Guest Speakers
Pr. Donaldson is a native of Washington, D.C. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work
from Hampton University, a Master of Divinity from Andrews University, and a Doctor of Ministry
from Andrews University.
Pr. Donaldson has distinguished himself as a pastor, evangelist, and church planter. He has been
privileged to preach the gospel message in Russia, Korea, England, Bermuda, Canada, India,
extensively across Africa and the United States. Many persons have been touched by his sermons,
taught in his workshops, and changed by his seminars.
He has enjoyed pastorates in the Franklin-Williamsburg district in Virginia, Mt. Sinai Seventh-day
Adventist Church in Trenton, New Jersey, the historic Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church in
Richmond, Virginia, and the Capitol Hill SDA church in Washington.
In 2012 he was one of ten pastors in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area to receive the
prestigious ecumenical award for outstanding pastoral leadership. In 2013 Pr. Donaldson led the
Capitol Hill Church in completing a multi-million dollar church renovation project. In 2015 received
the Man of Honor award for Outstanding Community Service. In 2016 Dr. Donaldson was honoured
to have the gym/multipurpose facility at the Ephesus church named after him.
In 2017 Pr. Donaldson was elected by the constituents of the AEC to serve as Ministerial Director.
Pr. Gene Donaldson Pr. Donaldson is also a certified Workplace Mediator. Pr. Donaldson is married to the former
Barbara Carter. Barbara is a retired Public School Administrator. They have two children from their
Main Speaker union; Dawn and Trevor; six grandchildren Madison, Trevor Jr., Michael, Daylin, David, and Maxwell.

Pr. Mazuba Lovemore Mwanamuchende is from Zambia. He is currently attached to Brentwood

Drive Seventh-day Adventist Church of Woodlands Conference - Zambia as a Training Pastor and
Elder. He works for the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services under the
department of Child with the Zambian Government. Pastor holds a Diploma in Gender and
Development Studies from Evelyn Hone College and a BA in Theology with Rusangu University.
Pastor Mazuba has a passion for Children Ministry and Prayer. Currently, he is running an online
ministry called, "The House of Prayer" on Facebook that seeks to encourage people in the power
of prayer. He is blessed with a wife, Mainza Munene Mwanamuchende and a miraculously born
daughter, Emmanuella Chipo Mwanamuchende aged 1 year and 6 months.

Children’s Speaker

The Heralds Choir was started in 1995, with a membership of only Four (4) people, Two (2) of whom
have rested in the past years, with the other Two (2) still being active members of the Choir. The
Choir's membership has grown over time, and currently stands at Forty (40) members, comprising
members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church affiliated to Najjanankumbi SDA Church in the Central
Uganda Conference. The Choir has Four (4) patrons, with Seven (7) of its active members being Church
Elders.
Throughout its Twenty Seven (27) years of existence, the Choir has recorded Eight (8) audio music
volumes and Three (3) video volumes. All the latest video recordings are available on the Choirs
YouTube channel (The Heralds Choir Ug). The Choir sings all genres of gospel music including southern
gospel, hymns, spirituals and classical.
The Choir has on many occasions physically served through music in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and
The Heralds Choir Rwanda and online, through zoom, in the UK, USA and Canada. The Choir operates a recording studio
for gospel music and owns a number of equipment that help in the music ministry. Members of The
Guest Choir Heralds Choir are messengers of the Good News to all the world.

Pr. Felix Ponyatovskiy is an ordained minister of the Gospel having served in Ukraine as a pastor
and Youth Director and Adventist Mission Coordinator. He has over ten years’ experience in
lecturing in the Old Testament and as an administrator. He currently serves at the Adventist
University of Africa (AUA) as the Programme Leader, Master of Divinity. He is happily married to
Lilia and they have two lovely children, Yan and Teresa.

Guest Speakers

Jess and Japheth Rono are committed servants of God, lovers of the Word. They enjoy
spending time with Jesus, studying the everlasting gospel. They are both converts into the faith
in their teenage years and have engaged in lay ministry ever since. They recently entered into
the marriage covenant and are seeking to unite their complementary lines of laic service to help
hasten the second advent of Jesus. Jess and Japheth will be Family Life speakers for the
Collegiates.

Pr. Benjamin Okindo serves as District Pastor at Pipeline, Nairobi.

He is a Graduate of Religion and Theology from the Adventist University of the Philippines, and
has a passion for mission and sharing Christ in cross-cultural settings.
He is an advocate for strong Christian Families and loves working with Young People
encouraging them not to conform to this world but to be transformed by the renewal of their
minds as embodied in Romans 12:1-2. Pr. Benjamin Okindo will be the Family Life speaker for
Young Adults.

Working with families in preparation for the Pr. J.P. Maiywa is the Youth, Chaplaincy, and
Evangelism Director in CKC. He has been married to Sarah Wangui Maiywa for 25 years and they
have been blessed with four children namely: Brian, Brez, Brandon and Brenda-Maryam. He has
previously served as Senior Pastor of Nairobi Central, Karengata, Laiser Hill, NewLife North
Minneapolis USA and Kiamunyi East Church and also Associate pastor at Newlife. He is currently a
PhD candidate at KU. He holds an MA, and BA in Theology. of this gospel is my honoured privilege.

