Students get interactive at showcase

Final year students at Leeds Metropolitan University will present their

innovative work at the Games, Multimedia, Animation and Music End of Year
Show on Wednesday 25 May at the University’s Headingley Campus.

The End of Year Show gives students graduating this summer in Interactive
Media and Music, Sound and Performance degree subjects the chance to
expand their ideas into presentations and products with real commercial value
and to discuss them with industry specialists and potential employers from
across the region.

This year, projects include an interactive video in which the viewer chooses
the outcome of the film through different options that present themselves; a
motion graphics video and branding campaign designed for Cable and
Wireless; and a computer animation short set in the 12 th century.

Salam Strudwick, Interactive Media Subject Group Leader at Leeds

Metropolitan, commented: “The End of Year Show celebrates the
achievement of our students who have worked creatively, exploiting leading
edge technologies to create professional products. We invite you to celebrate
our new graduates’ achievements, and to explore their expertise, skills and
creativity.”

As part of the End of Year Show, QR (Quick Response) code technology will
be available for guests to access student work and information. QR codes
are digital barcodes which provide extra content to users of smart phones.

Daytime viewings will run between 1 and 4pm and evening viewings, including
refreshments, will run between 5 and 7pm. For further information and to
