Highlights for the month of April 2022


Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi laid the foundation stones of 850 MW Ratle Hydroelectric Project and 540 MW Kwar
Hydroelectric Projects in UT of Jammu and Kashmir on 24th April 2022. On this occasion, CMD, NHPC interacted with Hon'ble Prime Minister
Shri Narendra Modi and address his queries about time frame for completing the projects.
Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs under the Chairmanship of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has accorded approval to the 540
MW Kwar Hydroelectric Project. The project will be implemented by NHPC’s subsidiary Chenab Valley Power Projects Ltd. (CVPPL).
In a watershed moment for the 2000 MW Subansiri Lower Project, the rotor of the country's largest capacity Hydrogenerator (306 MVA) was
successfully lowered on 14th April 2022. With a diameter of 11.45 m and lifting assembly weight of approximately 674 tonnes, this rotor is the
largest ever lifted device in any Indian hydroelectric project. CMD, NHPC along with Shri R. M. Rajendran, Joint Secretary (Hydro), Ministry of
Power, Govt. witnessed this momentous occasion.
CMD, NHPC met Shri Tapir Gao, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, East Parliamentary Constituency, Arunachal Pradesh and Shri Alo Libang,
Hon'ble Minister, Health and Family Welfare, Social Welfare, Women and Child Development, Social Justice, Empowerment & Tribal Affairs, Govt.
of Arunachal Pradesh at Pasighat (Arunachal Pradesh) during his visit to Subansiri & Dibang projects from 14th to 17th April 2022. The
discussions were focused on development of hydropower in Siang Basin. CMD, NHPC also visited the dam, power house and colony site of 2700
MW Siang Lower Hydroelectric Project, which has been identified by the Ministry of Power, Government of India for allotment to NHPC. During his
visit to 2880 MW Dibang Multipurpose Project, CMD, NHPC had fruitful interactions regarding future planning of project.
CMD, NHPC met Shri Prem Singh Tamang, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Sikkim at Gangtok during his visit to Teesta region (Sikkim) earlier this
month on 2nd April 2022 and requested for his support for NHPC's initiatives in the state. Subsequent to this meeting, Hon'ble Chief Minister met
CMD, NHPC on 08th April 2022 at New Delhi. The progress of works at 500 MW Teesta-VI and issues related to clearance for the 520 MW
Teesta-IV Project was discussed during the meeting. Hon'ble Chief Minister appreciated NHPC's efforts and assured of continued support to
NHPC.
CMD, NHPC alongwith Shri Amit Kansal, Independent Director, NHPC met Hon'ble Minister of Jal Shakti Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on 27th
April 2022 at New Delhi. During the meeting discussions were held with the Hon'ble Minister regarding consultancy services by NHPC for
Renovation and Rehabilitation of old Dams in India.
Keeping in mind that need of new ideas for growth of the organization and challenge to find better solutions for the new age opportunities, a
conclave of Executive Directors of NHPC held from 29th to 30th April 2022.
CMD, NHPC was part of International Conference on 'Hydropower and Dams Development for Water and Energy Security - Under Climate
Change'. During his address CMD, NHPC highlighted the key challenges being facing Hydropower development in the country. The conference
was organized by THDC, CBIP and INCOLD (Indian Committee on Large Dams) at Rishikesh from 7th to 9th April 2022.
The 131st birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was observed across all NHPC locations. A special programme
under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was also organized at NHPC Corporate Office to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar on 18 April
2022 wherein Shri Mukul Kanitkar, National Organizing Secretary, Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
Shri Biswo Nath Poudel Hon'ble Vice Chairman of Nepal Planning Commission visited NHPC Corporate Office on 28th April 2022. During his visit,
fruitful discussions were held regarding NHPCs recent initiatives and for further new business opportunities for NHPC in Nepal.
NHPC was conferred with “PSU developer of the Year" award in Gold Category on 13th April 2022 by EQ International during EQ's PV Invest
Tech India Conference & Awards at New Delhi.
The total revenue collection during the month of April 2022, was Rs. 295.90 crore
The total cumulative generation of all NHPC power stations till the end of April 2022 stood at 2369.4 MUs.

Highlights for the month of March 2022


NHPC paid an interim dividend of Rs. 933.61 crore to Govt. of India for FY 2021-22 on 4th of March 2022. CMD, NHPC presented the dividend
payout bank advice to Shri R.K. Singh, Hon'ble Union Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy on March 10th, 2022 in the presence of
senior officers from Ministry of Power and NHPC.
CMD, NHPC met Shri Alo Libang, Hon'ble Minister Health & Family Welfare, Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Social Justice,
Empowerment & Tribal Affairs, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh on 24.03.2022 at New Delhi and apprised him about the status of NHPC projects in
Arunachal Pradesh. Hon'ble Minister appreciated NHPC's efforts and assured of his full support to NHPC.
NHPC was conferred with ‘Best Implementation of Dam Rehabilitation Project’ award at the Water Digest ‘Water Awards, 2021-2022’ held at New
Delhi on 29th March 2022. The award recognizes the Rehabilitation of Dam and other Components of 280 MW Dhauliganga Power Station
(Uttarkhand) after it was damaged by floods in 2013.
Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma, Hon'ble Chief Minister, Assam visited the 2000 MW Subansiri Lower HE Project on 3rd of March 2022. Hon'ble Chief
Minister took keen interest in the ongoing construction activities of the project.
2nd Sub Committee of Parliamentary Official Language Committee under the Chairpersonship of Prof. Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Hon’ble Member of
Parliament (Lok Sabha), held inspection meeting with NHPC on 4th March 2022 regarding work of Official Language being done in the Corporate
Office. Hon'ble members of the Committee appreciated the efforts of NHPC in implementation of Rajbhasha.
The Lower Bracket Assembly of Unit# 1 of 2000 MW Subansiri Lower H.E. Project, weighing 85T has been successfully placed in generator.
Cut off wall (1st phase) of 500 MW Teesta-VI HE Project was successfully completed on 14th of March 2022.
The activities related to construction of Concrete Face Rock fill Dam (CFRD) of 1000 MW Pakal Dul H.E. Project commenced on 05.03.2022.
International Women’s Day was celebrated across all locations on 08.03.2022. To commemorate the occasion, a two day workshop for NHPC
women employees was also organized from 8th to 9th March 2022.
To welcome the arrival of spring and to showcase the rich and diverse Indian culture, ‘Vasant Utsav 2022’ was organized under Azadi ka Amrit
Mahotsav with great fervour and enthusiasm at NHPC Residential complex, Faridabad on 13th of March 2022.
A two-day All India Official Language Conference was organized by Rajbhasha Division from 22nd to 23rd March 2022 at Faridabad.
NHPC provided 5 nos. patrolling vehicles under CSR&SD policy to Haryana Police, Faridabad on 25th March 2022.
Athletes of NHPC won 18 medals (1 Gold, 7 silver and 10 Bronze medals) in the Inter CPSU Athletic Tournament and NHPC stood second in
overall position.
NHPC’s players also put on a great show in 26th Inter CPSU Badminton Tournament and won many medals.
The total revenue collection during the month of March 2022, was Rs. 418.95 crore and total revenue of Rs. 9330.30 crores has been collected
during FY2021-22.
The total cumulative generation of all NHPC power stations till the end of financial year 2021-22 stood at 24854.6 MUs.

