Questions:

1. Are there other principles not applied by the teacher nor listed in the table? If yes write them on the space
3
provided.

The other principle that is not applied by the teacher nor listed in the table is connecting the
knowledge through video clips or any motivational photos because the more meaningful and
appropriate connections students make between what they know and what they are learning,
the more permanently they will anchor new information in long-term memory and the easier it
will be for them to access that information when it's needed.

2. What skills are developed/enhanced during the learning process?

The basic skills developed/ enhanced during the learning process are listening skills, writing
skills, number skills, and computer or technological skills because in the video, they are listening
to what their teacher is saying, they are writing the numbers that were being asked, and they
can operate simple technological tasks.

3. What did the teacher do to enhanced/developed the needed skills?

To enhance/ develop the needed skills, the teacher is always repeating the mathematical tasks
just for the students to master. She also made sure that the students are actively learning
through answering and reading the number sentences.

Directions: Identify the strategy/technique used by the teacher throughout the learning process. Write
or attach proof/s below the column of either inductive method of teaching or deductive
method of teaching. 5
Procedure Strategy/Technique
Motivation As the motivation of the lesson, the teacher started by giving some rules to
keep the class orderly followed by asking the pupils if they studied the
subtraction signs and if they had read subtraction sentences.

Presentation of the lesson The teacher presented the lesson by using an inductive method, as she
showed instructional materials containing subtraction sentences with pictures
as a set of examples showing how the concept is used.

Development of the lesson After presenting the lesson, selected pupils must count the objects shown in
the instructional materials and write it down in the box, hence the creation of
subtraction sentences. It is good that the teacher is familiar with the names of
her students to be able to get their attention in case they are not listening or
when they must answer the teacher’s question.

Generalization/ Closure/ Drawing The teacher asked the pupils to read what they had written in the instructional
insights materials to create a subtraction sentence. She made the student read
altogether. Then, she complimented every pupil for doing a great job as they
are still kids, they need compliments to be able to keep motivated and keep
their eagerness to learn something new.

Enrichment/ Application/Fixing Skills To enrich the knowledge of the students in subtracting, she used an inductive
method as she made them count how many objects are shown in the
instructional materials as well as how many are crossed down to take away the
numbers, then asked them to write it down in the correct position. When they
already wrote the numbers, she asked the pupils to solve it on their own and
flash it to the screen.

Assessment/evaluation To assess/evaluate students’ knowledge about the lesson the teacher used
individual assessment or recitation

Agreement/Assignment Before ending their lesson, the pupils are given another set of activities as their
assignment to be answered on their own. And to make sure that they really
answered it by themselves, their parents would have to take a picture of them
doing the assignment, and that will serve as the evidence that they have
learned something in their one-hour lesson.

Answer the following questions:

Are the learning principles applied by the teacher appropriate with the nature of the learners and learning conditions?
Why/Why not?
The learning principles that have been applied by the teacher was appropriated for the students. Along
the line, she used a learning principle that suit to the various type of students, in addition she also used
a principle that rectified and configured the different learning styles of students. The way that the
teacher explained and discussed in front of students is the best way to catch the mind-numbing
situation for the students. It was indeed an appropriate principle; the teacher knew as well how to
communicate properly to the students.

Did you observe passive learners? If yes, what might be their reasons why they are passive/silent?
In a classroom we can't avoid someone who is a passive learner. There's always someone who have been entitled to that.
According to my observation, I have noticed a passive learner that's why it is very challenging for a teacher to deal with the
various learning styles with the different stereotype. The main reason why they are passive or silent might be they are shy,
and they can't express their feeling very well, but despite of being passive they are still participated in the class activities.

Are the communication strategies used by the teacher appropriate to the level of the learners? Justify?
Yes, because the teacher adopts several techniques to communicate with students in a new way of teaching which is
OC/Online Class. These include verbal instructions and picture cues. Together, the students and teacher have developed a
new set of classroom expectations. She also uses instructional materials for her activity at the same time in her lesson to help
students understand what is expected.  She has developed strategies to participate and engage pupil's attention.

