PDF or in Word Form.

The newly elected president of the Philippines, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.,
has been clearly driven by unity. It is one of his key pillars as he seeks the presidency. I
wasn’t shocked to hear him bring up unity in his inaugural address because he had
consistently advocated for unity. He consistently pursued that, which helped him gain
the majority’s trust. Our newly elected President has always been praised because of
his political background and his capability to lead the Filipinos. Among the 10
candidates in the 2022 Philippine presidential election, he was chosen. I noticed during
his inaugurational speech that he spoke more about his hopes for a better Philippines
with the help and support of the Filipinos. President Marcos Jr. knew that many Filipinos
were aware of his late father’s governance, but he still opted to run for the position. He
loved Filipinos and desired nothing but the best for his beloved countrymen and nation.
Filipinos couldn’t ask for more from a President who always considered the welfare of
his countrymen. As we all know, our votes become our voice in choosing candidates.
President Marcos Jr. said during his speech, “By your vote, you rejected the politics of
division,” it means that the moment we choose him as the president, we also overcome
the political division. President Marcos Jr. made it very clear that he wanted to bridge
the disparities in Filipino society. Before and during the election, we suffered from an
intense political division. In the middle of those adversities, President Marcos Jr.
continues to encourage all Filipinos to be more unified. He never throws hate at his
opponents but rather focuses on the positive outlook. He wanted us to be united, not
divided. We are one nation, one republic, and we should have been motivated by a one
goal. The goal is to make a better Philippines for the present and future generations.
President Marcos Jr. urged us to work with him. He said that we should
cooperate and participate in the government’s plans and ideas. He promised us that if
we worked more closely with them, the quicker the prospect of achieving our dreams for
the future would be. We wouldn’t get successful outcomes if we are not united. My
personal takeaway from this is that we should put more focus on building friendly
relations and rebuilding our nation. In order for the government to achieve our goal, we
should function as one. If Filipinos are divided, we won’t be able to build a better
Philippines. Nevertheless, I think that if Filipinos are united, we are stronger. That is why
all Filipinos should support the administration and not have a negative outlook toward it.
The President always highlights the importance of unity and how effective it is in
advancing us toward becoming a prosperous country. Even though we are cognizant of
the government’s goals for our nation, they will be ineffective if we just focus on the
negative things and refuse to assist them. If we yearn for unity, we should work hard
with the government.
I’ve noticed that throughout his speech, he consistently mentioned the Filipino
people and promised not to let down those who gave him the chance to lead and take
on the responsibility of being the President. For the welfare of Filipinos, he is more than
willing to do the task. Many of his opponents tried to discourage him, but he simply
disregarded them. He firmly believes that positivity, which helped him win, should be
complemented with unity. President Marcos Jr. also mentioned the previous leaders of
the Philippines in his speech. But he also emphasizes that we shouldn’t dwell on the
past, but rather put more effort into making the future better. We have learnt a lot from
the past so that we can avoid problems in the future, but that doesn’t imply we should
forget the past. He stressed that we should concentrate more on the present and future
and how we would rebuild the lost after the pandemic’s massive destruction. I was really
satisfied during his inauguration because he never lingers on the negative aspects of
things but constantly looks for the good. We will succeed as long as the government
and the Filipino people work collaboratively. He always considers us Filipinos to be the
catalysts for change and says we should fulfill our responsibilities. Filipinos should help
him and collaborate with him through better, more resilient, and adaptable methods. He
urged all Filipinos to serve as a gateway for the changes we need to make in order to
achieve peace and build a better, safer, and more productive nation.
