AUTHOR’S LOGIC: The author is conveying the message/idea of:

Example: “Green” branding of businesses has gone too far and no longer carries the same sort of impact it once did.
Today, so many people are concerned with the environment that many businesses try to represent themselves as being
“green.” They want to have a reputation for being environmentally conscious.
Strategic management – it is the dynamic process that is full of commitment to decision and actions to deliver
strategic competencies to achieve the desired results in terms of corporate profitability and growth.
STUDENT’S LOGIC: Provides learners with an opportunity to reflect and think about how they actually solve problems and
how a particular set of problem solving strategies is appropriate for achieving their goal. What is to be accomplished/learned?
Example: In support of the Supermarket “Green” initiatives, I bring my own shopping bags for grocery shopping and
say no to plastic bags.
As a student, we need to know and create new knowledge because as we live each day, knowledge must be
gained. And in support of creating new learnings, I will study each and every topic that has been assigned.
And also, commitment to the decision made is necessary for us to become more effective.

Example: Being more aware about eco-friendly practices you can adopt at home so that we can make a positive difference as
socially responsible graduates.
Being more knowledgeable about certain facts and more disciplined about it on applying it in my daily life
as a student of Colegio de San Gabriel Arcangel.

I learned in our prayer that We should thank God for allowing us to experience great things, to thank
Him for giving us everything we needed. And to ask Him for guidance in everything we will do, as
always.
My action today is to Listen carefully to what our professor and classmates is discussing and to apply it
in my daily life.
In our lessons for today, I have learned about:
1. The prevailing business landscape provides the context of opportunities and threats within, which corporate
organizations must strive to meet the global challenge of competitiveness.
2. Industry based model – it refers to analyses of the prevailing industry where the firm has its competitive
advantages over other firms in the environment.
3. Resource-Based model – it refers to the analyses of the prevailing resources available to the firm that are
present in the internal environment which could then be utilized in the development competitive advantage.
4. Strategic vision – it is the advantage of the firm’s resources and core competencies to accomplish its goals in
the competitive environment. Strategic vision and intent exist when all employees and its executives are
committed to the pursuit of a specific criterion. Cyclical – research starts with a problem and ends with a
problem.
5. Strategic mission – flows from strategic vision and intent. It is the statement of the firm’s direction in the
pursuit of its operation in the production and marketing of its products and services.Critical – research
exhibits careful and precise judgment.
6. The competitiveness of the world’s market is in the continuous process of change whose pace is relentless
and increasing over time. The industrial boundaries have become challenges as corporate directions change.
New opportunities are taken over by big companies as they spread their resources into new ventures that
would generate greater return on investments.

7. Effective leadership strategies emanate from the foundation of corporate managers in handling the affairs of
the business enterprise towards the attainment of its corporate goals and objectives through the practices of
strategic management process.
8. Strategic leadership and management are important dimensions that develop managerial competencies in
anticipating future events in the business environment. It reflects the ability of the corporate leaders to plan,
organize, direct and control the resources of the organization as he exercises flexibility and empowers others
in the structure to create strategies to achieve the design goals.
9. The success of the firm’s operation rested with the ability of the leaders to apply leadership strategies in
managing the human capital. It includes the ability to manage knowledge and skills, create and commercialize
innovations for competitive advantage.
10. Failure of the leader to initiate strategic leadership develops ripple affects that will be felt in and outside the
organization. The firm will likely suffer a crisis of morale, confidence and productivity among employees that
will put the firm in bad light among its stockholders who would worry about their investments.
I will memorize the above learning points, explain them in my own words, and apply them in our activities.