4 If you are the teacher, what possible learning principle(s) and strategy(ies) would you apply to elicit meaningful
learning?
7
A perfect teacher should always know that every student has their own way of learning effectively and
fast. Focus on the subject matter and the students learning. The main idea of being a teacher is to
transfer their knowledge to students in a way that enables them to retain that same knowledge. The best
way to improve this is to remember that this work is about the students. Make sure that every lesson has
a something new because children now a days is impatient.

Reflect

1. Among the principles of learning, which one is the most important for you?
Substantiate your answer.
For me, the most important learning principle is the " Learning is a cooperative and a collaborative
process. Learning is enhanced in an atmosphere of cooperation and collaboration. " Whether it's inside the
traditional classroom or in an online classroom (virtual class), Cooperation and collaborative are things that
we must consider, especially for the young students or elementary grade students because it increases
students' engagement, motivation and can help improve their performance. As well as it is more effective
than passive listening, reading, or watching media on their own/ isolation. Aside from that, children are having
fun doing group/collaborative activities while learning something.

2. What insight did you learn from the class activities that you have observed?

From the class I've watched, I've learned that Teachers should really make use of the various tools like
discussions, quizzes, presentations, activities, and fun games related to your topic in order to encourage
active participation. And it's important to call every student in the class, make them recite/answer to
build camaraderie with the students.

their teacher. Cold calling was utilized also during their discussion and activity.

3. What management strategy did the teacher utilize to keep the learning environment safe and conducive?

The classroom management strategy that the teacher utilized to keep

the learning environment safe and conducive is cold calling. In this way, the
teacher always selects who should respond next by name. Students anticipate

My Analysis 0

Answer the following questions:

When do you consider a facility useful or not?

We/ I can say that a facility is useful when it helps to improve the students' as well as
teachers’ success. For example, a classroom. If classrooms are equipped with modern
teaching technologies (computer learning aid) then it increases the engagement of students
and make it easier for the teachers to deliver better education.

When do you say that a facility aids learning? Cite some instances.

A facility helps learning if it arouses the interest of learners and help the teachers to explain
the concepts or lessons easily.

What is the impact of environment to the learners?

Our environment or surroundings greatly affect the way we study. If a student has
a positive learning environment like bright posters inside the room, organized spaces/ clean
rooms cooperative learning arrangements, safe playground, and friendly school then it
creates a situation wherein it increases students' attention and focus on class as well as
promotes meaningful learning experiences. On the other hand, a negative learning
environment can lead to stress, low confidence, unmotivated to listen inside the class or
discussion and worst is violence or bullying.

What kind of classroom management is conducive to learning? 1
I believe that the type of classroom management that aids to learning is authoritative classroom
management style. Because it says that it's a balance of teacher control and student
involvement. And in here, students are encouraged to participant and collaborate with their
classmates. More importantly, the teacher values student input and feedback on how they feel
about their learning environment and ideas that can be incorporated to make it better.
Therefore, student outcomes in this classroom management are positive.

My Reflection

1. Would you like to teach in the school environment you just observed/remembered? Why? Why not?
 . As a teacher it is our obligation to intact knowledge and exuding prowess to the learners. If I were to
teach, I would go for an environment where I have observed. In a sense that, I already have the ideal for
what kind of environment, school and as well as students I will be dealing with. In conjunction to that, it
enables me as well to be with students that I have observed for the rest of my practiced teaching. It would
be a great opportunity to be part of that certain school, but it would be greater privilege to teach where I've
observed with.

2. If you are the teacher, how can you make the environment conducive to learning?
 The product of a peaceful mind is a peaceful environment. Conducive environment is always inclined to a
teacher as noblest profession, that’s why if I would rather choose to teach in a conducive environment.
Because based on my analytic thinking, It have a greater impact to the learners to engage themselves in
many more academic aspect. Conducive environment will help the mind of learners to be more studious.

3. How do classroom management impact learning?

 Learning cannot flourish in a mismanaged classroom environment. A successful classroom management
system will help prevent teacher burnout and reduce the need for yelling, scolding or other stressful
discipline methods that cause friction between teacher and students. This kind of environment enhances
learning, as well as social/emotional development.

4. If you are to design a learning environment for your would students, how will it look like? Illustrate
 As a future educator I would like to design a learner-centered environment for my students. Because this
environment pay attention to the needs of the student. Students bring culture, beliefs, behavior, skills, and
knowledge to the learning environment. As a learner-centered teacher it is my responsibility to build a
conceptual and cultural knowledge for each of my students. In this kind of environment, it involves
discussion where the students do much of the talking and construct their own meaning based on prior
knowledge and experiences.

elementary grade students with or without intrapersonal intelligence. Because they find
it hard to relate to the content if there's no interaction among with the learners.

