Hollywood is a district of Los Angeles in California. USA. The Walk of Fame is in the centre
of the district on Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street. It is over two kilometers long, and has

THE LIFE OF SUPERMARKET MANAGER
Jonathan Matthews left school at seventeen, went to college and then worked in his father’s mini
market. After two years, he went to work for Bargain Foods and then he joined Saver Mall as a

Passage 2:
A POPULAR TEACHER
Jane Bridges teaches teenagers in my school in Newcastle, in the north of England. Jane worked
for a large international company in an office in London for many years before she changed her
career. Although she earned a lot more money in London, Jane decided she was bored with her

job, and she was unhappy at work. Jane says that teaching is interesting every day and now she
feels that she is doing something useful and important.
Jane thinks that her time as a successful businesswoman made her a strong person, and this helps
her in the classroom. She also remembers how difficult school was at times, when she was a
teenager herself, and how tiring it could be to have to study every day.
Jane believes that using computers and the internet is the best way to make her students excited
about our lessons. She discusses subjects that we are interested in and makes these things part of
her lessons. By doing this, we don't feel that we are doing something difficult or boring but
actually we learn a lot more.
All her students even send their homework to Jane by email and every class that she teaches has
their own Facebook group. Here students can chat about what we are learning, and we can also
share ideas. It is not surprising that Jane is one of the most popular teachers in my school.

My name is Bella. I love Sunday because there is no school and I have a lot of free time to relax

Passage 2:

Tim Brown works as a customer service representative for a big company in Sacramento,

What to do in Edinburgh ….

1. When it’s raining: Go to Edinburgh Castle

Edinburgh Castle is a very old building, high on a hill in the centre of Edinburgh. You
can take a tour of the castle or walk around on your own. You can see many
interesting exhibitions, including the Scottish Kings and Queens of the past, and the
National War Museum. If the sun comes out, you have a fantastic view of the shops
and buildings on Edinburgh’s famous street, the Royal Mile.

Arthur’s Seat is a high hill in the centre of Edinburgh with excellent views of the city.
You can choose an easy walk or a difficult walk to the top, depending on how fit you