Highlights for the month of February 2022


NHPC's Standalone Profit after Tax has increased by 5% from Rs. 2829 Crore during the nine-months ended 31st December, 2020 to Rs. 2978
crore for nine-months ended 31st December 2021.
On 2nd February 2022, CMD, NHPC met Shri Manoj Sinha, Hon'ble Lt. Governor of J&K and apprised him of the ongoing activities at the Pakal
Dul (1000 MW), Kiru (624 MW), Ratle (850 MW) and Kwar (540 MW) hydroelectric projects in J&K. Hon'ble Lt. Governor was pleased with the
progress and advised to expedite the activities for early start of Sawalkot H.E. project (1856 MW) in J&K.
CMD, NHPC visited Subansiri Lower Project from 5th to 6th February 2022 to assess the progress of the construction activities at the project.
During the visit, Shri Tarin Dakpe, Hon’ble MLA (Raga), the local community leaders and administration discussed implementation of the projects
assigned to NHPC in Arunachal Pradesh. CMD, NHPC also met Shri Pradan Baruah, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Lakhimpur. The Hon'ble MP
commended the progress of the works and assured his support for the project.
Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Shri Chowna Mein alongwith Shri Tage Taki, Hon'ble Minister, Agriculture, Horticulture, AH &
Vety, Dairy Development, Fisheries, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, visited 2000 MW NHPC Subansiri Lower Project on 6th February 2022. Hon'ble
Deputy Chief Minister took keen interest in NHPC's upcoming projects in the state and assured all support not only for completion of Subansiri
Lower but also for early start of the works in these projects.
NHPC signed Letter of Intent for “Development of 10000 MW Renewable Energy Parks/ Projects in Rajasthan with Rajasthan Renewable Energy
Corporation Limited & Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd” on 8th February 2022. The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Ashok Gehlot graced
the occasion.
Shri Gyaneshwar Patil, the Hon'ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) Khandwa Constituency, Madhya Pradesh visited NHPC Corporate Office
on 9th February 2022. The discussion was mainly focused on setting up of Solar and Pumped Storage Projects in Madhya Pradesh.
CMD, NHPC visited Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited on 18th February 2022 and reviewed the progress of works at the 65 MW Kalpi project.
NHPC was awarded ICAI Gold Shield for Excellence in Financial Reporting and SAFA Certificate of Merit for Best Presented Annual Report.
NHPC arranged Rs. 2000 Crore Term Loan at very competitive interest rate of 5.66% p.a. for a tenure of 9 years 8 months.
During the month of February 2022, NHPCs outstanding dues of more than 45 days plus surcharge were at Rs. 945.51 crore which is the all-time
lowest level since commissioning of all the current power stations.
One of NHPC Elite Sports Scholarship recipient, Ms. Reetika has won Bronze Medal in 72 kg weight category at the International Wrestling
tournament held in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria.
To upgrade information and communication infrastructure, an Internet Protocol (IP) Telephone service was launched on 22nd February 2022
across NHPC.
NHPC has signed an agreement with HDFC Bank for securitization of Return on Equity for Chamera-I Power Station, Himachal Pradesh on 24th
February 2022. The monetization deal has fetched present value of Rs. 1016.39 crore against the future cash flow of 10 years for Chamera-I
Power Station.
A ‘Hindi Kavi Sammelan’ under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav was organized at Corporate Office on 24th February, 2022. During the occasion, the
new logo of NHPC Limited was also launched.
NHPC Women Welfare Association distributed Blankets to the needy section of society on 5th February, 2022 near Khori village, Faridabad.
NHPC infused young blood into organization by recruiting 67 executives in various disciplines.
NHDC (a JV Company of NHPC and Govt. of Madhya Pradesh) presented Interim Dividend payment of Rs. 210.50 crore to NHPC on 3rd
February 2022.
The total revenue collection during the month of February 2022, was Rs. 428.82 crore.
The total cumulative generation of all NHPC power stations till the end of February 2022 stood at 23050.2 MUs.

Highlights for the month of January 2022


NHPC signed Promoters’ Agreement with Green Energy Development Corporation of Odisha Ltd. (GEDCOL) on 04.01.2022 for “Development of
500 MW Floating Solar Projects on different water bodies in Odisha”.
On 05.01.2022, CMD, NHPC had the opportunity to apprise Hon'ble Union Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy, Shri R.K. Singh
about the new developments and sought his guidance for NHPC.
CMD, NHPC met the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Jai Ram Thakur on 23.01.2022 at Shimla (HP) and briefed him about the
status of 500 MW Dugar Hydroelectric Project. Hon’ble Chief Minister urged NHPC to explore the possibilities of implementing Pumped Storage
Projects in Himachal Pradesh especially in Ravi River.
During CMD, NHPC’s recent visit to the 2000 MW Subansiri Lower Project from 06.01.2022 to 07.01.2022, Shri Pradan Baruah, Hon’ble Member
of Parliament (Lakhimpur), Assam on 06.01.2022. Hon'ble MP assured his full support to NHPC.
CMD, NHPC inspected various contruction sites during his visit to the 800 MW Parbati-II HEP from 20.01.2022 to 23.01.2022. With less than 1000
m of tunnelling remaining, NHPC is in touching distance of completing this component of the project. CMD, NHPC also visited Seri Nallah
diversion work site, where the responsibility of diverting this Nallah has been entrusted to NHPC by Ministry of Defence (BRO).
Chamera Power Station-I successfully completed the repair of Head Race Tunnel (HRT) and its subsequent filling on 12.01.2022 ahead of
schedule target of 15.01.2022.
Artists from ‘Sanskritik Sangam’, Gorakhpur on 03.01.2022 staged a play ‘Krantiveer Azad’, based on the life of the legendry freedom fighter, at
NHPC Office Complex, Faridabad under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
A MoU was signed on 12.01.2022 between NHPC Limited and NIT Durgapur for availing the services of NIT Durgapur for undertaking R&D
activities in the field of Science, Engineering and Technology.
Consultancy work for bundling and blending of Hydro Power with other RE sources has been assigned to M/s Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC).
Fruitful preliminary deliberations were held with PWC on 19.01.2022 for bundling of Hydro power with RE sources and the roadmap to boost
hydropower development in the country.
NHPC observed 125th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on 24.01.2022.
On 26.01.2022, District Administration Faridabad awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to NHPC for the outstanding work done in the field of
‘Sanitization’.
PIB meeting for 540 MW Kwar HEP was held on 27.01.2022. Final government approval for the project is expected shortly.
EPC tender for Dugar HE Project (500 MW) has been floated on 31.12.2021.
During the month of January 2022, the total revenue collection was Rs. 465.01 crore.
The total cumulative generation of all NHPC power stations till the end of January 2022 stood at 22280.6 MUs.
NHPC embarked on journey for adopting a New age ERP System embedded with in-built intelligent technologies like Artificial Intelligence,
Machine Learning and Advanced Analytics. The Kickoff meeting for implementation of New ERP was held on 12.01.2022.
Connectivity Agreement for energy extraction of 65 MW Kalpi Solar Energy signed with UP Power Transmission Corporation Limited (UPPTCL)
on 29.01.2022 by Budelkhand Saur Urja Limited (BSUL).

Highlights for the month of December 2021


‘NHPC Employees Family Economic Rehabilitation Scheme’ has been introduced to provide monetary benefit and support in the unfortunate case
of permanent total disablement or death of the employee.
To expedite hydropower development in the country and drive up the synergies in development of these projects, Ministry of Power, Government
of India has allotted the region of UT of J&K and UT of Ladakh to NHPC for development of untapped potential.
The Projects in Subansiri Basin viz. 2000 MW Subansiri Upper and 1800 MW Subansiri Middle shall be developed by NHPC on standalone basis
while 10000 MW Upper Siang and 2700 MW Siang Lower in Siang Basin are to be developed on JV mode.
CMD, NHPC met Hon'ble Dy. Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Sh. Chowna Mein on 29.12.2021 at New Delhi and discussed way forward for
expeditious implementation of projects allotted to NHPC in Arunachal Pradesh. Hon'ble Dy. Chief Minister assured of his full support to NHPC.
To follow up the recent visit of CMD, NHPC, a delegation from NHPC held discussions with authorities in Nepal. Techno commercial viability is
being assessed for implementing 480 MW Phukot Karnali and 1902 MW Mugu Karnali hydroelectric projects on JV mode with Vidhyut Utpadan
Company Limited (VUCL), Nepal.
Government of Andhra Pradesh has responded positively to the proposal for developing Pump Storage Projects in the state. The state
government has consented to allot seven Pump Storage projects with installed capacity of 6600 MW. These projects shall be developed through a
JV between NHPC and state government.
In a significant development at the 800 MW Parbati-II H E Project, on 25.12.2021 the Pancha Nallah water was successfully diverted into the
feeder tunnel, further carrying it to Hurla Nallah and finally into the HRT. With the completion of this work, all the three Nallahs i.e. Manihar,
Pancha and Hurla have now been successfully diverted into the HRT.
Shri Pradan Baruah, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Lakhimpur constituency, Assam visited NHPC Corporate Office, Faridabad on
16.12.2021. CMD, NHPC apprised the Hon'ble Member of Parliament about the progress of works at NHPC Subansiri Lower Project and other
activities of NHPC in North East Region, highlighting the prosperity and all-round development that hydropower projects bring to the region.
On 31.12.2021, CMD, NHPC apprised Sh. Vijay Sampla, Hon'ble Chairman, National Commission for Scheduled Castes about NHPC activities.
Hon'ble Chairman appreciated NHPC's role in bringing development to the remote corners of the country and its efforts for an egalitarian society
which empowers the marginalized.
Energy Intelligence, an independent US consulting firm specializing in energy market, published its annual 'Top 100 Green Utilities' list of the
world. NHPC has been featured among the top 25 green utilities.
CMD, NHPC addressed a session on 'Creating a Cyber-secure Eco-system for the Power Sector' during the 22nd World Congress on
'Environment Management and Climate Change-2021' online conference organized by Institute of Directors on 08.12.2021.
'International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2021' was celebrated on 03.12.2021 at Corporate Office, NHPC Limited, Faridabad.
On the occasion of 66th Mahaparinirvan Diwas on 06.12.2021, rich tributes were paid across the NHPC to Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Dr. B.R.
Ambedkar.
NHPC and Indian Society of Engineering Geology (ISEG) jointly organized an international conference, EGCON 2021, on “Recent Advances in
Geotechnics” from 09.12.2021 to 11.12.2021.
A trial for remote operation of Unit#2 of 800 MW Parbati-II H E Project was successfully carried out on 21.12.2021. When fully implemented, this
will facilitate operation of Parbati-II and Parbati-III projects from a single location generating lot of synergies in operation of the two power stations.
NHPC has formally taken over the 1856 MW Sawalkote H E Project from JKSPDC Ltd. An agreement in this regard was signed between NHPC
Ltd. and JKSPDC Ltd. on 11.12.2021 at Jammu.
NHPC conducted State / UT level painting competitions in Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Sikkim, Manipur, Ladakh and Madhya
Pradesh under the National Level Painting Competition 2021 organized by BEE under aegis of Ministry of Power.
NHPC Women's Welfare Association celebrated ‘International Gita Jayanti Mahotsav 2021’.
624 MW Kiru H E Project achieved a major milestone of river diversion on 31.12.2021.
In a major boost to the construction activities at the 2000 MW Subansiri Lower H E Project, Trunnion concreting of spillway bay S2 has been
completed and the bay was handed over to HM contractor for Radial Gate erection.
During the month of December 2021, Rs.1018.31 Crore were collected. The total revenue collection till December 2021 stands at Rs. 7989.92
Crore.
The total cumulative generation of all NHPC power stations till the end of December 2021 stood at 21445.8 MUs.
NHPC welcome all the newly appointed Independent Directors, Dr. Uday Sakharam Nirgudkar, Dr. Amit Kansal, Dr. Rashmi Sharma Rawal and
Shri Jiji Joseph.