But, for the video that we've watched or observed the Teacher excellently done
her job. She used Math subject or to be exact, subtraction sentence/s. At the very
beginning, she greeted everyone. Also, before she starts the class, the teacher tells her
students to use “thumbs up” sign to determine if they are listening or not, and if the
students understood what the teacher is saying. Then suddenly someone from the class
says that he's tired ("teacher, I'm tired") when in fact, the class had just started. But they
continue their lesson. She lets everyone to read aloud the subtraction sentences and, she's
asking them one by one to make sure that they understand it very carefully. Furthermore,
during discussion she uses Flashcards, and I/we can say that this is an effective way
because it makes the children more attentive to class. And almost all her students were
able to answer and understand the lessons. Lastly, after the lesson, teacher gave a
seatwork that she will send to the parents of children and will answer on their own only.

It wasn't easy to teach especially in today's time of pandemic. But I can say that it
is overwhelming or nice to feel that even in this situation, you're still able to provide
information even if it is only through the use electronics or technology.

Read the following carefully before you begin to observe a virtual class. Then write your observation report
on the space provided.
During a virtual class:

1. How much interaction is there in the virtual classroom? Describe how the students interact with one
another and with the teacher virtually. Are there groups that interact more with the teacher than others?

Since it is an online class, there is minimal interaction that happens.

Where the teacher interacted with her students by asking some questions
regarding the information that she presented and encouraging the students to
compute and write their answers on their own paper. The students, on the
other hand, interacted with one another by showing their answers to their
classmates.

2.Observe the learner’s behavior during the conduct of the online class. How do they behave and interact
differently?

Learners know how to listen to the instructions of the teacher but sometimes
they are talkative in a way that the teacher’s voice isn't clear anymore due to the
noise created by the students. They are so energetic and participative. Since the
attention span of the children is too short, the teacher used gestures to show when
the students need to stop talking and should be listening.

3. Describe the relationship among the learners. Do the learners cooperate with or complete against each
other?
2
There is no competition that took place in the online class. They are all 8

cooperative and friendly to one another where they are willing to help their
classmates who don't know the answer to the question being asked.

4. Who among the students participate actively? Who among them ask for most help?

All the students actively participated in their class. There are just some
students that needed some encouragement to continue joining the discussion
because he said that he is already tired even though the class has just started, so,
the teacher used the technique of “helping a friend” where she called other students
to answer her question so that the other student can take a rest and think for a while.

5. When the teacher is called and cannot answer the teacher’s question, do the classmates try to help
him? Or do they click raise hand button, so that the teacher will call them instead?

There are some instances where students voluntarily help their classmate
answer the teacher’s question and sometimes, the teacher also calls the name of a
student who she thinks may know the answer or wants to answer.

Identify the person who play the key roles in the relationships and interactions in a virtual

an attention seeker, a little teacher, a doubter/ pessimist?

 The person who plays the key roles in the relationship and interaction in a
virtual classroom is the teacher because she is the number one source of
message/information to make an interaction in a virtual classroom. The pupils
play a vital role also in the virtual classroom because they serve as a receiver

How does the teacher influence the class interaction considering the individual differences of
the students in a virtual classroom?

The teacher influences the class interaction by giving an instruction to listen

attentively. The teacher considers also the parents to assess their children and help them to
understand the teacher’s instructions. As we can see the teacher is repeating the question

1. How did you feel as you observe the virtual classroom? Did you feel a sense of
oneness or unity among the learners and in between the teacher and the learners in
a new normal classroom setting?

As we observed the virtual classroom, we feel excited in adjusting to the new

normal setting and a little bit frightened. Excited, because the passion to teach is so
overwhelming that whatever comes in our way, nothing can stop us to teach our
learners and share our knowledge to them. And frightened, because of the hindrances
between the teacher and the learner which is the Covid -19 pandemic where we can’t
have face to face class rather, we are only using our gadgets like cellphone and laptop
for us to meet. It is very challenging to both the teacher and the learners, but we feel the
oneness or unity among them in a new normal classroom setting because it is a must.
They need to collaborate so that education will prevail.

