PHILOSOPHY
So these are the Philosophical bases of k-12 curriculum: CONSTRUCTIONISM,
PROGRESSIVISM, and SOCIAL RECONSTRUCTIONISM
Constructionism, because it uses the spiral progression as the learning progressive, more and
more details are introduced . Constructivism encourage different activities where students can
reflect, understand, and learned. Next is Progressivism, since K-12 curriculum aims to develop
learners who are armed with sufficient competencies which could be achieved by actively
applying and utilizing it in real world, actively testing ideas or concepts learned. Because
learners is a problem solver and thinker who make meaning through his/her individual
experience in the physical and cultural context. And last is Social Reconstructionism, K-12
curriculum allows the student to experience and take social action on real world problems.
3. Curriculum workers involved
CHED has been actively involved as part of the curriculum consultative committee for K to 12.

Refer to the arrangement of the elements if curriculum on how does the curriculum design
appear in k to 12. It has a four elements are the intent, aims, goals and objectives by providing
ang enlighten idea on how to differentiate the two which are micro and macro. Curriculum
design had a good impact to the teachers as well as the students because it can help to our
lesson as well by providing the four elements. K to 12 programs will be perceived with
increased competency and have a better opportunity to improve basic education, focused
students will have time learning the academic areas they ensuring better. Moreover students
will gain more knowledge and experience that will be essential in the future. In addition
curriculum design can motivate to students in term of discipline to learn in an integrated
manners
2. their objectives etc
goals, the program has the following twin – objectives:
a.) To give every student an opportunity to receive quality education based on an enhanced and
decongested curriculum that is internationally recognized and comparable;
b.) To change public perception that high school education is just a preparation for college;
rather than, it should allow one to take advantage of opportunities for gainful career or
employment and/or self - employment in a rapidly changing and increasingly globalized
environment.
3. comments on the model used
The model used is very effective in different ways because we believe that subject- centered
model design it focuses on the content of the curriculum which corresponds to the textbook
written for the specific subject and it focuses also to the traditional areas in the traditional
disciplines, interdisciplinary topics that touch on the wide variety of fields, on process such as
problem solving and the goal of teaching students to be critical consumers of information.
4. inspired by what curriculum model, in what way and why
Subject- centered design, because this model focuses on the content of the curriculum which
corresponds to the textbook written for the specific subject and it focuses also to the traditional
areas in the traditional disciplines, interdisciplinary topics that touch on the wide variety of
fields, on process such as problem solving and the goal of teaching students to be critical
consumers of information. And also this design is the most popular among the four types of
curriculum design. Also, this curriculum model gives various useful and affective elements in
higher education teaching and learning. Through giving consideration on the essential
characteristics of the subject matter, it aids higher education lecturers in determining the
easiest and the most appropriate and workable ways to deliver the subject matter. By focusing
on the subject , both lecturers and students can easily stay on the same page of grip of learning
the content.
C. CURRICULUM IMPLEMENTATION
1. observation on K12 implementation in any aspect (things to consider page 73)
In implementing K12 curriculum there are things that need to consider as what I've observed.
First is the learning environment includes laboratory, conducive classroom, library, instructional
technology and other facilities. Next is Needs of the students the teacher ask the interest of
every students so that he/she will be able to know the background of each students. The vision,
mission and core value of the school it is important to implement this thing because students
will know what is the thing that he/she must apply in school. And last the Government
requirements it also important because it includes policies, memoranda and guidelines of the
students from the DepEd.
2.. teachers expertise?
Yes, because teacher is the most important assets of each school, colleges, or University , that
they also play an important role in the implementation of curriculum. They are the experts in
teaching and discipline of every students to facilitate their responsibility of being a teacher's
expertise, that's why teachers are the expertise.
3. teachers expertise?
Yes , aside of being expertise for teaching they are also always ready, because teachers are
always ready . Ready for teaching , ready for the responsibilities that needs to achieve their
students. There's no teacher that is not ready but maybe they are just nervous.
4. are set goals realized?
Yes set goals are realized because goals of K12 is a very big help to the students in achieving
their needs and helps to widen their prior understanding of every lesson that implemented.
5. levels of curriculum implementation
There are 5 levels of curriculum implementation namely; National Level, Regional Level,
Division Level, District Level and School Level. National Level they are the one who formulate
education policies, plan, standard and learning outcomes. For Regional level they consistent
with the national education policies, plan and etc. Division level consist of province or a city.
While school district level through the leadership of the district supervisor. And the school level
they are the one who setting mission, vision, goal, and objectives of the school
goals, the program has the following twin – objectives:
a.) To give every student an opportunity to receive quality education based on an enhanced and
decongested curriculum that is internationally recognized and comparable;
b.) To change public perception that high school education is just a preparation for college;
rather than, it should allow one to take advantage of opportunities for gainful career or
employment and/or self - employment in a rapidly changing and increasingly globalized
environment.
D. CURRICULUM EVALUATION
1. curriculum evaluation used in the classroom/school etc
Curriculum evaluation proposes innovation. It provides necessary information for its
progression, such as, students' profile and their background information which includes their
preferred learning styles and classroom arrangement to be set by the teacher. They are being
given an ample amount of time to master the specific content and sources needed to inquire if
the desired outcomes and standards were met. Along its way of evaluating, at the same time, it
improvises the previous state of the curriculum itself. The institution, together with the
curriculum workers, are therefore able to determine the quality of education that will be soon
implemented for the learners of an institution. In accordance to the consideration of the
subject matter, learner, and society, with the school philosophies, mission and vision, and core
values, there is an assurance that a continuous improvement and success that shall follow.
2. models of curriculum evaluation used
This is done with so many series, changes, modifications and improvement in every possible
edge in the educational setting. The process of modifying the educational system here in the
Philippines have been constantly implemented by the Department of Education for both
primary and secondary level and Commission on Higher Education for the tertiary level. There is
adaption to be adopted in line with the needs and demands of globalization. Some of these
adaptions were manifested in curriculum programs and activities, which include the use of
different approaches and teaching strategies.
3. students recommendations
The learners can learn best if the learning strategy and the educational standards they have
inside the classroom fit their level of intellect. With the use of assessment given by the
classroom manager, it enables to utilize the students' feedback. The collaboration and
coordination between the teacher and the learners must also be present. These assessment
intended for the students refer to processes in which evidence of learning is collected in a
planned. However, there might be assessments that don't match the curriculum standard in
which might create a colossal misalignment of the teaching and learning of the teacher and
student. In brief, we have to consider several factors before implementing certain school
standards and policy.
2. Students suggestions
When we talk students suggestions, what does every single student need-absolutely
positively and have to have to succeed inside and outside of the classroom. So here's the
students suggestions. Every student deserves as many chances as it takes, chance to practice,
feedback and not judgment, learning materials, equality, and teacher who is very kind,
understanding and have patient towards his/her student.
3. assess if K12 is okay, what areas to be maintained if not what are the needed modifications,
improvements?
K-12 is not only okay but also it has big impact in every people who lack of education. Because K
to 12 is an education system under the Department of Education that aims to enhance
learner's basic skills, produce more competent citizens and prepare graduates for lifelong
learning and employment. And to be maintained K-12 help to develop the ability and capacity
in each student, the learning strategy is always there, the learning environment is well
maintained , the facilities are in condition. And they develop and evaluate curriculum materials
that are appropriate for the students and they ensure effective implementation of curriculum
standards and competencies.
