Dear Sir/Madam,
It is of my pleasure to apply for the post of Deputy Country Director, Sana'a, Yemen at Mercy Corps.
I have long experience in working for the Global Fund’s grant to the National TB Control Program (NTCP) as
a program Technical officer for four years and as a manager of TB program for Three years under IOM as
sub recipient. My role as a Program Technical officer for TB Program introduced me to all administrative
and technical issues of the program and my role as a manager for NTCP introduced me to all managerial
issues of the Program.
Through my management experience I responsible for all administrative matters of the NTCP and dealing
with different agencies and partners such as the International Organization for Migration (IOM) with regard
to migrants and displaced persons, such as providing primary health care services to migrants and
internally displaced persons, transferring them to specialized services when necessary through the mobile
medical team as well as coordinating the provision of health services to targeted beneficiaries in the
country and Monitor and manage of the day-to-day activities of the program.
I am also familiar with donor policies, requirements and procedures of GF and work with WHO in technical
assistance aspects as well as with IDA, GDF in the procurement of medicines, reagents and medical
equipment, worked with UNHCR in some projects related to IDPs and worked with UNICEF on TB among
children.
I have the ability to manage the procurement related issues and coordinate between the different sections
of the program, dealing with Ministry of Public Health. Moreover, I have participated in the development
of work plans, development of the national strategic plan, participated in national and international
meetings, conferences, training and workshops as well as participated in Health Cluster meetings at MOH.
I am knowledgeable in disseminating project information to project stakeholders, monitoring the progress
of projects, developing and maintaining project deliverables and gathering and inputting data into
databases. More so, I have been involved with HIV/AIDS initiatives, community mobilization, monitoring
and evaluation, field research as well as planning and implementing community based projects.
It is clear from my CV that, I have a long experience working in health sector for more than 10 years, four
years of which I was practicing in hospital as community nurse and work in various departments, the main
deities were Provide health related counseling on the prevention of communicable diseases, introduce
general health related information and instruction to individuals, families and community groups, health
assessment of individuals and families, follow up and registration of patients, drugs distribution, data
collection and participated in epidemiological surveys and field researches.
I have high academic qualification in Community Medicine, Health Sciences and Nursing in addition to
practical experience in the field of Public and Community Health.
I’m confident that the knowledge, skills and experience I gained throughout my different stages of my
career will empowered me to the vacancy of Deputy Country Director in a professional and competent
manner as well as I am looking for a position in a challenging environment that strives for organizational
and personal development.
