double walk. Students will be guided to the different positions that are used in dual stunts,
V. LESSON CONTENT
DUAL STUNTS
Dual stunts, also called partner stunts, are a gymnastic-related activity that requires two
people, and they are commonly used in dance, acrobatics and cheerleading routines. Partner
stunts should be learned in a progression of easy to hard rather than learning individual stunts
for a certain routine.
1. Double Bear
a. The base proceeds to a dog stand position.
b. Top assumes the same position directly above the base, with hands on the shoulders and
knees on the hips of the base.
c. Touch up the final position by holding heads up and back straight.
2. Table
a. The base is in bridge stand position.
b. Top straddles base facing the rear and positions his hands on base’s shoulders.
c. His feet are now placed on top of the base’s knees, forming same bridge stand position.
d. Heads are positioned so they look towards the ceiling.
3. Double Walk
a. Base and top stand face-to-face.
b. Top stands diagonally across base’s insteps.
c. Base and top grasp each other’s upper arms; base walks forward.
d. Top shifts weight as base walks so that base can get his/her foot off the floor.
A. Activity
The different dual stunts are done using distinct positions as may be seen in the
supplemental handout. Identify and perform the positions that are used in performing the dual
stunts and present them in a video. Add some more positions to make a total of ten positions. In
your video presentation, identify the dual stunt where the position/s that you will perform is/are
used, give the name of the position/s, and execute the position/s.
VII. ASSIGNMENT
What values may be acquired in performing dual stunts? Discuss the importance of
these values in life.
