Global Warming: Causes
Greenhouse gases, climate change, ocean level rise... blah blah. We all have heard this. But
how many of us have taken the initiative to heal our mother Earth. So, in this essay we will
see the causes, impacts and solutions measures for it.
Causes:
The main reasons include the greenhouse gases emitted due to various activities, this
greenhouse gases traps the solar radiation and absorbs sunlight, thereby trapping the heat and
making the plant hotter. These gases may last for centuries. The various greenhouse gases are
Carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrous oxide, methane, chlorofluorocarbons. These are
released due to vehicle emissions, incomplete combustion of fuel, burning of coal, usage of
refrigerators and air conditioners. Industrial development and agriculture have also led to the
emission of CO2 and methane that constitutes the greenhouse gases. Also, various natural
causes of global warming include Volcano eruption, forest fires and melting permafrost.
Effects:
There are various vast effects that causes major threats to our Earth some of the impacts
include: Temperature rise – this leads to the melting of glaciers in the polar regions. This
melting of glaciers causes the rise in the sea level, which severely affects the coastal regions.
Climate changes - Global warming has led to a change in climatic conditions. There are
droughts at some places and floods at some. Loss of natural habitat – The global change in
the climate has led to the loss of animals and plants. Also, due to an increase in floods,
tsunamis and other natural calamities, the average death toll usually increases. There are also
various economic consequences. Various natural calamities are also caused due this global
warming which possesses threat to the ecological society and economical ones too.
Solutions:
Renewable energies can be used in every way which can be done like usage of renewable
sources like solar, wind and biogas reduces the production of energy produced through
conventional way of production thereby reducing the emission of greenhouse gases. Also,
electric vehicles can be used to reduce the emission produced by burning of fuels that causes
emission carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide. Reducing the consumption of energy and
water is another way this can be done by used LED lights. Usage of public transportation also
drastically reduces the emission of carbon dioxide. Refraining from the usage of geysers, air
conditioners and refrigerators. Encouraging better use of natural resources, stopping massive
deforestation as well as making agriculture greener and more efficient should also be a
priority. Afforestation is a major activity decreases global warming. Adopting responsible
consumption habits is crucial. Last but not least, recycling is an absolute necessity for dealing
with waste.
Government has also taken various initiatives to control the global emission like the
Sustainable Development Goal plans and various other acts. But all these needs the
implementation of solutions at least by an extent and also the awareness of these to the
common public also plays a major role in controlling the global warming. Hence let us all
implement the change at every possible way we can for the better future.