2. In the future, how would you want the learners in your virtual classroom to
interact? How will you, make it happen?

Soon, I want the learners in my virtual classroom to interact with me and

with one another by asking questions about the subject matter, sharing personal
experiences, and showing love and care. I will make it happen by giving
collaborative group work activity and by having openness with one another, trust,

1

At the end of this activity, the FS student must be able to achieve the following intended learning outcomes:
a) differentiate the characteristics and needs of learners from different development levels; and
b) choose effective strategies to address the diverse needs of the learners according to their developmental levels.

LEARNING OVERVIEW:
Activity3- PPST Domain 3: Diversity of Learners provides the opportunity to observe learners of different ages and grade
levels virtually. It highlights the differences in their characteristics and needs. As a future educator, it is important to determine
learners’ characteristics and needs so that you will be able the implement learning activities and assessment that are all
developmentally appropriate.

Observation/Interview/View

Read the following carefully before you begin with this then write your observation report on the space provided.

1. Record the data you gathered about the learners’ characteristics and needs in this matrix.
2. Shadow a learner from preschool, elementary and high school during the conduct of their online/ modular
class.
3. This will allow you to compare the characteristics and needs of learners at different levels. The items under
each domain are by no means exhaustive. These are sample indicators you may add other aspects which
you may have observed.

Physical
Gross-motor skills Playground play
An example of activity that include gross motor skill is playground play. It is
important for major body movements such as walking, maintaining balance,
and coordination. These abilities share connections with other physical
functions. Such skills are important for play, sports, and fitness.

Fine-motor skills Art classes

Art in a class is a great benefit for children so that they can learn to write,
paint, draw and freely expand their imagination with the help of art subject.
Using the art subject expands their minds to think about what they are going
to paint, and they are free to interact with their classmates.

Self-help skills Proper hygiene

By teaching proper hygiene children become more confident because they
know they are clean; they will be more active in their class, and they will be
freer to move because they have no idea of destruction to their bodies.

Social
Interaction with teachers Recitation
- The purpose of recitation is to help teachers interact with students and
learn how to apply the information they've learned in lecture. It is important,
however, for students to be actively involved in the recitation.

Interaction with classmates Assignments

-In-class assignments where students think individually about a question, talk
to their peers about an idea, and then report their findings back to the class.
These think-pair-share exercises work best when there are multiple answers 3
to a question (nurturing and valuing divergent thinking). 3

Interest Arts/ Drawing

Through the arts, students develop skills like resilience, grit, and a growth
mindset to help them master their craft, do well academically, and succeed in
life after.

Emotional
Moods and temperament, expression The teacher will discuss to the class about different emotions that human
of feeling and any other living things can feel. Teach them how to be sensitive enough
to handle one’s emotion because not everyone feels the same thing. And
that negative emotions can lead to negative actions and every action has
different consequences. So, handle your emotions carefully.

Emotional independence Create a gratitude journal- somewhere that the child can write
something for which they are feeling grateful that day. Keeping a
gratitude journal helps children increase their self-awareness and
self-management; this daily time to express gratitude allows
children to reflect on their lives and focus on positive aspects.

Cognitive
Communication skills Turn taking
-One of the most basic building blocks of a good conversation is learning to
take turns. They use an object, such as talking stick as a signal for turn
taking. Teach your students that when they have the object, it is their turn to
talk or pass while others are expected to listen. It is a good idea to involve
students in other activities that practice the skill of turn taking.

Thinking skills Pause and wait

-Offering your student ample time to think, attempt a task, or generate a
response is critical. This gives your students a chance to reflect on her
response and perhaps refine, rather than responding with their very first gut
reaction.

and the Curriculum 9
LEARNING OVERVIEW
The demands of the global community are climbing up to its zenith as time goes by. In line with the visions and
missions of all the schools, state universities and colleges, individuals are taught to regulate self-learning, level up the skills in
problem solving, immerse on the duties in the society, hone the character and personality, so that they will be able to provide
what is needed by the entire nation.

