In International News…

 Prof. Colin Humphreys, a scientist at the University of Cambridge in England is

challenging that the long celebrated Last Supper of Jesus Christ on Maundy (the

Thursday before Easter) is saying that it instead took place on the Wednesday before

the Crucifixion. He thinks this was due to a calendar mix-up. To pinpoint the exact timing

of Jesus’ final meal, Humphreys used a combination of biblical, historical and

astronomical research. Humphreys' theory is that Jesus went by an old-fashioned Jewish

calendar rather than the official lunar calendar that was in widespread use at the time of

his death and is still in use today, AFP reports.

 The first time in 46 years Cuba’s nation will not have Fidel Castro on the communist

year-old vice president. As their names were called for membership in the Central

Committee, each newly elected official stood up, revealing a mix of young and old,

including many women and Cubans of African descent. There were also a number of

generals and other senior armed forces officials.