Highlights for the month of November 2021


NHPC celebrated its 47th Raising Day on 07th of November 2021. Shri R.K. Singh, Hon'ble Union Minister of Power and New & Renewable
Energy, appreciated the work of team NHPC in nation building and encouraged all of us to set higher targets and goals for the organization.
Hon’ble Union Minister, Power, New and Renewable Energy, Shri R.K. Singh inaugurated the River Diversion works of 1000 MW Pakal Dul HE
Project on 01.11.2021.
The River Diversion of 120 MW Rangit-IV H E Project, being implemented by NHPC’s subsidiary company, Jal Power Corporation Ltd has been
completed on 07.11.2021.
CMD, NHPC along with a team from Business Development Division visited Nepal for exploring business opportunities on 20.11.21 and 21.11.21
respectively. In this connection meetings were held with Hon'ble Prime Minister of Nepal, Shri Sher Bahadur Deuba, Smt. Pampha Bhusal,
Hon'ble Minister, Ministry of Energy, Water Resources & Irrigation, Govt. of Nepal and Shri Biswonath Poudel, Vice-Chairman, National Planning
Commission, Nepal.
With the support of Ministry of Power and Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, the issue of Land compensation for 2880 MW Dibang Project has been
resolved, paving the way for start of construction of this mega project.
The net profit for the 1st half of the current FY stood at Rs. 2217 crore against Rs. 2021 crore for the same period last year, thereby registering a
growth of nearly 10 %.
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Energy under the chairmanship of Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh (alias Shri Lalan Singh), Hon’ble Member
of Parliament visited various construction sites of the visited Subansiri Lower Project on 09.11.2021 and appreciated the progress achieved so far.
CMD, NHPC was a key speaker during the ‘International Virtual Conference on Water Security and Climate Change 2021’ on 16.11.2021. The
conference was organised by Global Counter Terrorism Council in association with Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India.
NHPC, under its CSR-SD program launched two mobile medical vans on 16.11.2021 for providing health services to the local rural residents of
Sujanpur, District Hamirpur and Bilaspur Sadar, District Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh. Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, former Chief Minister of
Himachal Pradesh, launched this noble initiative.
The 690 MW Salal Power Station, on completion of 34 years of commissioning of the power station, organized “Salal Iconic Day” on 20.11.21
under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
NHPC Women’s Carrom team performed commendably at the 24th Inter CPSU carrom tournament held at Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.
A delegation from NIT Durgapur led by Prof. N.K. Roy held discussions with CMD, NHPC for exploring collaboration opportunities between NHPC
and NIT Durgapur.
As a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Campaign, a friendly T-20 cricket match was organized on 20.11.2021 between CS XI and NHPC XI Teams.
NHPC is organizing State Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation in UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh as well as in the states
Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Manipur, under the aegis of BEE, Ministry of Power, Govt. of India. Students of Std. V to X are
eligible to participate in the competition.
Shri Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects) met Shri Brijesh Pandey, Secretary (Power), Govt. of Tripura at Tripura Bhawan, New Delhi on 22.11.2021
and held discussions regarding development of floating solar at Gumti Reservoir, Amarpur, Tripura.
Shri R.K. Singh, Hon'ble Union Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy, Government of India presented a cheque of ₹22.5 Crores to
Uttarakhand Minister of Disaster Management, Shri D.S Rawat in virtual presence of Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Shri Pushkar Dhami for
reconstruction work in 478 schools in 8 districts and 28 health Centres in 5 districts of Uttarakhand. NHPC contributed an amount of Rs 1 crore
towards this noble cause.
Total collection during the month of November 2021 stood at Rs.1022 Crore. The total revenue collection stands at Rs. 6966 crore.
NHPC power stations generated 1218 MUs in the month of November. Total generation till the end of November stands at 20708 MUs.

Highlights for the month of October 2021


Hon’ble Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy, Govt. of India, Shri R. K. Singh visited and reviewed the on-going activities at the
projects being implemented by our subsidiaries Chenab Valley Power Projects Limited (CVPPL) and Ratle Hydroelectric Power Corporation
Limited (RHPCL). Hon’ble Minister also went to the dam of 390 MW Dulhasti Power Station. Shri S. K. G. Rahate, Additional Secretary, MOP and
Shri Rohit Kansal, Principal Secretary (PDD), Govt. of J&K accompanied Hon’ble Minister during the visit.
On 15.10.2021, Hon’ble Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy, Govt. of India, Shri R. K. Singh, despite the inclement temperature
visited Gurez, the Dam site of 330 MW NHPC Kishanganga Power Station and also graced the construction site of 2.4 MW dam toe powerhouse.
Committee on Subordinate Legislation, Lok Sabha under the Chairmanship of Shri Balashowry Vallabbhaneni, Hon’ble Member of Parliament
visited Leh from 02.10.2021 to 06.10.2021 and held interactive sessions with NHPC.
Shri N.K. Premachandran and Shri Suresh Pujari, Hon’ble MPs and Members of Committee on Subordinate Legislation, Lok Sabha visited Nimmo
Bazgo Power Station on 03.10.2021 and witnessed ramp up and ramp down within a period of 90 seconds during their visit.
On 04.10.2021, CMD NHPC met Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Radha Krishna Mathur at Raj Bhawan, Leh and discussed various
business opportunities especially in Hydro and Solar Projects. Possibilities of establishing Hydrogen Plants in the UT were also suggested by
Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor.
On 04.10.2021, CMD NHPC also apprised Shri Ram Madhav, Hon’ble Member Board of Governors, India Foundation & Member, National
Executive, RSS about the critical role of hydropower in our energy system and in overall development of the country..
Shri Alok Kumar, Secretary (Power), Ministry of Power, Govt. of India reviewed the ongoing activities at Pakal Dul (1000 MW), Kiru (624 MW) and
Kwar (540 MW) Hydropower Projects on 06.10.2021 and 07.10.2021.
Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Earth Sciences and Science and Technology, Minister of
State in Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space,
inaugurated Mega Health Care Camps organised by NHPC on 09.10.2021 under its CSR scheme at various remote villages of Doda district, UT
of J & K.
CMD, NHPC met Shri Bhagwanth Khuba, Hon'ble Union Minister of State of Chemicals & Fertilizers and New & Renewable Energy, Govt. of India
at New Delhi on 23.10.21 and discussion were held on taking up new schemes on river Ans (UT of J&K) and Pumped Storage projects in
Karnataka.
CMD , NHPC met Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand on 27.10.2021 at Dehradun and held discussions regarding
way forward for implementation of five hydropower projects, earlier allotted to NHPC for development..
A delegation of local representatives from Dollungmukh, Distt. Kamle, Arunachal Pradesh met CMD, NHPC at Faridabad on 08.10.2021. The
delegation further visited various NHPC power stations located in UTs of J&K and Ladakh. They had first-hand experience of overall development
and the direct and indirect benefits brought by NHPC power stations.
NHPC paid a final dividend of Rs. 249.44 Crore to Government of India for the F.Y. 2020-21 on 21.10.2021. The payment intimation advice was
handed to Shri R.K. Singh, Hon'ble Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy at New Delhi on 26.10.2021 in the presence of Shri Alok
Kumar, Secretary (Power), Govt. of India and Shri S.K.G. Rahate, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power, Govt. of India. An interim dividend of
Rs. 890.85 Crore for the F.Y. 2020-21 was earlier paid on 05.03.2021. The total dividend paid for the F.Y. 2020-21 is Rs. 1140.28 Crore.
Three Medical Oxygen Generation Plants set up by NHPC under its CSR&SD scheme were inaugurated on 7th October 2021 at District Civil
Hospital (B K Hospital), Faridabad, Haryana, District Hospital, Siddharthnagar, UP and CHC, Dharchula, Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand with capacities
of 1000 LPM (Litres Per Minute), 570 LPM and 200 LPM respectively. NHPC is also setting three more oxygen generation plants in UT of Ladakh.
Despite challenges, successful day lighting of Feeder Tunnel of Pancha Nala, Parbati-II Project took place on 25.10.2021.
All NHPC locations are observed Vigilance Awareness Week 2021 from 26th of October to 1st of November with the theme ‘Independent India
@75: Self Reliance with Integrity’.
NHPC observed ‘October 2021’ as National Cyber Security Awareness Month under the guidelines of Ministry of Power, Government of India
NHPC hosted the 25th Inter CPSU Bridge tournament at Chandigarh under the aegis of Power Sports Control Board from 21-23 October 2021.
NHPC participated in the Bhakra Dedication Day celebrations on 22.10.2021 at Nangal organised under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav .
Various activities under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav were organised by many NHPC locations in the month.
NHPC lauds the achievement of NHPC Elite Sports Scholarship recipient Ms. Reetika for winning Gold Medal in 72 Kg category in the Haryana
State Wrestling Championship held at Bahadurgarh, Haryana on 23rd and 24th October 2021.
A team of NHPC officers met Hon’ble MP Shri Sanjay Seth and Shri Avinash Kumar, Principal Secretary, Department of Energy, Govt of
Jharkhand at Ranchi on 27.10.2021 and held discussion for taking up floating solar projects at various reservoirs in Jharkhand and other initiatives
for Hydropower development.
During the month of October 2021, the total revenue collection stands at Rs. 1303 crore.
NHPC power stations generated 2051 MUs in the month of October, highest ever for October. The total cumulative generation of all NHPC power
stations till the end of October 2021 stood at 19490 MUs.

