HT Media

HT Media is an Indian mass media company based in Delhi, India. It has holdings in print,
electronic and digital media.

HT Media's flagship newspaper is the Hindustan Times, the second most widely read English
newspaper in India after The Times of India. It also publishes Mint, an Indian financial daily
newspaper. Other publications include the Hindi-language daily Hindustan, the Hindi-
language literary magazine Kadambini, and Hindi-language children's magazine Nandan. It
operates 19 printing facilities across India with an installed capacity of 1.5 million copies per
hour.

HT’s online business, is largely handled by Firefly e-ventures internet business, include the
flagship web portal Hindustantimes.com, Livemint.com, Desimartini.com, HTCampus.com
and Shine.com.

Although a public company listed on both the BSE and NSE, HT Media Ltd. is majority
owned and controlled by the KK Birla family, with Shobhana Bhartia, daughter of K. K.
Birla, its Chairperson.

Growth of HT Media :

1. The Hindustan Times : Hindustan Times is an Indian English-language daily newspaper


introduced and founded in 1924 by Sunder Singh Lyallpuri, founder-father of the Akali
movement and the Shiromani Akali Dal in the Punjab Province. It played integral roles in the
Indian independence movement as a nationalist daily. The newspaper is owned by Shobhana
Bhartia. It is the flagship publication of HT Media, an entity controlled by the KK Birla
family.

2. Hindustan : Hindustan Dainik or ''Hindustan'' is an Indian Hindi-language daily


newspaper. According to Audit Bureau of Circulations, it is ranked 13th in the world by
circulation and 6th in India. Madan Mohan Malaviya launched it in 1936. It is published by
Hindustan Media Ventures Limited. Earlier it was part of HT Media Ltd group, which spun
off its Hindi business into a separate company named Hindustan Media Ventures Limited in
December 2009.

3. Kadambini : Kadambini is a noted Hindi-language literary monthly magazine from Delhi-


based Hindustan Times Media. Established in 1960, it covers a wide range of subjects
including literature, science, history, sociology, politics, films and sports.

4. Fever 104 FM : Fever FM (by HT Media Ltd.) is an FM radio station in India. It is


currently available in 13 cities in India:

 Delhi (as Fever 104 FM)


 Mumbai, MH (as Fever 104 FM)
 Etc.
5. Mint : Mint is an Indian financial daily newspaper published by HT Media, a Delhi-based
media group which is controlled by the KK Birla family and also publishes Hindustan Times.
It mostly targets readers who are business executives and policy makers. It has been in
circulation since 2007.
