people. And you’re doing all the
work. So, within reason, you can
do just about whatever the heck
you would like with this book. It’s
fun you’ll let the hours fly by like a
deranged lunatic, markers all over
the place, your mind doing
backflips. Color responsibly.

About the Author

Kindle Grace Lightfoot

Born in Oklahoma, with fierce
Comanche blood in her veins,
Kindle Grace Lightfoot spent hours
and hours as a young girl riding
horses and drawing. She found
herself guiding towards arts
programs and psychology in
college, attending Northwestern
University, where she graduated
with honors.
She began a career that started
in counseling for children that were
having learning issues in school.
She eventually began working with
adults who were suffering attention
deficit issues and began thinking of
ways to inspire people through
artwork.
This Adult Coloring Book is the
culmination of years of research,
and time with both children and
adults investigating the mysteries of
the mind and unlocking our full
potential through the use of art and
coloring.
How to use the Adult
Coloring Book…
KINDLE USERS: Use tracing
paper on top of your reading
devices and use pencil to outline
the designs. You could also place
your kindle directly on a photo
copier and give that a shot! Have
some fun!!
This book is a collaboration
between artists, designers, and
psychologists. This book not only
soothes you, but also increases
mental stimulation. The pictures
and designs may seem random at
first glance, but they’re anything
but.
Our idea with this project was to
both inspire you, and increase
neuronal activity and stimulation in
a way that activates very unique
parts of your mind. There are fields
of research suggesting that both
children and adults who work with
coloring books and designs can
effectively raise their IQ.
So have fun, relax, let the
markers and pens do what they
will, and hang on for an incredible,
mind altering ride!
Every few designs will have
some advice for you in what color
schemes to complete the artwork.
You can follow this advice or just
go about it with whatever colors
your mind desires. We added the
coloring advice in order to give the
designer (you) a very introspective
and mind expanding experience.
To help you bring your full art
and color to life, we’ve left the
outlines slightly gray instead of
harsh black. Your ideas and the
beauty you create are more
important than the original designs.
This is for you!
MARKER NOTE:
If you feel like using markers, we
suggest Staedtler Triplus
Fineliner marker pens. They’re
easy to use and are very good when
it comes to bleeding issues. We’ve
chosen a paper that we feel offers
the best compromise between
durability and brightness so that
your ideas come to life without
being encumbered by the paper.
Coloring Advice:
In the following designs we would like
you to try your hand with bright colors.
Try radiant reds, glowing greens, bold
blues, and voracious violets and purples.
Try starting in the center of each design
and coloring your way outward. These
first designs are all about finding your
comfort zone with the color. You’ll
naturally find colors you like to use more
due to your own personal preferences.
Well, this is our chance to engage the
brightest and most outrageous of those!
Let's see what kind of true magic we can
create with bright, exciting colors.
Color Advice:
Let’s limit our color choices this time to
earth tones:
Brown, yellow, orange, and those colors
in between. These designs are more
uniform, more symmetrical and you are
looking for balance.
Before you begin coloring, take a good
look at the design and then close the book
for a few minutes. Then come back to the
design after your mind has had some time
to process in your imagination is
preparing to engage.
Let's see what we can create!
Color advice:
In the following designs we are going to
restrict ourselves to pencil only. If you
have colored pencils, try restricting your
choices to black, white, or any of the gray
tones in between. If you have a simple
pencil, that will do just fine, as you are
going to focus on different shades of
pencil gray.
Try to create designs that have debt and
character without being overwhelmed by
the color!
Color advice:
in the next designs you can use any two
colors as a pair, but you must restrict
yourself to only two colors per design.
Try:
Red + purple
Yellow + brown
Purple + yellow
Etc.
Color advice:
It’s time to get freaky, and pulled out all
the stops.
Every color you have it your disposal you
must use. If that means you have a marker
set with 48 different colors, you have to
find a way to use all 48 colors!
This is your chance to completely explore
the range of your imagination. Try not to
let the same color touch any adjacent
design spaces. Essentially, we want you
to use every color you have available to
you while spreading them out as evenly as
possible so that no two pieces with the
same color make contact with one
another.
Color advice
It’s time to flow again! But this time . . .
in THREE’s.
In this set of designs you are going to
focus on using as much color as possible.
In the following designs we want you to
narrow your focus again, concentrating on
groups of just three colors. Pick THREE
colors you wish to use on each design and
stick to them. Focus on balance and
symmetry, while paying attention to the
subject matter as well. Is your garden
filled with rich colors, or shades of green
and yellow and blue?
Are your emotions helping you decide
which direction to go in? Are your
gardens dark and foreboding or bright and
prosperous?
It's up to you, but you should try
restricting yourself to only THREE
colors.
Celebrate Your Work!
We don't just want you to finish the
coloring book and stop. No! There is
more to be done.
Thinking inside the lines is conventional
and safe. But life is not about convention
is about taking chances and experiencing
personal satisfaction that comes from the
opportunities that those chances create!
So we want you to go backwards, from
this last stars and stripes design and color
the outside of each design all the way to
the borders of each page. We recommend
that you begin with a fine black pen, or
even a pencil if you choose, to create
your versions of symmetry and art
surrounding the designs that you have
colored.
These are no longer our designs, they
have become yours, as personal as your
fingerprints! We want you to draw and
color outside the designs so that the entire
page is a beautiful canvas which exudes
your inner beauty and deepest thoughts.
You are far from finished, now the real
inspiration begins. How will you continue
the beauty of your pieces?
When you get back to the beginning of the
book after having finished all the designs,
coloring the entire pages, please select
your five best works and post them with a
review on Amazon so that all can share in
the beauty of created.
Now get to work!