Highlights for the month of September 2021


For the first time in the history of NHPC, the electricity generation crossed 10000 MU in a quarter
NHPC has received Rs.4639.00 crore in the first half of this financial year, creating a new record for a half year. NHPC also achieved the highest
ever of daily and monthly collection in September 2021.
Hon'ble Cabinet Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy Sh. R K Singh chaired a Review Meeting of NHPC on 30.09.2021, wherein
besides performance & Project Review, issues related to HR, MoU and future expansion plan of NHPC was reviewed thoroughly. Hon’ble Minister
of State for Power & Heavy Industries Shri Krishna Pal Gurjar and senior officers of Ministry of Power and CEA were also present in the meeting.
45th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of NHPC was conducted through video conferencing on 29.09.2021.
CMD, NHPC met Hon’ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Shri Pema Khandu and Shri Chowna Mein, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of
Arunachal Pradesh at Itanagar on 03.09.2021. During the meeting, discussions were held for expediting implementation of Dibang Multipurpose
Project and a request was also made to allot new projects to NHPC.
CMD, NHPC visited Subansiri Lower Project along with Shri Raghuraj Madhav Rajendran, Joint Secretary (Hydro) and reviewed the progress of
the works.
CMD, NHPC met Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Tamang on 18.09.2021 at Gangtok and apprise him about the status of
NHPC’s projects and pending clearances related to Teesta-IV H E Project.
On 20.09.2021 CMD NHPC apprised Hon'ble Chief Minister of Assam, Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma, about the status of Subansiri Lower H E
Project.
Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Power & Heavy Industries, Shri Krishna Pal Gurjar, visited Salal Power Station on 20.09.2021. Hon'ble Minister
commended NHPC’s role in harnessing the hydro potential of UT of J&K.
CMD, NHPC met Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Hon'ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and Chairperson, Committee on Public Undertakings
at New Delhi on 22.09.2021. During the meeting, discussions were held on upcoming projects in Uttarakhand.
Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment of Lok Sabha chaired by Smt. Rama Devi, Hon'ble Member of
Parliament (Lok Sabha) during their study tour in Srinagar held a meeting with the officials of Ministry of Power, Government of India and NHPC.
Department Related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Industry under the chairmanship of Dr. K. Keshava Rao, Hon’ble Member of
Parliament (Rajya Sabha) visited Srinagar and held discussions with officials of MoP and NHPC.
Committee on Public Undertakings (COPU) under the chairmanship of Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Hon'ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha)
during their study tour examined the subject “Performance under CSR by Power Sector CPSUs” on 30.09.2021 at Guwahati and held discussions
with officials of NHPC and other power PSUs. Hon’ble Committee members appreciated CSR initiatives of NHPC.
CMD NHPC met Hon’ble Cabinet Minister, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting & Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur
at New Delhi on 30.09.2021. During the meeting, discussions were held on development of hydropower in Himachal Pradesh.
Shri Gurjeet Singh Aujla, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Member Standing Committee on Energy visited NHPC office on
30.09.2021. CMD NHPC held detailed discussions with the Hon’ble MP on our business expansion plans, particularly into Renewable Energy.
NHPC’s Rajbhasha journal, ‘Rajbasha Jyoti’ was awarded ‘First Prize’ under ‘Rajbhasha Kirti Puruskar (Griha Patrika)’ in Region ‘A’ by Ministry of
Home Affairs, Govt. of India for the year 2019-20 under ‘Rajbhasha Kirti Puruskar’ scheme. NHPC was also awarded Second Prize for
commendable work in implementation of Rajbhasha under ‘Rajbasha Kirti Puruskar’ scheme. CMD, NHPC received the award on behalf of NHPC
from Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah during Hindi Diwas ceremony organized on 14th September 2021 at New Delhi.
Dr. Rajbir Singh, General Manager (Rajbhasha), NHPC was accorded 'Rajbhasha Gaurav Puraskar' for his article 'Vedon mein Paryavaran
Chetna’.'Rajbhasha Gaurav Puraskar' is the highest award given to writers for outstanding articles. NHPC congratulations to him.
Teesta-V Power Station has been conferred with the prestigious Blue Planet Prize by International Hydropower Association (IHA). It was conferred
to Teesta-V Power Station based on its sustainability assessment undertaken by a team of accredited lead assessors of IHA in 2019 using the
Operation Stage tool of the Hydropower Sustainability Assessment Protocol (HSAP) of IHA.
Indian Society of Engineering Geology (ISEG) is organizing an International Conference in association with NHPC on “Recent Advances in
Geotechnics (EGCON 2021)” from 9-11 December 2021. The website of the conference - www.egcon2021.com was launched by CMD, NHPC.
As part of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav, many programs are being organized across NHPC locations.
Hindi Pakhwada was organised at various locations in NHPC from 1-15 September 2021 and saw healthy participation by our employees.
Vishwakarma puja was organised and celebrated across NHPC on 17.9.2021.
NHPC bagged 1000 MW Capacity Solar Power Project at a Viability Gap Funding (VGF) of Rs. 44.90 Lakh/MW under CPSU Scheme, Phase-II,
Tranche-III in the e-Reverse auction conducted by IREDA on 23.09.2021.
NHPC’s subsidiary LTHPL awarded Lot-II package of construction of balance civil works on 22.09.2021 at contract price of Rs 1251 crore.
The total cumulative generation of all NHPC power stations till the end of September 2021 stood at 17438 MUs.
Mrs Rupa Deb, an experienced and very competent Company Secretary has joined NHPC family on 07.09.2021.
Highlights for the month of August 2021
NHPC’s standalone net profit for the first quarter of the current fiscal stood at Rs 912 Crore against Rs 723 Crore in Q1 of the last fiscal, recording
a growth of 26%.
Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Power and Heavy Industries, Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar visited Subansiri Lower Project and Dibrugarh on 23rd &
24th August 2021 and reviewed the progress of the on-going works. Hon’ble Minister laid the Foundation Stone for the start of Turbine Assembly
of Unit#1. He also visited an Exhibition organized by Farmer-Producers Companies in the field of Piggery, Sericulture and Handloom and
appreciated NHPC’s efforts for Livelihood interventions in the downstream areas of the Project.
The National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI) honoured Shri A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC in recognition of his contribution to Indian Solar
Sector Growth on the occasion of Akshay Urja Diwas on 20.08.2021. Shri Singh has been recognized for his exemplary role in leading NHPC in
the Award, Signing of Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) & Power Sale Agreement (PSA) and subsequent tariff adoption by CERC for 2000 MW
Solar Power Projects awarded by NHPC as an Intermediary Procurer.
All Functional Directors of NHPC’s Board visited Subansiri Lower Project/ Dibrugarh from 6th to 8th August 2021 to review the progress of works
vis-à-vis targeted commissioning of two units by August 2022.
CMD, NHPC met Shri N. Biren Singh, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur and Shri Chowna Mein, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Arunachal
Pradesh at New Delhi on 3rd August 2021.
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Tamang was apprised about the status of NHPC Projects in Sikkim by CMD, NHPC on 12th
August 2021 at New Delhi.
On 12th August 2021, CMD, NHPC also met Shri Bhartruhari Mahtab, Hon'ble MP (Lok Sabha) & Chairman, Standing Committee on Labour at
New Delhi.
The distinguished members of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Energy, chaired by Sh. Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Hon’ble Member of Parliament
(Lok Sabha) visited Jammu and Srinagar from 21st to 26th August 2021. The Committee held a meeting with officials of Ministry of Power and
NHPC on “Performance of Power Plants of Hydro Sector” on 24th August 2021. The committee appreciated performance of NHPC
The Committee on Subordinate Legislation, Rajya Sabha held discussions with NHPC on Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Procedure,
Terms and Conditions for grant of trading licence and other related matters) Regulations, 2020 on 19th August 2021 at Srinagar.
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Labour held a meeting with NHPC on 25th August 2021 at Srinagar regarding the “Deployment of
Contract/Casual/Sanitation workers and implementation of Labour Laws concerning the welfare of such workers in NHPC in the UT of J&K”. The
committee expressed its satisfaction with NHPC policies and systems for treatment of such workers.
Shri A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC apprised Hon’ble Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology, Minister of State
(Independent Charge) Earth Sciences; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh about
the status of NHPC’s various projects on 29.08.2021 at Jammu. On 30.08.2021, Hon’ble Minister held discussions about the progress of works
and various issues of 1856 MW Sawalkot, 540 MW Kwar and 850 MW Ratle H E Projects.
The 75th Independence Day was celebrated across NHPC locations with great enthusiasm.
‘Fit India Freedom Run 2.0’ under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ was organized at NHPC Residential Colony, Faridabad on 15.08.2021 which saw
large participation from NHPC employees and their families.
Chutak Power Station, Minji, Kargil, Ladakh has been certified as ISO 27001:2013 ISMS implemented power station on 03.08.2021
National Handloom Day was observed at Corporate Office on 07.08.2021
NHPC organized ‘Van Mahotsav 2021’ programme in association with Haryana Forest Department, Faridabad near NHPC Chowk, Faridabad on
09.08.2021. Over 700 saplings of various species were planted during the programme.
Sadbhavna Diwas was celebrated across NHPC locations on 19.08.2021 and 20.08.2021.
An MoU was signed between NHPC and NTPC for ‘cooperation in overseas power sector’. The MoU shall facilitate taking up project
development, capacity building, O&M, RMU and other consultancy assignments outside.
An MoU was signed between NHPC Limited and PFC Limited on 24.08.2021. It will facilitate in expanding NHPC’s Energy Portfolio in
Hydroelectric Power Projects development & acquisition of assets through NCLT.
Thousands of NHPC employees, contract workers and their families participated in rendition of National Anthem as a part of an initiative by
Ministry of Culture under Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav Campaign.
During the month of August 2021, the total revenue collection was Rs. 855.95 crore
The total cumulative generation of all NHPC power stations till the end of August 2021 stood at 14452.7 MUs. Although at the end of the first
quarter we were around 860 MUs short compared to the last year, we have made up significant part of the deficit in July and August.
Shri Bharat Joon, one of the Elite Sports Scholar under the NHPC’s Sports Scholarship Scheme, won Gold medal at the SBC Asian Youth &
Junior Boxing Championships in 81kg category of junior boys’ section. NHPC congratulates the young pugilist and hopes he will continue to bring
glory to the Nation.
Shri Navdeep, another Elite Sports Scholar represented the country in Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games in the Javelin Throw F-41 category.