We defined curriculum simply as a set of learning engagement tailored to nurture every learner’s passion indulging
them to different experiences to make learning more authentic and effective. Teachers are the prime movers in the educative
process and their goals are to fill their minds with such knowledge, touch their hearts with core values such as of the good
manners and right conduct, and equip their bodies with sufficient potentials leading them to success. A curriculum does not only
entail lawfully implemented strategies, rules, policies, and guidelines, there is what is also termed “hidden.” To specify, it is a
type of curriculum that encompasses the planned implementations of the school. It refers to a kind of learning not gained by the
teachers who teach the subjects nor the other activities that are partly extra-curricular. It comes out from socializing with others,
from the uncontrolled situations, and of course, from the practices involved in values education.

scientific processes and skills, and developing and demonstrating
scientific attitudes and values. The acquisition of these domains is
facilitated using the following approaches: multi/interdisciplinary

6. After you observe/view a recorded online class, what did you notice about the flow of activities and the 4
congruence of each activity to the objective/intended learning outcome? Elucidate your answer. 3

After we observed or viewed a recorded online class, we noticed that the flow of
activities starts with the recalling of the past lesson, motivation, lesson proper, and lastly, the
teacher gave assessment. The teacher then noticed that not all of her students are attentive
that’s why she gave enrichment activities in order for them to understand further the lesson that
is being discussed by the teacher. Each activity in the online class has intended learning
outcomes and that is to know and distinguish the different parts of subtraction formula such as
the minuend, subtrahend, and difference. Another objective is to write subtraction number
sentences and calculate for the given mathematical problems.

Answer the following questions:

How did you know that there exists such curriculum in the DepEd Schools/ Laboratory schools?
The new curriculum initially gained ground in 2011 with the enactment of RA 10157, which made
compulsory kindergarten education for children at least 5 years old. With the additional two years in high
school, the K-12 program aims to prepare students for college, future employment, and entrepreneurship. K
to 12 will be implemented so that students can become even more proficient in their knowledge. Because the
goal of k to 12 is for students to have time so that they can master their skills. And until now there are still k to
12 which is 6 years in elementary, 4 years in high school, 2 years in Senior high and 4 years in college. And
these are the evidence that prove that k to 12 still exists until now.

How can educational experiences be effectively organized and contribute to the attainment of objectives/ intended
learning outcomes? 4
4
No one ever mastered a skill on a first try unless, you practice. We learn in our time, at our own pace,
we are learning in different ways. Just like our educational experiences how can be effectively organized and
contribute to the attainment of objectives and learning outcome. If the educational experiences are suit or
connected to your field of specialization it can help you to easily organized objectives. Also, if you mastered
your teaching profession it will properly attain various knowledge and skills that can contribute to the attainment
of objectives or intended learning outcomes. For instance, if you find your student think and talk about what
they have learned, your stated learning goal is effective. Lastly, improved and prepared yourself and goal in
everything.

From the lesson plan analyzed, evaluate the resources and compare it with the resources in the virtual learning
environment.
A lesson plan is the instructor's road map of what students need to learn and how it will be done effectively
during the class time. It serves as a teacher’s teaching guide so that it is not confused or to know the sequence of
their discussions. But based on my experience when I demonstrated, sometimes I don't follow the order of my
lesson plan because it takes time to scold your students, to answer your questions like that. So sometimes what has
to be answered in school has become an assignment. And in the Virtual Class, A virtual classroom is a video
conferencing tool where instructors and participants engage with each other and with the learning material. From
what we observed here, I don't think the teacher's lesson plan was followed very well. If you can see in the Video,
some students are doing other things than listening, then sometimes the time is extended to reprimand the students.
And I also noticed that from start to end what the Teacher did was just answer subtractions using flashcards to his
students. And she didn’t discuss much anymore. It can be said that face-to-face learning is better than online
classes because students are getting a hard time coping up as well the teachers so there's still a lot to learn.

Questions:

1. Which of the listed assessments are formative in nature? Justify your answer.

On their assessment, the teacher shows a problem, and the pupils will answer it
(question and answer, flashcards). This kind of assessment will help the pupils to become
active and obedient. And lastly, it will establish the nature of pupils to have a teachable heart.

Questions

1. What guidelines on test construction and art of questioning did the teacher 5
consider in each assessment activity? 2

Teachers are faced with writing objective tests. The main types of objective questions that
teachers typically choose to include is fill-in-the-blank.

