    Summary: The Hot House, by Pete Earley, is an " Pete Earley all but lived in Leavenworth prison

    informative book that shows life inside Americaʼs for two years without any special treatment. Each day,

    oldest and one of the worst maximum-security he was let into the prison without protection or means

    prisons, the Leavenworth prison, or the Hot House. It to defend himself, where he would conduct hundreds

    follows the lives of three guards and six inmates over of interviews with convicts and guards. He talked to

    the time span of two years. These people explain the some of the most dangerous men alive, some who

    written and unwritten rules of the prison, crimes, and were so dangerous, they were kept under a “no

    talking to another human being in over two years.

    Likes/Dislikes: I thought that the book was a great book. It discusses what prison life was like for some of the

    worst criminals in America. It described crimes, in and out of prison, and their punishments. It was interesting

    learning about these peopleʼs lives, what they had done, what their status was in the prison, and what they did

    daily. Some people might not like how much swearing and other gruesome things are in this book. This is actual

    accounts about what happened, and what the convicts and guards actually said. This book is not censored.

    Recommendation" I recommend this book to anyone who likes to learn about the prison system. This book

    would be a great book for that. The whole story revolves around the Hot House. I would recommend this book

    to guys who like learning about the prison systems or crime. This book is not for people who donʼt like violence,

    swearing, or gruesome scenes.