Highlights for the month of July 2021


The second subcommittee of the Parliamentary Committee on Official Language inspected the work of NHPC’s projects at Leh and Srinagar on
13.7.2021 and 14.7.2021 respectively. The subcommittee appreciated the good work being done by NHPC for promotion of Rajbhasha.
NHPC Power Stations generated 121.90 MUs on 25.07.2021, the highest daily generation ever.
During July 2021, NHPC achieved its highest ever monthly generation of 3593 MUs since inception.
During the month of July 2021, the total revenue collection stands at Rs. 675.49 crore
The total cumulative generation of all NHPC power stations till the end of July 2021 stood at 10935.7 MUs.

Highlights for the month of June 2021


Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, NHPC produced sterling results and recorded its highest ever annual profit of Rs. 3233 crore.
MoU with Bihar State Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited was signed on 14.06.2021 for implementation of 130.1 MW Dagmara HE Project in
Supaul district of Bihar. The MoU was inked in the august presence of Shri R.K. Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) Power and
New & Renewable Energy & Hon’ble Minister of State Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India and Shri Bijendra Prasad
Yadav, Hon’ble Energy Minister, Govt. of Bihar. The project is the largest hydropower project in Bihar and shall be implemented by NHPC on
ownership basis.
“Ratle Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited”, a JV between NHPC and Jammu & Kashmir State Power Development Corporation Ltd
(JKSPDC) for implementation of 850 MW Ratle Hydroelectric Project, was incorporated on 01.06.2021.
The monthly HRT excavation at the under construction Parbati-II Project crossed 170m and excavation of more than 500m was achieved in the
last three months.
NHPC celebrated ‘World Environment Day’ with great enthusiasm across its locations. On this occasion large scale plantation drives were taken
up.
NHPC celebrated the 7th International Day of Yoga across all its Power Stations, Projects and Regional Offices on 21.06.2021. Electronic and
digital platforms ensured large scale participation of NHPC employees and their family members during the programs.
Covid vaccination camps have been organised at various NHPC locations and till now 91% of employees have been vaccinated.
During the month of June 2021, the total revenue collection stands at Rs. 389.21 crore
The total cumulative generation of all NHPC power stations till the end of June 2021 stood at 7342.39 MUs.

Highlights for the month of May 2021


The monthly progress at Parbati-II HE Project on the DBM front has exceeded 100 m monthly mark for the last three months and in this period
352 m excavation has been achieved with the DBM.
PPA for procurement of power from our proposed 40 MW Solar PV Project in Ganjam District of Odisha was signed with GRIDCO Limited on
19.05.2021. EPC contract for the project was also awarded on 24.05.2021.
NHPC’s team of young Engineers at Teesta-V Power Station departmentally undertook the rectification of the 420 kv GIS circuit breaker and
successfully completed it.
45 MW Nimoo Bazgo Power Station has been certified under CDM, UNFCCC, becoming the second power station after Chutak Power Station to
be certified under this program.
During the month of May 2021, the total revenue collection stands at Rs. 373.64 crore.
The total cumulative generation of all NHPC power stations till the end of May 2021 stood at 4245 MUs. Generation at our plants have been
adversely affected by less inflow in the rivers.
Three Covid vaccination camps were organised by NHPC from 7th-8th May, 18th-19th May and on 27th May wherein employees and their family
members from MoP/MNRE and various organisations/PSUs under them were vaccinated. A total of 1651 persons were vaccinated in these
camps.

Highlights for the month of April 2021


The NHPC Employees Social Security Schemehas been strengthened wherein in the unfortunate event of permanent disabilities/ death of any of
the employee, the financial assistance ranging from Rs. 30 lakh to Rs. 40 lakh will be provided to the employee/ family of the deceased employee.
Shri Alok Kumar, Secretary (Power) visited NHPC Projects in the Teesta Basin from 1.04.21 to 04.04.2021. He took keen interest in the operation
activities at Teesta-V and TLD-IV Power Station as well as in the construction activities at the Teesta-VI Project. This was the first tour of Shri Alok
Kumar after taking over the charge as Secretary (Power), Government of India.
CMD alongwith Director (Projects) visited Subansiri Lower Project from 22.04.2021 to 24.04.2021 and held discussions with the Project team and
the contractors for expediting the progress of the works. As Subansiri Lower is in everybody’s radar and the progress of the works at the project is
being monitored at the highest levels, every possible effort to adhere to the timelines committed for commissioning the project is being
ensured.More than 160m HRT excavation has been achieved in the current monthat Parbati-II H E Project.
The 130th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was observed across all NHPC locations and rich tributes were
paid to the great soul. At Corporate Office, a special programme to commemorate the birth anniversary was organized on 15.04.2021 wherein
Shri Sunil Shastri, former Minister and Ex-MP (Rajya Sabha) graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
A Contractors meet for upcoming NHPC Projects was organised on 07.04.2021 at Corporate Office through Video Conferencing. Representatives
of many leading organizations involved in hydropower project execution in India & abroad participated in the meet. The discussions were focused
on suggestions for faster implementation of these projects and wider participation in the tendering process by various agencies.
During the month of April 2021, Rs.350.75 crore were received from the beneficiaries.
The total cumulative generation of all NHPC power stations till the end of April 2021 stood at 1644.3MUs.