Jacynter Were is a happy single mother of 3 most precious daughters, and additional blessings of 4
adorable grandchildren. She lives to serve God both in and outside the Church. A holder of MSc in
Governance Peace and Security with a background in water technology, Jacynter serves as a water
resources expert at the Water Resources Authority. She uses her skills and expertise to serve the Church
in various capacities, and was honored to serve as the Pathfinder Director of the Flying Marines
Pathfinder Club of SDA Church Newlife. She loves being in nature, and has a soft spot for the singles. She
lives by faith, and is a living testimony of the Lords’ goodness, mercy and power especially to the single
families struggling to raise their children.
Jacynter welcomes all the singles to the camp meeting to share experiences and encourage one
another. Come let us learn together how to depend on God and take Him at His word. Amen

Prof. Miriam Mwita is a Professor of Linguistics and African Languages in the Department of Humanities and Social
Science at the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton. She has many years’ experience in University teaching,
Institutional and academic management. She earned her undergraduate degree in Kiswahili and Sociology and Master
of Art in Linguistics and African Languages degree from University of Nairobi. Her Doctor of Philosophy in Kiswahili
Studies is from Moi University Eldoret. She was a lecturer at Moi University before joining University of Eastern Africa
Baraton. She has many publications in both local and international refereed journals. Prof. Mwita is a researcher in the
areas of language, literature, and culture and has been a board member in many international and local organizations
including various government agencies like the Commission for University Education.
Prof. Mwita is currently a Consultant in Kiswahili Language and Translation, and is committed in working with various
communities’ groups with an aim of motivating and encouraging singles and widows. Her spare time is used in
mentoring young people.

Pastor Lavern Rangarira (Moyo) has been a Pastor for 17 years now. He is the last born of 6
children and was also born in a Pastor’s family. He has a Bachelors in Theology (Solusi University),
a Certificate in Project and Programme Monitoring and Evaluation, a Special Honors Degree in
Monitoring and Evaluation. Currently he is studying towards Masters Degree in Monitoring &
Evaluation (Lupane University) and also a Post-Graduate Degree in Development Studies
(Zimbabwe Open University). He has been a Family Counsellor for 17 years and has preached both
physically and in the virtual space in China, USA, UK, Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, Dubai, South Africa,
Zambia, Botswana and Lesotho. Married to Tafadzwa with whom they have two boys, Ethan (11)
and Ariel (8), Pastor Lavern enjoys playing soccer with his boys and spending time with his family.

Evangelist Ishmael Otieno, is a High School Principal and a Lay Representative in the West
Kenya Union Conference Evangelism Committee. He is a powerful and seasonal preacher,
teacher and a Master Guide. He is also a member of Ranen Conference Executive Committee.

Pr. Daniel Ganu is an Associate Professor of Public Health at the School of Postgraduate Studies, Department
of Applied Sciences at the Adventist University of Africa (AUA), Kenya. He earned his Undergraduate Degree
in Theology and Health Science from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan, USA and his Masters
and Doctor of Public Health Degrees from the Adventist University of the Philippines.
Previously a Senior Lecturer and Dean of Academic Administration at the Valley View University in Ghana, he
currently serves as the Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies at AUA. He has published several articles in
international refereed journals. His research interests are in children’s health, drug abuse, spirituality and
health, mental health, and health promotion. Married to Prof. Josephine Ganu, they are blessed with a
daughter, Grace Mawunyo Ganu.

Dr. Ochanda is a Church Elder and Patron of the University of Nairobi SDA Group, a consultant physician and neurologist,
and a lecturer in the Department of Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Nairobi. He lectures on pharmacology and
medicine to undergraduates and postgraduate students in Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing.

Dr Ochanda has held many positions of responsibility including the Provincial Physician for Central Province in Kenya. His
passion for service made him the Executive Director for the International Commission for the Prevention of Alcoholism
and Drug Addiction, the coordinator of Kisaju Medical Services under the SDA Church and run an alcoholism rehabilitation
and stop smoking programme at the Better Living Centre. He has research interests in HIV and related ailments.

He is blessed with a wife Mrs. Esther Ochanda. Together, GOD has blessed them with six children, three boys and three
girls who are all grown up. Dr. Ochanda loves the Lord and is committed to serving Him.

Message from the Pastorate & Eldership

Camp Meeting is a season of refreshing from the Lord. Despite the unprecedented world wide uncertainties
orchestrated by Covid-19 pandemic, political turmoils, and economic hardship being witnessed, the Lord has been
gracious to His people and we, the Nairobi Central SDA Church are witnesses of His great mercy.
It's in this spirit of gratitude to our God we invite our members and invited guests to the 2022 Camp meeting
themed: "I Will Go and Proclaim the Three Angels' Messages."
From of old the Feast of tabernacles has been associated with revival, changed lives, renewed dedication, and new
goals among those who attend. (Nehemiah 8:13-18;John 7)
Whether with us in-person or tuning in online, it is our prayer as the Pastorate that you will be blessed, refreshed,
and ultimately transformed in readiness for His glorious appearing.

Message From The Camp Meeting Chair

Saints of the Most High,

Greetings and welcome to our 2022 Nairobi Central Church Camp Meeting. Time has
surely passed by fast. It feels like just yesterday when we held and celebrated our 2021
Spiritually uplifting Camp Meeting.
This year, by God’s grace we have planned to have a physical Camp Meeting. We will
also stream the thematic sessions live in the usual social media platforms.
Kindly continue to pray for our guests whom the Lord has appointed to convey His
message to us.
It is my prayer that we will all be rejuvenated and reformed to continue in the
‘evangelical walk’, serving our Lord in truth and Spirit.
The theme this year from Rev 14:6-9, “I will go and proclaim the three angels’
messages” is a very timely and candid truth for our time. An urgent injunction for our
Christian journey, and a message of great hope in this uncertain world.
The Pastorate and the Camp Meeting Committee, thank you all for your support in
prayers and sacrificial monetary giving, to make the camp a success. Come, let us Seek
our Lord and worship Him in earnest for the entire week.

angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark
in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out
without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the
presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up
for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever
receiveth the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments
