COURSE INFORMATION:
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course develops an initial level of proficiency in English, corresponding to the A1 Level
of the Common European Framework of references for languages. Students will develop
skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing to communicate and exchange information in
a simple way, using basic phrases and expressions.

IMPORTANT: This course final grade will be calculated as PASS or FAIL. To pass this
class, students must get a final percentage of at least 70%. Less than 70% (69.99% or less)
will result in FAIL.
EXAMS
There will be two exams. The Mid-Term exam and The Final Exam which will take place on
weeks 4 and 8 of the level.

Contributions during live sessions will be graded on a permanent basis and will reckon as
participation and classwork (15% of final grade).
Active contributions to class discussions and development of WORKSHEETS /
CLASSWORK DONE DURING CLASS (live sessions) will be considered for the participation
grade.

POLICIES:

Attendance to class is mandatory because of the classwork that students develop
during live sessions or presential lessons and because of the attendance component
required to pass the level. However, if you are unable to attend for any reason,
please inform the teacher ahead of time so that a solution can be arranged.
Homework and Classwork:
All work MUST be completed during class hours on the SAME day it is assigned.
Class is interactive, so participation is required.