Highlights for the month of March 2021


CMD, NHPC met Shri Jai Ram Thakur, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh on 23.03.2021 in Shimla. Hon’ble Chief Minister took keen
interest in status and progress of hydropower projects of NHPC in Himachal Pradesh, specially the 800 MW Parbati-II Hydroelectric Project and
for early start of work at the 500 MW Dugar HEP. He also stressed on the need to complete the renovation works of the 180 MW Baira-Siul Power
Station at the earliest
CMD, NHPC called on Shri Anil Kumar Khachi, Chief Secretary, Himachal Pradesh and apprised him about the progress of construction activities
at various Projects of NHPC in Himachal Pradesh.
CMD, NHPC met Shri Prem Singh Tamang, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim on 20.03.2021 and briefed him about the recent development in
various NHPC Projects in the state of Sikkim. During the meeting various issues related to 520 MW Teesta-IV, 120 MW Rangit-IV and 500 MW
Teesta-VI projects were discussed.
CMD, NHPC held discussions with Shri S.C. Gupta, Chief Secretary and Shri G.P. Upadhyay, Addl. Chief Secretary of Sikkim regarding
development of hydro projects in Sikkim on 02.03.2021.
CMD, NHPC met Shri Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, UT of Jammu & Kashmir in New Delhi on 07.03.21. During the meeting,
Hon'ble Lt. Governor was informed about NHPC’s action plan for development of hydropower in Jammu and Kashmir.
In March 2021, NHPC paid an interim dividend of Rs. 890.85 crore to Government of India for the financial year 2020-21 on 05.03.2021.
Govt. of India on 30.03.2021 accorded investment approval for acquisition of M/s Jal Power Corporation Ltd. (JPCL) and construction of balance
works of 120 MW Rangit-IV H E Project by NHPC. The handing over/ taking over process of the Project was carried out on 31.03.2021.
Chutak Power Station on 30.03.2021 became the first power station of NHPC to be certified under Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of
United Nation Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
The Diversion Tunnel of 624 MW Kiru H E Project, under implementation by JV CVPPPL, was day lighted on 01.03.2021.
In Parbati-II H E Project 159 m HRT excavation was done in the month of March, a praiseworthy achievement. The team at Subansiri Lower H E
Project is also performing well and around 45800 cum of concreting was placed in the dam body during the month.
In a first, to demonstrate the technical capabilities of our women employees, an all-women team was deputed to operate 300 MW Chamera-II
Power Station on occasion of International Women's Day on 8th March 2021. The team successfully operated the power station without any glitch.
Power Cup 2021, a T-20 cricket tournament amongst Delhi NCR based organizations under the aegis of Ministry of Power, concluded on
21.03.2021 with Power Grid emerging as the winner. NHPC was the nodal CPSU entrusted with the responsibility of organizing the event.
An agreement has been signed between NHPC and CVPPPL on 19.03.2021 to provide consultancy services to CVPPPL for 930 MW Kirthai- II
HE Project on Chenab River in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir.
NHPC provided a 250 LPH RO Water System to National Association for the Blind (Haryana State Branch), Faridabad under its Corporate Social
Responsibility and was inaugurated by Smt. Sudha Singh, President, NHPC Women's Welfare Association on 11.03.2021 at Faridabad.
During the month of March 2021, Rs. 1754 crore were received from the beneficiaries and total collection from the beneficiaries for the financial
year 2020-21 is Rs. 9625 crore. This is the highest ever annual collection and is testimony to the excellent work being done by Commercial team.
NHPC’s Bridge Team achieved podium position in the Inter CPSU Bridge Tournament organized by SJVN.
Shri Rakesh Kumar, Assistant Programmer (IT&C) gave a commendable performance at the Javelin throw event in the 19th National Para-
Athletics Championships - 2021 held at Bengaluru, Karnataka. Shri Rakesh Kumar was the member of the Delhi team which won the Runner's up
Trophy in the Championship.
Shri Debjit Saha, s/o Shri Himangshu Saha, General Manager (E) won 3 medals which included 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze Medal during the
17th National Para Athletic Championship - 2021 for Cerebral Palsy held at Patna.
NHPC Elite Sports Scholar, Shri Rishi Raj Rathore won Gold Medal in Discuss throw in F37 category during the 19th National Para-Athletics
Championships – 2021. Another of our ‘NHPC Elite Sports Scholar’ Shri Navdeep won Gold Medal in Javelin throw in F41 category during the
same Championship.
The total cumulative generation of all NHPC power stations till the end of financial year 2020-21 stood at 24471 MUs.

Highlights of the month of February 2021


NHPC's standalone net profit for the quarter ended on 31.12.20 increased by 100% to Rs. 808 crore against a net profit of Rs. 404 crore during
the third quarter of last fiscal. Net profit for the 9 months ended 31.12.20 also increased by 8% to Rs 2829 crore compared to the net profit of Rs.
2624 Crore for the period ended on 31.12.19.
CMD, NHPC met Shri Radha Krishna Mathur, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, UT of Ladakh at Ladakh Bhawan, New Delhi on 15.02.21. Shri
Mathur was apprised about the latest development and issues related to NHPC Power Stations at Kargil, Leh and development of hydro and solar
power projects in Ladakh were also discussed.
To promote and support Rajbhasha Hindi, a Kavi Sammelan was organized at NHPC Corporate Office, Faridabad on 24.02.2021. Renowned
poets, including Dr. Kumar Vishwas, enthralled the audience with recitation of some of their most memorable compositions.
Vasant Utsav 2021 was celebrated at NHPC Residential Colony, Faridabad ground on 13.02.21 with enthusiasm and fervor. NHPC Power
Stations and Projects actively participated in the Vasant Utsav. Vasant Utsav 2021 also featured a cultural performance, wherein the famous
Nizami Bandhu group also performed.

During the month of February 2021, Rs 778 crore were received from the beneficiaries and total revenue collection till Feb 2021 is Rs. 7676 crore.
The total collection from the beneficiaries, despite the COVID-19 conditions, has surpassed the collection of Rs. 7172 crore, received for the same
period in last fiscal.
The total cumulative generation of all NHPC power stations till the month of February 2021 stands at 23172 MUs.

Highlights of the month of January 2021


MoUs were signed with JKSPDC on 03.01.2021 for execution of 5 Projects with total installed capacity of 4134 MW. Out of these 5 Projects, 1856
MW Sawalkot, 240 MW Uri-1 (Stage-II) and 258 MW Dulhasti (Stage-II) shall be implemented by NHPC, while 930 MW Kirthai-II is to be
developed by CVPPPL and the 850 MW Ratle Hydroelectric power Project is going to be constructed by a Joint Venture between NHPC and
JKSPDC.
The Union Cabinet on 20.01.2021 accorded investment approval of Rs. 5281.94 crore for implementation of 850 MW Ratle Hydro Electric (HE)
Project.
The Definitive Agreement for implementation of the Approved Resolution Plan for takeover of 120 MW Rangit-IV HE Project of Jalpower
Corporation Limited (JPCL) was signed on 13.01.2021.
CMD met Shri Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Hon’ble Chairperson, Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Member of Parliament (Lok
Sabha) in New Delhi on 02.01.2021.
CMD also met and briefed Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan), Hon’ble Chairperson, Standing Committee on Energy, Member of Parliament (Lok
Sabha) about the latest activities of NHPC. Hon’ble MP appreciated NHPC’s efforts and assured his support to NHPC in its activities.
During the visit to NHPC Projects in Sikkim, CMD met Shri Sonam Lama, Hon’ble Minister of Rural Management & Development, Govt. of Sikkim
on 22.01.2021 and apprised him about various pending issues related to 520 MW Teesta-IV HE Project. Hon’ble Minister was also updated on the
latest status of other NHPC projects in Sikkim including 500 MW Teesta-VI Project.
NHPC has received favourable Order from the Additional Director General (Adjudication), Goods and Service Tax, New Delhi in the case relating
to levy of Service Tax on the amount of Late Payment Charges received by NHPC Limited from its Beneficiaries.
NHPC organized a friendly cricket match between Ministry of Power and Power CPSUs team. Shri R K Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister of State
(I/c), Ministry of Power, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and Minister of State, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship,
Government of India was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
'Remote Sensing and GIS Laboratory' was established by Environment and Diversity Management Division at NHPC Corporate Office on 14th
January 2021.
NHPC was awarded ‘Silver Shield’ at the prestigious ICAI Awards for Excellence in Financial Reporting for 2019-20. NHPC has received this
award under the category of Public Sector Entities for its Annual Report and Financial Statement for year ended 31st March 2020.
An MoU was signed on 08.01.2021 between NHPC Limited and Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) with a view to
increase NHPC’s footprint in renewable in the country.
During the month of January, total revenue collection from the beneficiaries was Rs. 469 crore.
The cumulative generation of all NHPC power stations till the month of January, 2021 stands at 22386 MUs.