Fill-in-the-blank questions are a common type of question due to their ease of creation and
usefulness in classes across the curriculum. They are considered an objective question
because there is only one possible answer that is correct.

Interview a teacher from the DepEd and/or the PSU-LIS, ask how they
compute learners’ grades and what criteria do they consider, also ask
how the grades or performance are reported to parents. Record the result
of your interview here.

Learner’s grades were computed based on their written works such as activities and quizzes,
summative assessments, and performance tasks were graded using rubrics.
The grades or performance of the learners is reported to parents every grading period using numeric
ratings. Learners' strengths and weaknesses are also discussed with parents to be able to help the
learner in their difficulties.
The distribution of percentages of the overall academic performance of the students are as follows:
Written works which include quizzes and summative tests is 40%, and Performance Tasks is 60%.
They are computed based on total points multiplied with the percentage. Weighted scores will be
added together to obtain the initial grade with decimal points. Final grade is obtained from rounding
off the initial grade. Final grade is written in whole number.
Percentage of grade depends on the subjects, whereas 40% written works and 60% performance task
include Mother Tongue, Filipino, English, Araling Panlipunan and Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao. 50%
written works and 50% performance task include Mathematics, 30% written works, and 70%
performance task include MAPEH

Answer the following questions:

Why is there a need to evaluate learning?

》 It is needed to make an evaluation or to evaluate the learning of every student. Why? Because it determines
whether the student/pupil met the expected goal (objective). Aside from that, Evaluate/Evaluation is part of the lesson
plan that we really need to consider when teaching. And its purpose is to make judgement about the lesson whether
it's effective or there is something to improve.
》 And of course for the teacher to know if his students understand and learned something in his class. Because
through the evaluation it can determine whether the child is not just listening but learning to what his teacher is
teaching or not.

Do teachers need to record results of formative and summative assessments? Why or why
not?
》 It is an essential for every teacher to keep a record of their students. The records or results of every
assessments  can be used to find where you lack in within your teachings or among your students.
For the formative assessment, you can record it if you want to as a teacher but it is not needed to be graded since the
formative assessment serves only as practice for your pupils just like impromptu quizzes or questions before the
discussion of topic/lesson so that students weaknesses/strengths can be identify.
On the other hand, summative assessment really need to record as well as graded because it's purpose is to evaluate
the student at the end of program or school year. Aside from that, it determines if the student learned from the lesson,
you've taught them or not.

In the assessment that was administered, do you think the teacher prepared a table
specification. Elucidate your answer.
We think, the teacher prepared a Table of Specifications (TOS). One of the most
important things that a teacher needs to prepare in conducting an assessment is the
TOS. It is a two-way chart which describes the topics to be covered by a test and the
number of items or points which will be associated with each topic. A TOS ensures
alignment of test with learning outcomes

4 How did the teacher align the task in the assessment tools with the intended learning
outcomes?
5
》 The teacher executes an activity through flash cards which is related to their topic, 4
the subtraction sentence/s and the elementary students are required to solve or
complete the given problem. And it shows how well the students have learned by
actively participating through giving the correct answer.

5 Did the teacher use scoring rubrics to evaluate the students’ performance? Describe how
it was utilized?

Yes, the teacher introduced the performance task to the students and discussed the
rubrics that will be used in grading their performances. In our Assessment of Learning
1 and 2 subjects, we are taught about the two types of rubrics – analytic and holistic.
Analytic rubrics describe work on each criterion separately while holistic rubric assess
a student work as a whole. We also learned that a good scoring rubric contains the
criteria against which the product or performance is rated, the rating scale and a
description of the levels of performance

6 Did the learners encounter difficulty in answering the teacher’s questions? Why or why
not? Expound your answer.

Not so much.
》Based on what I observed in the online class, almost all her students participated
and answered correctly. There are those who are late to answer but somehow can
answer and understood their lessons.

7 Did the teacher encounter challenge(s) during the computation and reporting of grades to
parents? If yes, what are these?
》 Educators around the world are facing unprecedented problems as a result of the 5
5
coronavirus outbreak. School closures and social isolation requirements have wreaked havoc
on students and their families, particularly those who have numerous children in different
grades, whose parents are unable to stay at home, whose English is not their first language,
and whose parents are also instructors. The first is that students must be encouraged and
supported in their studies. The second requirement is for students' learning to be documented
and quantified in order to be held accountable. However, the path is obvious for educators who
prioritize promoting and supporting student learning.

