1. What are the qualification of Board members?

➢ Each Board member must be a Filipino citizen of high moral character, at least 30 years of
age, and not a member of the faculty of any school, college, or university that teaches
radiologic technology. During his term as a board member, he has no financial interest in
such an entity. The first three board members must be radiologic technologists with a
combined experience of at least ten (10) years in the field. One of the Board members
must be a radiologist with at least 10 years of experience in the field. A medical physicist
with at least ten (10) years of experience practicing as a medical physicist is required to
serve as the board's third (1) member.

2. What are the duties and functions of the Board?

➢ In order to carry out the mandate of this Republic Act No. 7431, the Board members were
required to enforce its provisions and administer oaths in accordance with its wording.
This includes issuing licenses for the practice of radiologic and x-ray technology after an
investigation, suspending or revoking them. It is my duty to look into any claimed
violations of this law and the rules and regulations promulgated thereunder, and to issue
subpoenas and subpoena duces tecum to any suspected violators or witnesses in order to
ensure their presence at any investigations or hearings. Examine radiologic and x-ray
technology examinees for the Professional Regulation Commission on a yearly basis. To
keep an eye on the state of radiologic technology and x-ray technology in the Philippines
at least once a year. Adopting a seal to show the authenticity of its official papers, as well
as publishing rules and regulations to carry out the provisions of this act.

3. What are the reasons for the removal of Board members?

➢ The President has the power to remove any member of the Board if the Commission finds
them to be in violation of their duties, incompetent, or engaging in behavior befitting of their
positions of authority, such as being unprofessional, immoral, or dishonorable.

4. Discuss the term of office of the Board members?

➢ For the duration of their tenure, the members of the Boards will serve until their
successors are elected and duly qualified, except that the first appointees to the Board will
serve for the remainder of their term. One (1) year each for the two (2) members and the
chairman, three (3) years each. Only the unexpired terms of the vacant positions are filled.
5. What are the requirements for the practice of radiologic technology?

➢ No one can perform radiologic or x-ray technology unless they have been exempted from the
examination under sections 16 and 17. All radiology/x-ray technologists in the Philippines
must be registered with the Board before they can practice their profession.

6. What are the exemptions from examination in radiologic technology?

➢ According to Section 7, those who are not required to take an examination in radiologic
technology might become the board's first members without taking the exam themselves
(b). For radiologists from other countries invited for consultation or as universities
recognized by the government, they must first obtain a special permit from the Board
provided that this privilege granted in this subsection given only to radiologic
technologists from countries giving a similar opportunity to their Filipino counterparts.
Those who had previously passed the Department of Health's ability test for medical
radiation technologists administered by the Radiation Health Office, Radiological Health
Service, or Radiation Health Service before the passage of this legislation are now eligible.
Those who have passed the Civil Service x-ray technician examination or the knowledge
examination for medical radiation technicians administered by the Department of Health
through its Radiation Health Office, Radiological Health Service, or Radiation Health
Service, with ten (10) years of continuous practice of radiologic technology after passing
one of these mentioned examinations before this act was approved.

7. What are the requirements and qualifications for the examination?

➢ All radiologic technologist and x-ray technologist applicants must go through this process.
Every year, the Board will administer an exam through its commission. Every candidate for
the examination must be a Filipino citizen who has neither been imprisoned or convicted
of a crime of moral turpitude. When applying for a radiologic technology diploma, one
must have a bachelor's degree in radiologic technology from an accredited institution,
college, or university in order to do so. To sit for the x-ray technology exam, one must
obtain an associate degree in radiologic technology from an accredited school.

8. Discuss the report ratings.

➢ Each candidate's score must be reported to a commission within one hundred twenty
(120) days of the exam's conclusion, and the commission will then submit its findings to
President Aquino for his consideration and approval. Candidate must score at least 75
percent on the weighted average, with no score below 60 percent in any of the subjects.
There must be a 75 percent score in each subject to pass the retake exam. The repeated
examinees are required to take the complete test after the third time they have taken it.
9. Discuss the penalty as stated in section 26.

➢ Radiologic or x-ray technologists who are found negligent face a fine of up to forty
thousand pesos (40,000) each time. This fine cannot be less than one thousand pesos
(10,000). (40,000). Penalties might range from one year up to six years, depending on the
seriousness of the crime that was committed.

10. What are the different violations stated in section 26.

➢ Section 26 lists a variety of offenses that can be committed. Retributive Measures This Act
makes it illegal to conduct business without a valid registration certificate. Giving or
utilizing another person's official identification document as his/her own. Expiring
licenses, suspended or revoked certificates of registration, and driving without proper
registration. Acquiring an official certificate of registration by submitting any falsified or
fraudulent proof to the Board of Radiologic Technology. If he/she is using any other name
which conveys the impression that he/she is a registered x-ray or radiologic technologist,
he/she would be in violation of any provision of this Act.