Highlights of December 2020


Secretary (Power), Government of India, Shri Sanjiv Nandan Sahai visited Subansiri Lower HE Project on 04.12.2020 and reviewed the progress
of ongoing construction activities. Secretary (Power) was accompanied by Shri Naresh Kumar, Chief Secretary, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh, Shri
Tanmay Kumar, Joint Secretary (Hydro) and other senior officers. Secretary (Power) took keen interest in the ongoing construction activities and
lauded the progress made and urged to commission the project by March 2022.
Ministry of Power on 28.12.2020 green signaled the proposal for execution of 930 MW Kirtahai- II, 240 MW Uri-I (stage-II), 258 MW Dulhasti
stage-II and 1856 MW Sawalkote H E Projects in UT of Jammu & Kashmir .MoU in this regard has been signed on 03.01.2021.
CMD, NHPC met Hon'ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Shri Pema Khandu on 04.12.20 and apprised him about NHPC's activities in
development of hydropower in the state. Hon’ble Chief Minister was informed about the status of 2000 MW Subansiri Lower Project and the
various issues related to implementation of 2880 MW Dibang Multipurpose Project. Hon’ble Chief Minister appreciated NHPC’s efforts towards
tapping the hydropower potential of Arunachal Pradesh and assured full support of the Government.
CMD,NHPC met Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India on 20th December 2020 at New
Delhi. Hon’ble Minister was briefed about issues related to Kotli Bhel, Bursar, Garwa Tawa and Dagmara Hydroelectric Projects. Hon’ble Minister
appreciated NHPC’s efforts.
CMD,NHPC alongwith Director (Technical) met Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur on 24th December, 2020 at Imphal. Hon’ble CM was briefed
about the status of upcoming 66 MW Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Project. Hon’ble Chief Minister assured for expediting land acquisition
process of the project at the earliest and asked NHPC to be part of drive to make Manipur self-reliant in Power production.
Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Minister of State,
Prime Minister`s Office, Minister of State, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Minister of State, Department of Atomic Energy;
and Minister of State, Department of Space on 21st December 2020 held a meeting to discuss NHPC’s plans for hydropower development in
Jammu and Kashmir. Hon’ble Minister was apprised about the status of CCEA clearance of Ratle and other projects being taken up by NHPC in
UT of J&K.
A two-day Akhil Bhartiya Rajbasha Sammelan was organized from 22nd to 23rd December, 2020 through video conferencing. Dr. Sumeet Jerath,
Secretary (Official Language), Government of India was the Chief Guest at the inauguration of the Sammelan. On this occasion a booklet ‘NHPC-
Harit Prayason se Satat Jalvidyut Vikas' was also released.
NHPC officials met Shri Vijendra Prasad Yadav, Hon’ble Minister of Energy, Govt. of Bihar. The team also inspected the site at Supaul, Bihar for
taking up the execution of 126 MW Dagmara Project.
NHPC was conferred ‘Best Performing PSE’ award for Excellence in Hydro Power and Renewable Sector under PRAKASHmay 13th ENERTIA
Awards 2020 instituted by REPA (Renewable Energy Promotion Association) and ENERTIA foundation on 23rd December 2020.
The total revenue collection from the beneficiaries during the month of December stood at Rs. 1235 crore.

Highlights of November 2020


The 46th Raising Day of NHPC was celebrated across all locations. Shri R.K. Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister of State (I/c), Ministry of Power,
Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and Minister of State, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India graced
the occasion as Chief Guest at the Raising Day program in Corporate Office.
On the occasion of Raising Day, NHPC family came together to donate 800 units of blood by organizing blood donation camps across NHPC
locations.
Unit-II of Chamera-II Power Station has been restored and successfully synchronized with the grid. Unit-I was restored in October. Both the units
of the Power Station were under outage due to last year’s fire incident. NHPC through its in-house competencies accomplished the task despite
multiple challenges posed by the COVID-19 outbreak.
NHPC earned a net profit of Rs. 1298.50 crore for the quarter ended 30.09.2020.
Vigilance Awareness Week was celebrated across all the locations of the organization from 27.10.2020 to 02.11.2020.
During the month of November, total revenue collection from the beneficiaries was Rs 563.48 crore.
The total cumulative generation of all NHPC power stations for the month of November 2020 stands at 20540.9 MUs.
Samvidhan Divas (Constitution Day) was celebrated on 26th November 2020 at all NHPC locations.

Highlights of October 2020


A meeting was convened by Hon’ble Lt. Governor, UT of Jammu & Kashmir on 11.10.2020 at Raj Bhawan, Srinagar wherein status of on going
construction projects as well as new business for NHPC was discussed. Agreement to process allotment of Dulhasti stage-II(258 MW), Uri-I
stage-II (240 MW) and 1856 MW Sawalkot H E Project to NHPC.

It was decided that the formation of Joint Venture between NHPC and JKSPDC, Govt. of J&K for execution of RatleH E Project (850 MW) shall be
fast tracked and Kirthai-II H E Project (930 MW) shall also be implemented by a Joint Venture between NHPC and JKSPDC.

Hon’ble Secretary (Power),Shri Sanjeev NandanSahai and Shri Tanmay Kumar, Joint Secretary (Hydro) visited Salal PS, Dulhasti PS, PakalDul,
Kiru and Kwar H E Projects from 28.10.2020 to 30.10.2020.

CMD along with senior officers of Subansiri Lower Project met Hon’ble Chief Minister, Assam at Guwahati on 21.10.2020. During the meeting,
Hon’ble Chief Minister was briefed about the ongoing construction activities at Subansiri Lower Project, river bank protection measures and
livelihood intervention activities in downstream areas of the project being undertaken by the Project.
Unit-1 of Chamera-II Power Station was successfully synchronized with Grid on 19.10.2020.

The first tranche of the balance outstanding dues has been received from J&K. For the first time in NHPC’s history, realization from the
beneficiaries have crossed Rs. 1000 crore for two consecutive months (September and October).
Second unit of Baira Siul Power Station after its renovation was successfully test synchronized on 27.10.2020.
Successful conduct the e-RA for 50 MW floating Solar Power Project in Kerala on 19th and 20th of October 2020.
During the month of October, total revenue collection from the beneficiaries wasRs. 1411 crore (excluding deviation) and Rs.1436.80 crore
(including deviation).
The total cumulative generation of all NHPC power stations till the month of October 2020 stands at 19500 MUs.

Highlights of September 2020


Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ministry of Power, Government of India for the year 2020-21 was signed by NHPC on 29.09.2020.
The 44th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of NHPC was conducted on 29.09.2020 through video conferencing.
Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) on 17.09.2020 conveyed “In principle approval” for development of 1200 MW Solar Power Park
by Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited under Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Parks (UMREPP) mode of the Solar Park Scheme in Jalaun
District of Uttar Pradesh.
Public Investment Board on 30.09.2020 has recommended 850 MW Ratle HE Project for implementation. The Project shall be implemented by
the Joint Venture of NHPC and Jammu & Kashmir State Power Development Corporation Limited (JKSPDC).
Concreting works at the Power House of Subansiri Lower Project, which was under abeyance since December 2011 has resumed on 23.09.2020.
Shri R.K. Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) (Power and New & Renewable Energy) & Minister of State (Skill
Development and Entrepreneurship) dedicated various projects implemented under CSR activities of NHPC and PFC in Shahpur and Bihiya
blocks of Bhojpur district on 16.09.2020.
NHPC signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with CSIR-CSIO Chandigarh on 10.09.2020 through Video-conference for R&D collaboration.
NHPC has been successful in achieving three awards in various categories under the “Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar” declared by Ministry of Home
Affairs for outstanding work in implementation of official language for the year 2019-20.
During the month of September, total revenue collection from the beneficiaries was Rs 1006 crore (excluding deviation).
The total cumulative generation of all NHPC power stations till the month of September 2020 stands at 17722 MUs.
Continuous efforts by Commercial Department has resulted in approval by UT of J&K for releasing outstanding payment of Rs. 533 crores.
Shri R P Goyal has taken over the charge of Director (Finance) of NHPC.

Highlights of August 2020


The Financial Results for the Quarter ended 30th June, 2020 have been approved by the Board of Directors on 31st August, 2020. Revenue from
Operations of the Company for the quarter is Rs 2519 crore against Rs 2421 crore during the corresponding previous quarter ended 30th June,
2019. Profit After Tax for the current quarter is Rs 723 crore against Rs 881 crore for the corresponding previous quarter.
NHPC shall be recruiting 86 Trainee Engineers/ Trainee Officers to fulfill the organizational requirements of our growing company.
CMD, NHPC met Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs at New Delhi on 02.08.2020.
During the meeting, the concept of utilizing NHPC’s project areas and developing their reservoirs as tourism hotspots in Himachal Pradesh was
discussed. Deliberations about strategies for speeding up hydropower development in country was held. Skill development of locals in and around
NHPC project areas was also discussed.
CMD, NHPC held a meeting with Shri N. Biren Singh, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur at Manipur Bhawan, New Delhi on 20.08.2020. During the
meeting, issues related to signing of Power Purchase Agreement and arrangement of grant of Rs.400 Crore for implementation of Loktak
Downstream Hydroelectric Project (2 X33 MW) were discussed. PPA has been signed on 31.08.2020 with Govt of Manipur.
Extension of Injection of Infirm Power into Grid upto 31.08.2021 of 800 MW Parbati-II Project granted by CERC.
In case of RFS for 2000 MW (ISTS) Grid Connected Solar Photo Voltaic Projects to be set up anywhere in India, PSA for 300 MW signed with
JKPCL (J&K) and 1000 MW has been signed on 28.08.2020 with MPPMCL (MP).
After signing of PSA, Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) has also been signed on 31.08.2020 with M/s Eden Renewable Passy Private Limited for
300 MW &AltraXergi Power Private Limited for 380 MW. Signing of PSA for balance 700 MW & PPA for 1320 MW is expected shortly.
An MOU was signed on 25.08.2020 with Faridabad District Administration for institutionalizing ‘Shikshit Haryana Scheme’, leading to setting up of
Project Management Unit aimed towards improvement of infrastructural facilities in Government Schools located in Faridabad.
During the month of August, total revenue collection from the beneficiaries was Rs.494.45/- crore (excluding deviation).
The total cumulative generation of all NHPC power stations till the month of August 2020 stands at 14828.1MUs.

