Welcome to Curacao,

Attached is a listing to get you started with food shopping, beaches, diving, restaurants and sightseeing. While this only
represents a small fraction of what is available on the island, it’s a starter. You will be staying at Lagoon Ocean Resort, Unit
17A. Due to lack of demand, we do not maintain a land line. We strongly suggest activating the WhatsApp application on
your cell phone. This will allow you to call anywhere in the world for free (you do use data) as long as you have Wi-Fi
available. There is Wi-Fi at the resort as well as at most restaurants and large stores.

Curacao E-Gates: Travelers from the US, Canada and European Union should visit www.curacao.com and click on E-
Gates at least 24 hours before arrival and follow the steps. This is not mandatory but can save you valuable time clearing
Customs upon your arrival.

Directions from Airport: (about 30 minutes) Right out of the parking lot and follow the road to the circle, take the first
right out of circle and follow for it about 15 mins. A few minutes after passing the California Store (which is now closed),
look for a sign that says Lagun. Stay left at that fork and follow for 15 mins until you see Playa Lagun on your left. Lagoon
Ocean Resort is just past the signs for Bahia Apartments but we have no business relationship with Bahia in spite of their
sign.

Keys: Our caretaker is named Ivy and she lives across the street from the resort. When you arrive, put your back to the gate,
she lives in the salmon color house at what would be 2:00 o’clock if your arms were a clock. She will expect you about 2
hours after your flight is due to arrive. It is important to e-mail me with your flight arrival information. Ivy’s cell is 5999
667-1515 but her Wi-Fi is spotty. She will show you to your unit, give you keys and the code for the electronic gate opener
since the resort is a gated community. Please coordinate your departure time with Ivy.

A few suggestions: Before heading to the unit, if time permits, stop at Cost-u-Less open until 8 pm or Centrum
Supermarket open until 7 pm and stock up on some groceries, wine or beer. Its five mins from the Airport and this will
allow you to relax when you arrive at the unit. Instead of making the first right out of the circle, go straight across or exit at
the second right. At the next circle make a left and CostuLess will be about 1 mile on your right, or go straight at the prior
second circle and make a right at the first light for Centrum.

Money: Guilders are the local currency but U.S. dollars are accepted everywhere. The Guilder is tied to the U.S. dollar at
an exchange rate of 1.77. So roughly $6 = 10 Fl or Guilders. Most places will give you reasonable change in Guilders if
you pay in U.S. dollars but watch the street vendors. Oh yeah, always offer the street vendors or local merchants in Punda
less. Usually, there is some room to bargain.

Emergency: If you have a maintenance emergency, please call Andy at 011 5999 524-4143. We contract with him to
perform all our maintenance needs. You can also reach me at 001 201 323-0652.

Electricity: No need for European adapters, the current is the same as in the US (120v). We have adapters in the kitchen
drawers for our European guests.

The Resort: Please do not hesitate to walk over the Bahia terrace and use the steps to the sea. Our resort has an easement
permitting such use.

Housekeeping: Please do not flush anything else but “you know what” down the toilet. Please use the shower near the
pool to rinse the sand off your snorkeling or scuba gear. The septic system is a little fussy! No glass permitted at the
pool, we have plastic glasses for that. We provide clean towels for showers every three days and change the sheets/clean the
unit on the 7th day. We do not provide beach towels. There is not a washer/dryer in the unit or on the resort; however, Ivy
will be happy to do laundry for you for a reasonable charge. Be specific if you want them ironed or not.

Car Rentals: Thrifty, Alamo, Avis, National, Hertz and Budget are all located at the airport. Also, check out Sandy at
oostwest@hotmail.com. He will bring a rental car to the resort if you wish.

Wi-Fi: The resort maintains a Wi-Fi network. Password for the Lagoon network is welcome@lor

isla, es un comienzo. Se hospedará en Lagoon Ocean Resort, Unidad 17A. Debido a la falta de

E-Gates de Curazao: Los viajeros de los EE. UU., Canadá y la Unión Europea deben visitar
www.curacao.com y hacer clic en E-Gates al menos 24 horas antes de la llegada y seguir los pasos.

Llaves: Nuestra cuidadora se llama Ivy y vive al otro lado de la calle del complejo. Cuando llegues, da
la espalda a la puerta, ella vive en la casa color salmón a lo que serían las 2:00 en punto si tus brazos
fueran un reloj. Ella lo esperará aproximadamente 2 horas después de la llegada de su vuelo. Es
importante que me envíe un correo electrónico con la información de llegada de su vuelo. El celular de
Ivy es 5999 667-1515 pero su Wi-Fi es irregular. Ella le mostrará su unidad, le dará las llaves y el
código del abridor electrónico de la puerta, ya que el complejo es una comunidad cerrada. Coordine su
hora de salida con Ivy.

Algunas sugerencias: antes de dirigirse a la unidad, si el tiempo lo permite, deténgase en Cost-u-Less

cerca de la piscina para enjuagar la arena de su equipo de buceo o esnórquel. ¡El sistema séptico es un
poco quisquilloso! No se permiten vasos en la piscina, tenemos vasos de plástico para eso.
Proporcionamos toallas limpias para las duchas cada tres días y cambiamos las sábanas / limpiamos la
unidad el séptimo día. No proporcionamos toallas de playa. No hay una lavadora / secadora en la
unidad o en el resort; sin embargo, Ivy estará feliz de hacer la colada por un precio razonable. Sea
específico si los quiere planchar o no.

Alquiler de coches: Thrifty, Alamo, Avis, National, Hertz y Budget se encuentran en el aeropuerto.

desea.
