021

The Global World is still experiencing the economic shock caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Singapore's well-detailed response is one of the best keys on how to cope up with this virus.
Coronavirus did not only affect the health of the people also this virus contains many effects on
how much people lived before especially the economic condition. Draconian Tracing was
implemented in Singapore since the virus was confirmed on January 23, 2020. A week before
then February 1 the virus was quietly spreading that has confirmed eighteen cases since they
officially confirm the first cases in their country.

Government Facilities were implemented first in universities in Singapore to those close contact
have their place to live also the people who have been at lower risk were put down in (LOA)
Leave of Absence. Free COVID-19 testing was implemented for those people who have
symptoms and the people who are not yet showing symptoms are encouraged to self-quarantine
as well social distancing to make the virus not easily emerge in different places in
Singapore.COVID 19 will not expect that this so much has a negative impact. The GDP Gross
Domestic Product was forecast by Singapore’s Ministry of Trade Industry (MTI) would fall
0.5% up to 2.5 % and it revised down to -0.5 up to 1.5% these statistics have a conclusion that
COVID 19 hurts the economy. In the first quarter of the SARS Outbreak in 2003 gross domestic
product (GDP) was reduced by 0.3% also in the following quarter it reduced expansion up to
5.3%. The economy of Singapore in the past two decades experience the larger impact of this
virus it’s passed the old Global Financial Crisis in 2008. The government of Singapore
concluded a strategy to help businesses and self-employed to give incentives even if it is not a
hundred percent. Government balance the Gross domestic product to sustain the needs of the
people including Job support scheme, Wage credit scheme, and Care support package. Singapore
uses technical knowledge and scientific scheme to make the people have trust in what they going
be to do. The government provides an extra income for the frontline workers since they are the
one who faces the real impact of the virus.

Communication and have with purpose leadership is needed to govern people on how they cope
up with the situation. Prime minister Lee Hsien Song has been one of the best to govern their
citizens in their home country, When Singapore Ministry Trade industry announced on February
7, 2020, that( DORSCON)Disease Outbreak Response System Condition was going to orange
level means the virus was easily spread person to person. The Prime Minister held a public
advisory not to threaten the people but to inform the people how this virus was going to be if it is
continued and what is the place could they go if they have these symptoms rather virus so it
concludes that they can help each one of Singaporeans also they are aware in the situation.

A country that does the opposite of what Singapore does is the US they state that in the past
week they have zero cases that result in 2,000 confirmed cases and 50 deaths that will lead to the
worse effect that any country must not do. When a country's vision is to help and secure every
individual citizen they may do a wise and smart plan to have better results. They swiftly planned
to take action to make their country better in this conflict situation. Singapore policy response is
a good example of a response that every country in this world will follow since they are not
focusing on one result but has a vision of willingness to help every individual of their country
this makes conclude that Singapore's strategy is one of the best responses on how to cope with
this virus.

will lead to success new Zealand cannot avoid the impact of the economic slowdown since

percent the tourism sector was the most affected sector hit by the virus.

Employment is one of the sources of each one of us however COVID-19 is till experience
globally and economically. Tight lockdowns can cause great effects to reopen the business

The Covid-19 pandemic in Denmark: Big lessons from a small country.

Published on May 13, 2020

The Prime minister of Denmark held a public advisory that schools will be closed. Social
distancing and the guidelines strictly implemented by the government that is a must to slow
down the emerging widespread of the virus. The announcement of the Danish prime minister
was similar to the speech of the danish queen that Danes must be patient as well follow the
guidelines that will lead to a common good. In comparison, France citizens were not likely to
follow their government rules and regulation it was the opposite of how Danes think of their
government. Danes were known as a trust to their government rules and politicians. Danes have
a social responsibility as well it reflects the trust in their country. Danes are also known as a
friendly person but even if they are they still respect the rules of the government that was called
social distancing that will reduce the transmission of the said virus. Danes have a decent manner
on how to interact with other people the sample of this is they prefer hugs than to kiss as
greetings they do that in their closeness family also friends. In public Danes prefer social
distancing public than having physical touch with other people and it will help to reduce the
spread of the virus. Denmark citizens were called danish they are known as cozy like the neat
person and simple things make them enjoy their life more. Conclude that danish citizen has this
part in their blood that happens in their daily life. The Ceo of the happiness of institute research
was named Meik Wiking, Danes prefer to stay at home than to stay outside this will lead to easy
Danes to cope with the current situation. It will be not difficult to cope with this situation since
their culture is exact to the current situation. On the part of Europe in the south countries do the
opposite of what the danish do since southern Europeans prefer to stay outside than to stay at
home. It result that Denmark is the first European country that will slowly reopen to its society
but since covid-19 is uncertain they implemented still the lockdown to prevent the widespread of
the virus. The strategy of Denmark sees the result of having a culture that is exact to the current
situation also helps Danes to easily cope with the situation and it seems like Danes continue the
way of life before.

The Tourism sector has a big role in terms of unemployment, education, and Global Trade.

in this sector that will lead to the most vulnerable. This article can help on how they can each
country easily cope up with the current situation. Being unemployed because of the urgent

socioeconomic statuses the better can provide as much as they can but the poor students may
provide even if they are willing to learn yet they are still struggling with the current situation.
The seniority-based payment system states that among the other workers in south Korea
teachers’ salaries were not changed but the maintenance of the schools was the most vulnerable
since they cannot receive as the teachers paid. So since the issue was raised to the government on
May 23 cafeteria workers for the reopening of the school as well can receive the additional
training provided by the government. A fundraising campaign launched by the Korean Teachers
and Education Workers (KTU) aims to provide the student who has been affected negatively by
the Covid-19 in place of Daegu. Almost USD 100,000 was accumulated to the campaign that
will conclude teachers has a great impact on how they can improve more the learning system to
does who are most affect by the current situation. South Korea's approach has been praised by
the foreign media because of how they combat the virus. A public strong health care system has
a successful result to conclude that health system and education is most important than the
profits.

of each individual. Students have different levels of status in their life it concludes that financial
status can affect how the students can learn rather than adopt the digital new learning system.
This part of the research can help how and what are the types of educational system that can be
adopted of each every student. Being accumulated forces can have a big impact on how can the
most vulnerable students can be adapted to the changes. Having equipment in the education
learning system can have students easily cope with the situation. Providing for the needs of every
student has a big role in how they can be adopted easily in this situation.