Highlights of July 2020


NHPC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Green Energy Development Corporation of Odisha Ltd. (GEDCOL), a leading State
PSU in the renewable energy sector in Odisha for “Development of 500 MW Floating Solar Projects in Odisha under UMREPP”on 20.07.2020.
The total estimated investment shall be to the tune of Rs. 2500 Crore.
CMD,NHPC along with Director (Projects) visited Subansiri Lower Project from 23.07.2020 to 24.07.2020 and held discussions with project
management and major contractors for expediting progress of works.
Cabinet Secretary on 01.07.2020 took a meeting on implementation of 850 MW Ratle H E Project.
Letter of Award (LOA) to Solar Power Developer for interstate transmission system (ISTS) grid connected photovoltaic projects for 400 MW
installed capacity were issued on 09.07.2020. Earlier, LOA for 1600 MW were issued in June 2020.
NHPC’s Corporate Office has been certified for Quality Management System under ISO 9001:2015, for Environmental Management System
under ISO 14001:2015 and for Occupational Health and Safety Management System under ISO 45001:2018 on 13.07.2020.
NHPC organized ‘अपनापेड़’ programme under Van Mahotsav 2020- a plantation drive in NHPC Residential Colony, Faridabad on 11.07.2020.
A blood donation camp was successfully organized in NHPC Residential Colony, Faridabad on 12.7.2020 in association with Rotary Club of
Faridabad Midtown.
The first instalment of the 2nd batch of NHPC Sports Scholarships for upcoming sportspersons was released to the selected sports persons on
29.07.2020.
Central Power Sector PSUs, led by NHPC, provided Medical Equipments worth Rs. 25.63 lakh under their CSR schemes for Sadar Hospital of
Arrah, Bihar.
‘Experience Centre’ at Neer Shakti Sadan, Corporate Office was inaugurated on 10.07.2020. ‘Experience Centre’ showcases NHPC’s profile and
its operations.
During the month of July, total revenue collection from the beneficiaries was Rs. 819 crore (excluding deviation), made by Commercial Division in
COVID times.

Highlights of June 2020


CMD, NHPC held discussions with the Principal Secretary, Additional Sources of Energy, UP and other officials regarding development of solar
projects in UP on 12.06.2020 regarding project implementation of 600 MW.
CMD, NHPC reviewed the progress of 65 MW Kalpi, 60 MW Madhogarh and 100 MW Pratapgarh solar projects by BSUL.
Financial results of the Company were declared on 27.06.2020. NHPC recorded its highest ever annual profit of Rs. 3007 crore.
An MoU was signed on 22.6.2020 with Hydropower Investment and Development Company Limited, Nepal for jointly developing hydropower
projects in Nepal.
Shri Tanmay Kumar, IAS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power has been appointed Government Nominee Director on the Board of NHPC Limited
with effect from 11.06.2020.
Parliamentary Committee on welfare of OBCs on 29.06.2020 examined “Measures undertaken to secure representation representation of OBCs
in employment and for their welfare in PSUs and other organizations under Ministry of Power” and appreciated NHPC’s efforts in bringing social
equality and its excellent CSR works.
Various issues related to development of solar projects in Andhra Pradesh were discussed with Shri C.M. Ramesh, Hon’ble Member of Parliament
(Rajya Sabha) during his visit to NHPC Corporate Office on 18.06.2020.
Fulfilling the career advancement aspirations of the employees, 658 promotions were made.
Letter of Awards (LOA) were given to solar power developers for interstate transmission system (ISTS) grid connected photovoltaic projects
aggregating to 1600 MW installed capacity.
The work for “Execution of 1500 metre Head Race Tunnel works for Parbati-II HE Project” was awarded.
World Environment Day 2020 was celebrated across NHPC locations on 5.06.2020
The International Day of Yoga 2020 was observed across NHPC through electronic and digital platforms following ‘Yoga at home, Yoga with
Family’ theme in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
NHPC provided financial assistance of Rs. 2 lakh to the Red Cross Society, Faridabad for providing all essential services to deprived and under
privileged people with food items, dry ration packets masks etc for fighting COVID-19.

On 29.05.2020, CMD-NHPC met Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Sh. R.K Mathur, for further development of Hydro and RE projects in
the UT of Ladakh. Hon’ble Lt. Governor appreciated the developmental works being carried out by NHPC in UT of Ladakh and assured full
support for all future endeavours.
CEA has vetted the hard cost of 2880 MW Dibang Multipurpose Project in Arunachal Pradesh including flood moderation, IDC & FC.
The board of NHPC approved to raise debt of up to Rs. 2,000 crore during 2020-21 through issuance of secured, redeemable, non-cumulative,
non-convertible taxable corporate bonds in one or more series/tranches on private placement basis.
Swachhta Pakhwada observed from 16.05.2020 to 31.05.2020 and Anti-Terrorism Day was observed on 21.05.2020 across NHPC locations.

Highlights of February 2020


NHPC has reported total revenue of Rs. 1860 crore for the quarter ended December 31st, 2019 as against Rs.1691 crore during the previous
corresponding period registering a growth of 10%. The revenue of the company stands at Rs. 7473 crore during the nine months ended
December 31, 2019 as against Rs. 6900 crore during the previous corresponding period of nine months ended December 31, 2018 resulting into
growth of 8%.
NHPC has achieved highest ever generation of 24209 MUs since its incorporation, surpassing its previous highest generation of 24193 MUs in
current F.Y 2019-2020 (upto 23.02.2020).
NHPC Power Stations generated 1130 MUs in the month of February 2020. The cumulative generation till 29.02.2020 stand at 24465 MUs.
NHPC has been conferred with CBIP Awards 2020 for “Outstanding performing utility in hydro power sector” on 19.02.2020.
During 30th National Meet of WIPS held at Hyderabad on 11.02.2020, NHPC has been conferred with “Recognition of WIPS Activities Award, a

NHPC has been declared the successful resolution applicant by the Committee of Creditors (CoC) of Jal Power Corporation Limited (120 MW
Rangit Stage IV HE Project), subject to approval of Resolution Plan by the Hon'ble National Company Law Tribunal, Hyderabad Bench.
State-of-Art ‘Data Centre’ was inaugurated on 21.1.2020 at Corporate Office, Faridabad which is designed to meet the modern-day high-volume
computing needs of NHPC’s enterprise wide data of ERP, e-Office, legacy systems and email.
NHPC has implemented an Information Security Management System (ISMS) in accordance with ISMS 27001:2013 for IT & Communication
Division and Data Centre, Corporate Office.
Salal Power Station has recorded its highest ever generation of 3592 MUs (achieved on 27.1.2020) since its commissioning
The cumulative power generation of all NHPC Power Stations stands at 23,335 MUs upto the month of January 2020.

Highlights of December 2019


NHPC Ltd. and NEA Engineering Co. Ltd., Nepal exchanged ‘Letters of Intent” for mutual co-operation in the field of Design & Engineering on
13.12.19. This exchange would start a new journey of cooperation between India and Nepal for hydropower development in Nepal.
NHPC Teams achieved award winning positions in 24th Inter CPSU Badminton and 24th Inter CPSU Volleyball Tournament organized by REC
and BBMB respectively.
NHPC successfully hosted 22nd Inter CPSU Carrom Tournament at Siliguri.
The cumulative power generation of all NHPC Power Stations stood at 22156 MUs upto the month of December 2019.

NHPC has reported a 9.93% growth in the standalone net profit at Rs. 1339.46 Crore during second quarter of current fiscal FY 2019-20 against
Rs. 1218.51 Crore of the corresponding period.
NHPC exchanged letter of Intent with HIDCL (Hydroelectricity Investment and Development Company Ltd. – A company owned by Govt. of
Nepal) for joint cooperation on development of hydropower in Nepal during ‘Power Summit 2019’organised from 21st to 22nd November 2019 at
Kathmandu, Nepal.
Assessment Development Centre was inaugurated on November 14th 2019 at NHPC Office, Faridabad which aims to strengthen leadership
capabilities for assuming higher roles and responsibilities in the organization
