Roles & Responsibilities of SPOC – Single Point of Contact
College SPOCs:
1. Register on SIH 2022 Portal as a SPOC on https://www.sih.gov.in/collegeRegistration.
2. Only senior Faculty/Registrar/Dean/HoD/Director etc. can be registered as a SPOC. The SPOC needs to get an authorization consent letter from his Institute (either from Director, VC,
Principal, or the like). The authorization letter format can be accessed from the website under the registration page. It is mandatory for a SPOC to upload a letter on his institute
letterhead from a Director/Principal/Vice-Chancellor/Registrar or the like. The college seal on the letterhead is also mandatory.
3. Students cannot register as SPOC or submit their teams on our portal. The team(s) nomination will be done by an authorized SPOC of the institute only.
4. Once you are registered, the SIH team will review the SPOC authorization Letter and approve/disapprove (you will receive notification via email at your registered email ID)
5. Once approved, the College SPOC needs to provide the internal hackathon details and submit a PDF report with details related to how many teams participated, students, male,
female, mode of the hackathon, challenges/PS’s worked, images, and repository link (if any).
6. Once you complete this, you will be directed to fill (nominate) the top 15 teams (10 Shortlists and 5 waitlists).
7. The SPOC can nominate the teams in any of the categories i.e. Hardware and Software and select at least 5 teams in Student Innovation and 10 against the Problem Statements. The
College SPOC can nominate at max 15 teams (HW+SW both) having at least one mandatory female Member in each Team.
8. On 10th March 2022, the Idea Submission for the nominated teams will go live and these nominated teams will be able to log in and select their choice of PS and submit the ideas
against them. Login Credentials for the nominated Team leader will be sent by 9th March 2022.
9. Please note that each PS will have a maximum count of ideas to 125 only. It will be a first come first serve basis system to select the PS of their choice. Hence, it is recommended for
the institutes to organize the internal hackathon as soon as possible so that the nominated teams will get their choice of PS.
10. Once 125 ideas are received at a particular PS (Counter will be seen publicly), that PS will be blocked/freezed and no more ideas will be able to be submitted on that particular PS.
11. Idea PPT format and other details will only be available on the team leader’s login.
Team Formation – 6 Members (including the team leader) and 2 Mentors (optional). Mentors can be Industry experts or Senior Faculty members. It is