Reflect

1. As a millennial would be teacher, how can the assessment process help

you make learning more fun and more meaningful ?

As a millennial would be teacher, assessment process such as: clearly define and identify the learning
outcomes, select appropriate assessment measures and assess the learning outcomes, analyse the results of
the outcomes assessed, and adjust or improve programs following the results of the learning outcomes
assessed helps me make learning more fun and more meaningful because my knowledge about making varied
assessments is increasing as I am learning the different learning styles of my future students.

2. As a future teacher, how can you eliminate fear of assessment to your

students given this new normal mode of teaching?

As a future teacher, I can eliminate fear of assessment to my students given that this is a
new normal mode of teaching by having a conducive learning environment, being approachable to
them, guide them on their queries about the lesson, being considerate, and encourage them to
answer the assessment on their own for me to know if they learned a lot from me or not- because it
is for their own good.

3. If you are the teacher, what solution(s) could you offer to address the
challenges in evaluating students’ performance and giving feedbacks?
If I were the teacher, the solution(s) that I could offer to address the challenges in evaluating students’
performance and giving feedbacks are: I would give differentiated instructions to the students that best fits to
them if they can’t cope up easily, I would encourage them to engage themselves in doing activities, and if I
computed low grade of one of my students, I will directly address it to his/her parents about the situation of the
child and as his/her teacher and second parent, it is my duty to teach him/her in a positive way in order for
him/her not to be frightened.

How to Compute for Final Grades and General Average in DepEd K to 12 6
Grading System
Step 1: Grades from all student work are added up.
This results in the total score for each component, namely Written Work,
Performance Tasks, and Quarterly Assessment.
Raw scores from each component must be converted to a Percentage Score.
This is to ensure that values are parallel to each other.

3. If you are the teacher, how do you formulate a plan for your assessment tools in an
Step platform
online 2: The sum for each component is converted to the Percentage Score.
teaching?
To compute the Percentage Score (PS), divide the raw score by the highest
possible score then multiply the quotient by 100%. This is shown below:

Learner ' s total raw score

Percentage Score (PS) = ( )× 100 %
Highest possible score

Step 3: Percentage Scores are then converted to Weighted Scores to show the
importance of each component in promoting learning in the different subjects.

To do this, the Percentage Score is multiplied by the weight of the component

found in the table for Grades 1 to 10. The product is known as the Weighted
Score (WS).

Weighted Score (WS) = Percentage Score × Weight of Component

Step 4: The sum of the Weighted Scores in each component is the Initial Grade. 5
7
This Initial Grade will be transmuted using the given transmutation table to get the Quarterly Grade (QG).

Step 5: The Quarterly Grade for each learning area is written in the report card of the student.

Steps for Computing Grades

1. Get the total score for each component.

2. Divide the total raw score by the highest possible score then multiply the quotient by 100%.
3. Convert Percentage Scores to Weighted Scores. Multiply the Percentage Score by the weight of the
component indicated in Table 4 and Table 5.
4. Add the Weighted Scores of each component. The result will be the Initial Grade.
5. Transmute the Initial Grade using the Transmutation Table.

Narrative Report on Gulayan sa Paaralan at Tahanan Project 6

I. Introduction 9

In 2007 ‘’Gulayan sa Paaralan’’ was launched by the Department of Education in partnership with the
Department of Agriculture. This project promotes the value of school gardening as contribution to the feeding
program. It also raises awareness to have locally growths and crops that will benefit the whole community.
It encourages and promotes the school and the whole community on how we can have a source of living
despite of the COVID19 Pandemic. Gulayan sa Paaralan at Tahanan is one of the many possible ways that could
have a sustainable need for healthy being.
However, the objectives were somewhat put to have last school year because of the Covid-19 pandemic to the
mobility and resources of the institution. As this webinar, Looc Integrated School together with the city government
of Calamba and Department of Agriculture unveils the reinforcement of Gulayan sa Paaralan at Tahanan which
aims not only to promote gardening in campuses but also in the comfort of our home.

II. Objectives
1. To improve and increase vegetable production at home.
2. To establish and maintain gardens as ready food source of vegetables in sustaining
the daily needs.
3. To include among the learners and the community the values of gardening, good health,
love of labor and caring for others.

