Long Answer Type Questions:
1. The length, breadth and height of a room are 8m 25cm, 6m 75
cm and 4 m 50 cm respectively. Determine the largest chord
that can measure the three dimensions exactly.

2. If three bells toll at intervals 12 minutes, 15 minutes and 18


minutes respectively. If they start tolling together after what
time will they next toll together.

3. Prove that the reciprocal of 3 + 2√2 is an irrational number.

4. A merchant has 120 litres of and 180 litres of two kinds of oil.
He wants to sell oil by filling the two kinds of oil in tins of equal
volumes. What is the greatest of such a tin.

5. The sum of two numbers is 588 and their HCF is 49. How
many such pairs of numbers can be formed ?

6. The product of two numbers is 2028 and their H.C.F. is 13.


Find the number of such pairs.

7. Lenin is preparing dinner plates. He has 12 pieces of chicken


and 16 rolls. If he wants to make all the plates identical without
any food left over, what is the greatest number of plates Lenin
can prepare ?

8. The drama club meets in the school auditorium every 2 days,


and the choir meets there every 5 days. If the groups are both
meeting in the auditorium today, then how many days from
now will they next have to share the auditorium ?
