Why do you wish to study in Canada in the program for which

you have been accepted?
I have been accepted for Global Business Management program in
Georgian College, Barrie, Ontario. This program helps me to enhance the
ability in understanding the knowledge to International trade,
International Finance management, Business Accounting practices and,
Project Management which wasn’t covered in my previous education.
After intense research into colleges that provide the courses in this field,
I came across Georgian College. Canada has always been known for its
high educational standards and its openness towards inducting
international students. The course, syllabus and the facilities provided by
Georgian is of high standards and different from other countries. In fact,
Georgian is one of the highly ranked colleges in Canada. These factors
altogether led me to opt for Georgian College and studying in Canada.
2.How relevant is your program selection with your previous
education/experience or why you wish to switch career at this
point of time? What is your overall educational goal?

Talking about my educational goals, I have completed 10th with an 8.4

CGPA in the year 2010, 12th with 60% in 2012, I have completed my
Graduation in Bachelor of Business Administration with a 7.12 CGPA, and
MBA with a 7.1 CGPA. I have experience for more than one year in the
business field as a relationship manager in a stock broking company. I
wish to give a clarification regarding the course I have selected – Global
Business Management in Georgian College, Canada. The syllabus and
modules of GBM is partly same as my previous education. But GBM
provides more insight into International business, International Finance
Management and International Trade. And also, Georgian is an accredited
partner of the Forum for International Trade Training (FIIT) which helps in
acquiring knowledge about Export-Import and also about the foreign
exchanges. In my previous study I specialised more in domestic business
which is inadequate for a well-established company to hire me. Nowadays,
MNCs administer the International Business, exchange and trade, the
opportunities are gigantic all over my country. So, most of the companies
demanding specialisation in Global Business from UK or Canada. I chose
Canada because of its quality of education and expense incurred are much
more favourable. There is a growing need for business and management
graduates with an international perspective, who can operate effectively in
a globalized world. They want experts with knowledge of modern
techniques. Having a Degree in Global Business Management from Canada
add value to my CV which help me to get employed in a well-established
firm like Reliance, Tata, Larsen and Toubro. However, my long-term goal
is to start a new venture on Indian spices and export to other countries
with foreign investments.
3.Why are you not pursuing a similar program in your country of
residence or of citizenship? What research have you done into
studies in your country of residence or of citizenship?
For pursuing a course like Global Business Management, I felt a
multicultural environment would be more appropriate as it helps me in
understanding of different cultures which would be useful for my studies
on Global Business Management. When I search for a suitable destination,
I found Canada is the most appropriate choice for pursuing Global
Business Management. I also look forward to the global exposure that
studying in Canada would provide which will provide me an extra edge
while seeking employment back here in India with global corporates.
4. How will this program enhance your employment opportunities
in your country of residence or of citizenship?
There is been a significant spike in the Foreign Direct Investments in
India, many multinational companies establishing themselves across
major cities in India, and these companies are opting to recruit candidates
who has an exposure in International business management from Canada
or UK, and the skills keeping in mind all the advantages involved in hiring
them. The company gets an added advantage as they end up hiring a
person who can multitask well. In addition, as India being a booming
economy and is growing rapidly as a research and development hub for
MNC’s, it is important to master skills such as analytical and strategic
thinking to avoid crisis situation, problem solving and decision making,
planning, organizing, self-management, time management, team
management etc. I am sure that the qualification and exposure I
experience from Canada ensure better employment opportunities and a
successful career back in India. I can assure my imminent use of
opportunity given by the esteemed institution in Canada to become the
pioneer in the International business of my country.
5.What ties do you have to your country of residence or of
citizenship?
After completing my course, I will come back to my home country India. I
just want to make use of my skills in my home country. My parents wish
me to live and settle in my home country as they are just supporting my
higher education in Canada. My distant relatives and intimate friends are
living in my native place and I share an unbreakable bond with them. As
they also supported my education, I should get them to my presence in
the future and also fulfil my social obligation, providing financial and
emotional support to them.
6. How will you fund your studies?
My parents will support me financially to study in Canada. My father is a
businessman and my mother is into agriculture. Combining both their
incomes it is sufficient enough for them to financially support me
throughout these two years. It is the dream of my parents to give proper
education to me for that they have managed to save funds since years
back. Regarding my funds, I am aware that my total tuition fee is CAD
15,000 per year, and I have already paid to the College for my first year.
And my living expenses of 10,000 CAD have also been deposited in the
GIC program of CIBC. Also, I have saved around $6000 during my work
period and will use the same for my living and travel expenses.
7. What are the incentives to return to your home country?
Global Business Management program in Georgian College, Barrie, helps
me to enhance the ability in understanding the knowledge to International
trade, International Finance management, Business Accounting practices
and Project Management which wasn’t covered in my previous education.
After the successful completion of the course, I want to start my career as
International Business Consultant in India where I can utilize my
experience and skills I obtained from Georgian College. In India the job
opportunities for a Global Business Management graduates is higher than
for a normal MBA graduate. Many companies hiring International Business
management graduates as Project Managers, International Business
Development Manager, Export manager and International Business
Consultant with a lucrative salary.
Moreover, another reason is the emotional ties that I have with my
parents and friends. My family is a nuclear family where I and my
parents live together. This living pattern created a bond with my family.
My father is planning to enlarge his business in our hometown and for
that I need to back him physically and financially. And also, my parents
are planning my marriage after 2 years so after completing my course I
need to find a job in India. I’m sure that once I’m back in India after
completing my program, I will be highly valued by employers due to its
international credibility and will be able to find my desired job in a well-
established company. I am certain that education from the Georgian
College, Canada, will provide me with the right opportunity to achieve
my academic and career goals in India. I can assure my imminent use,
of course, given by the esteemed institution in Canada to become a
pioneer in management sector of my Country. And also, my father is
aging and soon he will retire from his business and will give full
authority to me, before that I need to find a job and help him to
develop his business. As Family wealth we have multiple properties in
my home country which will be inherited to me once I return to India.
