1. Interface Description
1.1 Main User Interface
Run WriteIMEI.exe program，the main user interface is shown as Figure 1-1.

The items and its function of main user interface are shown in Table 1-1.

Click setup button to open setup dialog.
1.2 Setup Interface

Click the setup button on the main interface to enter setting dialog, as shown in
Figure 1-2.

1.2.1 Setup options of writing IMEI

Select the IMEI setting page and set the write IMEI options.
1. IMEI number and check settings
Set the number of IMEI through “ImeiNum” drop-down list on the interface.
Enable validity checking、repeatability checking 、saving function and the imeis same
control by select the appropriate options.
2. IMEI generation mode settings
 Default mode: the main IMEI number is input by keyboard or scan gun and it also
can set as default values. In addition to the above methods, other IMEI number
has another generation method which is to increase the corresponding step based
on the main IMEI value. As shown in Figure 1-3.

 From data file is chosen to get the IMEI from an excel file in which there must be
a table called IMEI and the IMEI numbers are listed in the first column.
 If Custom number is chosen, you have to input the initial IMEI in the initial
number and designate the position to be generated automatically in the mask.
Attention: Initial number and mask must match and * represents the position to be
generated automatically. Max limited number is used for “From data file” and
“Custom number”. It means that you can’t add any IMEI when it has imputed that
number of IMEI.
 The max limited number is used to limit the number of IMEI written to the phone
in from data file mode and custom mode.
 Default IMEI is used in default mode.
Note:
Except for the manual input mode, the other generation modes support continuous plug operation,
that is, after the completion of the write, the phone will be pulled down, the program will
automatically detect whether there is a new device connected to the port.
1.2.2 Setup options of writing SN

Similarly, Select the SN setting page and set the write SN options. As shown in
Figure 1-4.

 Manual input is chosen to input the SN with the keyboard or a scanner.

 Automatic input is to generate SN according to the date and other information.
 From data file is chosen to get the SN from a excel file in which
there must be a table called MBSN/PSN and the SN numbers are listed in
the first column.
 If Custom number is chosen, you have to input the initial SN in the initial number
and designate the position to be generated automatically in the mask. Attention:
Initial number and mask must match and * represents the position to be generated
automatically. Max limited number is used for “From data file” and “Custom
number”. It means that you can’t add any SN when it has imputed that number of
IMEI.

from data file mode and custom mode.

Select the BlueTooth setting page and set the write BT options. As shown in
Figure 1-5.

 Manual input is chosen to input the SN with the keyboard or a scanner. The input
BT number must be composed of legitimate numbers or letters, if it is invalid,
there will be a corresponding prompt.
 Automatic mode: automatically generate BT number according to the time or the
address.

2.1 Quick Start Guide
1. Running
Run WriteImei.exe. The main interface is shown as Figure 1-1.
2. Select port/device
The port name will automatically display on the port button after the mobile
phone successfully connected. If connection failed, it will display “port (none)”, as
shown in Figure 2-1.

3. Parameter setting
Click setup button on the main interface to open setup dialog. Set the phase
check and other parameter, as shown in Figure 1-2.
4. Begin to write
Click the start button on the main interface.
Version Check description
1) Check operation
Version input box cannot be empty;
If version check failed, the check operation cannot be carried out.
2) Read operation
If the version input box is not empty, then the version check will be
carried out. The read operation cannot be carried out if the version check
is failed.
If the version input box is empty, then version read will be carried out
and the result will be shown in the version box.
5. Writing complete
The information box output information and the status box will also show
unmount, idle, writing, finished or error during the writing process.

2.2 Instruction of production and test

2.2.1 Illustration of USB Mode
USB mode,no battery powered is required and it needs to hold down the OK
button and then insert the USB cable.You can loosen the OK button if the port is
identified.
Please make sure the OK button can be checked.OK button is the default key
used to enter USB download mode during CHARGE boot and it can be configured in
the software. See KEY_USB_BOOT_DOWNLOAD definition (target / <target_name>
/ include / tgt_board_cfg.h). Note that when KEY_USB_BOOT_DOWNLOAD is
modified, make sure the download fixture is also synchronized.
Other methods to enter the USB mode cannot guarantee reliability, and
cannot be used in production.
2.2.1 Illustration of COM Mode

If the COM mode is used, it needs to connect the phone to PC using USB serial
device, and the battery powered is required. Hold down the power button until the
screen is lighted up. Make sure to start when the screen is lit.
USB mode has higher stability and efficiency. We strongly recommend using
USB mode in production.
Note: The COM range is 0 ~ 255. If the port is out of the prescribed scope, such
as COM366, please select the port again.
2.3 Language Setting
