QUALITY ASSURANCE
LED-Pro is dedicated to offering top quality products and superior customer service. To make sure
we deliver on our promises, we ensure our products undergo a stringent qualification process.

So, what does this process involve?

Quality control facilities. We have highly trained engineering teams across North America and
Asia that oversee the product testing process, using their expertise to analyse both the materials
and systems used to manufacture the products we sell

Supplier verification. Our engineering team ensures the suppliers we use pass a rigorous
131-point audit throughout the manufacturing process. In addition to using only certified partners,
we also independently verify the performance and safety of our products in our own laboratories.

Made to last. In our state-of-the-art testing laboratories, we run a series of lifespan and stress
tests, so when we say our lamps will last you over a decade, we mean it.

Environmentally responsible. As an industry leader, we hold ourselves accountable for

exceeding environmental stewardship expectations by choosing materials wisely and promoting
rescheduling and other EPA-regulated practices.

OUR CERTIFICATIONS
To ensure we only supply our customers with quality products that will stand the test of time,
it’s important they all meet important European standards.

You’ll see that all or our products carry CE, RoHS and/or TUV certifications. But what do these
mean for you?

CE certification stands for ‘European Conformity’ and states that the product complies with the
essential requirements of European health, safety and environmental protection legalisation.
Basically, it means the product can be sold legally and traded freely throughout Europe.

RoHS certification is the ‘Restriction of the Use of Certin Hazardous Substances’ and ensures
that the product contains only the agreed levels of potentially harmful chemicals, such as; lead,
mercury and cadmium.

Finally, TUV certification is verification from respected independent body TUV that states that
the product has undergone third-party quality tests to give you extra peace of mind.

Glossary
BEAM ANGLE
The distance across that a beam of light spreads from a lamp. For example, a 38° beam angle is narrow and is primarily
used for decorative purposes, while a 260° angle is wide-reaching, making it suited to living spaces

CE CERTIFICATION

CE stands for ‘European Conformity’ and states that the product complies with the essential requirements of European
health, safety and environmental protection legalisation. Basically, it means the product can be sold legally and traded
freely throughout Europe.

COLOUR OPTIONS

LED bulbs come in different shades of light. Warm White casts a cosy, subtle glow. Cool White produces a fresher, bluer
light, while Daylight is a happy medium between the two.

CRI

CRI stands for ‘Colour Rendering Index’. Rated on a scale of 0-100, CRI determines how realistically or naturally a light
source highlights an object

FLUORESCENT LAMPS /
TUBES

Fluorescence is the production of light by a substance that has absorbed light or other electromagnetic radiation. While
being more efficient than incandescent lighting, fluorescent lamps are still far behind LEDs.

HEAT SINK

Heat sinks act as thermal management systems within LED lamps. They dissipate heat to keep the lamp at a lower
temperature, which maintains the lamp’s lifespan and light quality.

INCANDESCENT LAMPS

Incandescents produce light through an electric current that heats a wire filament to a high temperature until it glows. This
is why incandescent lamps only use 5% of energy for light, with the rest being lost to heat.

KELVIN

Colour temperature dictates the shade of white an LED bulb emits and is measured in Kelvins. Lower Kelvin values,
typically between 2700 and 3200, produce a warmer white. While higher Kelvin values, between 5500 and 6500, create
cooler, bluer whites.

WATT

Is a unit of power and measures the transfer of electrical energy. Electrical goods with a higher wattage use more energy
and thus cost more money to run.
LED
The most efficient electrical lighting source available. LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) are semiconductor devices that create
light when an electric current is passed through. Unlike traditional lighting alternatives, LEDs use nearly all of their energy
for light, rather than heat.

LUMENS

True brightness is measured in lumens. The higher the lumen value, the brighter the lamp. For example, a 4.5W LED and
a 40W halogen may both produce the same amount of lumens, despite the difference in their energy usage.

PROTECTION RATINGS

Strip lighting, fittings and commercial products are given IP ratings which indicate how much external intrusion a product
can undergo.

The two digits that make up an IP rating represent different things. The first digit is for protection against solids, the
second digit is for protection against liquids. For example:

- IP20 rated products are non-waterproof and are protected from touch
- IP44 rated products will withstand pressure from small screws and low-pressure water jets
- IP66 rated products are protected from high-pressure water jets and total dust intrusion
- IP67 rated products are protected from water immersion up to 1m and total dust intrusion

RELUX

Relux is a software tool for lighting design. LED-Pro account managers are all Relux-trained, so they can offer clients
tailored lighting solutions.

ROHS CERTIFICATION

RoHS is the ‘Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances’ and ensures that the product contains only the
agreed levels of potentially harmful chemicals, such as; lead, mercury and cadmium

TUV CERTIFICATION

TUV is verification from respected independent body TUV that states that the product has undergone third-party quality
tests to give you extra peace of mind.

UL CERTIFICATION

UL Standards function as a benchmark that enables consumers and businesses to feel confident about the products and
services they purchase.

WATTAGE EQUIVALENT

People are used to determining the brightness of a lamp by its wattage, despite lumens being the truer measurement of
brightness. However, all LED-Pro products come with a traditional wattage equivalent to help you switch to LED