III. Accomplishments
The accomplishment of the Looc Integrated School Division of Calamba City’s Webinar with the theme/topic
of “Gulayan sa Paaralan at Tahanan” will promote an organic farming so that the food we serve or prepare for our
family is more nutritious because an organic vegetable or any other crops are healthier than those plants who are
chemically treated. Another accomplishment they have is helping us with regards of agriculture/agricultural
aspects, for us to learn the information they give about vegetables, planting and so on. To that in the future we’ll
be able to create our own garden not only in school but also in our home.
After the said webinar, the speakers which is Ma’am Julian M. Lanip, Ma’am Sally G. Quilay and Ma’am

IV. Narrative Report

Agricultural Education is the teaching of agriculture, natural resources, and land management. 7
Elementary agriculture is often taught in both public and private schools and can cover such subjects as how 0 plants
and animals grow and how soil is farmed and conserved. This webinar series of Looc Integrated School entitled
“BAYANIHAN PARA SA PAARALAN” shares a lot of topics and experiences on how to plant properly and how to build
a “gulayan sa paaralan at tahanan” that will help us during this time of pandemic. The first speaker shares the
(Gulayan sa Kabayanan) that promotes a healthy, safe, and organic vegetables which she called FAITH or Food
Always in the Home. Why do we need to plant and eat vegetables? It is simple because vegetables are easy to plant,
cheap and healthy that will help us strengthen our body despite of the threat of Covid-19. She discussed the different
vitamins and minerals we get in the different types of vegetables. For example, protein helps body building and tissue
repair we can get protein in the following vegetables like cauliflower, batao, bawang, kadyos, malunggay, monggo,
paayap, patani, saluyot, spinach, toge and sitaw. Next is the calcium helps strengthen the teeth and bones to prevent
osteoporosis we can get calcium in the alugbati, dahon ng gabi, kamote, kangkong, etc. Carbohydrates gives heat
and strength to our body the main source of carbohydrates is rice, but we can get some carbs in the bawang,
malunggay, patatas, and many more. Next is the water or body fluids all vegetables contain a lot of water. Vitamin A
nutrients for our eyes to prevent night blindness the best examples are kalabasa. Iron helps to prevent anemia we can
get iron in alugbati, carrots, pechay, etc. Vitamin C helps to prevent flu, cough, and colds and strengthen our immune
system we can get vitamin C in talinum, kamote, ampalaya and some other sour fruits. Also, we can get iodine from
asparagus, okra and sibuyas it helps to prevent goiter. Fiber to prevent constipation, gall stones, and colon cancer we
can get fiber in the batao, kamatis, patani, sigarilyas and soybean. She also dicussed the diiferent groups of the
vegetables.
On the second speaker Mrs. Sally G. Quilay, she delivered the different steps in planting. Mrs. Sally Quilay
indicate the first step was preparing the soil needed, which is very essential in planting. We can also put a fertilizer in
order to grow easily the plant. She indicates also the second step is preparing the water/check the needed water. This
serves as a composter of the nutrients inside the soil. Next step she indicates also the proper placement of soil on
direct sunlight to produce foods of the plant, place the plant in a proper setting, difference of it in order of their needs
and seasons. Next step prepares the seeds needed to plant, put clothes to easily grow the seeds, prepare the
separating plants into another soil for the purpose of avoiding the stress of the plant. And lastly take good care of the
plants to make it healthy. These steps are very helpful on how to make your plants healthy and fruitful.
Furthermore, the last speaker spoke about the five proper ways on how to make fruits and vegetables safer
and more secured. According to Ms. Badeth for us to be safe physically and to secure our health, we should abide the
different ways on how to clean our foods. She discussed first the use of boilling and grilling of vegetables. It is very
vital to apply this sanction. We must boil fruit and vegetables. Heat and water will help you reduce chemical residue. In
additional to that, is 10 drops of liquid detergent into one liter of water and use this to wash the vegetables. And we
must make sure to rinse the vegetables in running tap of water. In conjunction to that, used of mixing teaspoons of
vinegar into four cups of water to destroy chemicals are very effective way as well. And lastly, baking soda is also
effective in reducing chemical to our vegetables and fruits.
