REGION XII
(LIMITED FACE-TO-FACE COMPETITION)
1. In reference to DepEd Memorandum 045, s.2021, titled Participation of the

Department of Education in the Quincentennial Commemoration in the
Philippines (QCP), the Schools Division of South Cotabato, Curriculum
Implementation Division (CID) shall conduct Division Quincentennial
Celebrations (Limited Face-to-Face Competition) on March 31, 2022 at Tupi
Central Elementary School for elementary and Tupi National High School for
Secondary.
2. The contest will focus on the following:

2. Essay Writing (Elementary & Secondary)
3. Creative Painting (Elementary & Secondary)
4. Oratorical Speech (Secondary)
5. Story Telling (Elementary & Secondary)
3. Mechanics of the different contests and working committees are attached as

Enclosures No. 1 and 2 respectively to this memorandum.
4. Food, travel, and other incidental expenses shall be chargeable

against School MOOE and other local funds subject to the usual accounting
and auditing rules and regulations.

Mechanics

REGION XII
Quiz Bee
1. The quiz shall be conducted simultaneously on March 31, 2022 at 8:00 in

the morning.
2. The quiz will cover the quincentennial celebrations of the introduction of

Christianity in the Philippines, the anniversary of the Philippine part in the first
circumnavigation of the world, and the anniversary of the victory of Mactan.
3. The contest is open to elementary (Grades 5 or 6), and secondary (Grades 7-

12) learners who are currently enrolled in the respective schools they represent.
Only one (1) participant is allowed per municipality.

4. Each participant shall provide their own answer sheet pad (1/2 lengthwise
long bond paper) and marker.
5. Questions shall be in 3 rounds. Easy (8 questions), average (8 questions),

and difficult (8 questions). A clincher round will be conducted should there be a tie.
The easy round will be given 1 point, the average round will have 3 points, difficult
and clincher will both have 5 points. Questions shall be in Filipino.
6. A contestant with a higher number of points will be declared the winner.

PAGSULAT NG SANAYSAY (ESSAY WRITING)
1. Ang kompetisyon sa Pagsulat ng Sanaysay ay bukas sa lahat ng munisipyo

ng SDO Cotabato. Ang bawat munisipyo ay magkakaroon ng isang kalahok sa
Elementarya, at isa para sa Sekondarya.
2. Ang sanaysay ay dapat umikot sa tema na: “Tagumpay at Sangkatauhan”.
3. Ang bilang ng mga salita ay hindi dapat bababa sa tatlong daan (300) at
hindi lalagpas sa anim na daan (600).
4. Ang lahat ng sanaysay ay dapat orihinal at hindi pa nailathala.

5. Isang oras ang ibibigay upang isulat ang sanaysay.
6. Anumang sanaysay na ipinasa na ay hindi maaaring bawiin upang palitan o

baguhin. Ang copyright ay nananatili pa rin sa orihinal na manunulat.
7. Tatlong sanaysay ang magwawagi sa patimpalak na ito. Ang mga basehan sa

kanilang pagkapanalo ay ang sumusunod na pamantayan:

CREATIVE PAINTING
1. The contest is open to all municipal winners for S.Y. 2021-2022.

2. Only one (1) participant is allowed per municipality.
3. The painting must illustrate, interpret, emphasize, and expound the
scope of the Philippine Quincentennial Celebration. Freedom of
expression is granted as long as it is not offensive, obscene, and with
political elements.
4. The painting must be placed in a 15”x20” canvass.

5. Participants may use any medium of his/her choice.
6. The artwork should be the original artistic creation of the participant.
7. Participants will be given 4 hours to complete the output.

ORATORICAL SPEECH
1. The oratorical speech showcase is open to Junior High School learners enrolled
during 2021-2022.
2. The oratorical speech must be an original composition written and delivered in
Filipino.
3. The piece composition must be based on the theme “Victory and Humanity” and
must integrate positive Filipino values and be anchored on the Quincentennial
Celebration.
4. Each participant wearing simple Filipino attire shall be delivered his/her speech
in 2-3 minutes.

STORYTELLING
1. The contest is open for both elementary and Junior High Schools.
2. Each municipality may be represented by one contestant per category.
3. The contest is composed of 2 categories: Elementary School Category and
Junior High School Category.
4. The contest is freestyle - Each municipality will determine what story to tell
in connection to the celebration of the 2021 Quincentennial Commemoration in
the Philippines with the theme, “Victory and Humanity”.
5. Attire: Any attire is allowed as long as the stated rules below are observed.

 Costumes that limit the contestant's movement (e.g. tall and heavy
headdresses, large and bulky accessories, floor-length skirts, etc.) are highly
discouraged.
 Use of make-up or face painting is allowed but must be kept to a minimum.
Props: Allowed but limited to one hand-held object only.
6. Performance: The following rules must be observed.
 No extra mechanical or electronically produced sound effects are allowed.
 The story must be delivered from memory and any movement is confined to
the performance area.
 Duration of storytelling: 3-5 minutes for Elementary and 5-8 minutes for
JHS including intro and extro.
 Medium of delivery: FILIPINO
