1. Is living abroad beneficial?

According to my way of thinking, living abroad can help, as well as bring a lot of benefits to…. The most
obvious of this is to learn a new language. Living abroad doesn’t always involve learning a language
because we may move to a country where our first language is spoken. However, if we move to a
country where our language isn’t spoken, then we’ll have to consider learning the language. Not only
does it show appreciation for the culture but it can benefit us in many ways. Learning a language can
open doors to new job opportunities, make you connect with people, improve your memory and the list
goes on. As if the first reason is not enough, a second reason is to develop cultural awareness. Living
abroad will heighten our awareness of the many fascinating cultures around us. If you live in a small
town, we’ll experience total cultural immersion; perfect for language learners. If someone is planning to
live in a metropolitan city like Munich or Rome, they’ll come across a multitude of languages on the
streets. Having a mix of local and international friends will also introduce you to new music, local
cuisines, foreign movies or shows, and so much more. We’ll even uncover some interesting cultural
habits and find out just how true those stereotypes are or aren’t. For instance, in Germany almost every
video is dubbed and in Spain siestas are on their way out. Finally, when we live abroad, we can become
self-reliant and resourceful. When we live abroad, there’s a lot we need to do ourselves. You’ll have to
face new challenges, bureaucracy, deal with homesickness, manage budgets, etc. There’s no doubt we’ll
have hundreds of questions. How do we pay taxes here? Or even simple things like how do we change
the lightbulb? Even though we might not have all the answers at first, you’ll be surprised at your
resilience and resourcefulness. Doing things yourself, things that we never thought you could do
yourself or manage alone –– let alone in a foreign environment –– will make you realize that we got this!
The new skills that we develop will make us feel strong and our self-confidence will skyrocket. We’ll feel
prepared for anything that comes our way. For the essential reasons given there, I believe that live
abroad is a good chance.

2. Do young children need their own cell phones?

From my own point of view, children should not be allowed to have their own cell phones. The most
obvious for this is to be affected mental health. Children on social media may come in contact with
cyber bullies who harass and bully them over the internet. Many children who have been cyber-bullied
may only admit their experience much later in life when the mental damage has already been done.
Social media may also induce depression and anxiety when the kids are not given the online attention
they expect. As if the first reason is still not enough, the second reason is that children using their own
cell phones can get bad academic performance. Many children carry phones along with them to their
schools. Chatting with friends or playing games during school breaks, or even in the class, is increasing
day by day. This results in children failing to pay attention in class, missing out on important lessons, and
consequently, being clueless about studies and examinations. Finally, when children use cell phones too
much can cause academic malpractice for them. Smartphones not only distract children from studies
but may also be their tool of malpractice to score well in exams. Using the inbuilt calculator in exams
where it isn’t allowed, storing photographs or reference information to cheat in the examination, or
even exchanging answers with other students over chat during the exam, have been widely observed in
various schools. Such behavior not only affects academic performance but also results in personality
issues. For all these reasons given there, I strongly believe that children should not have their own cell
phones.
3. Should students have to take an entrance exam to enter a college or university? Why or why
not?

In my point of view, I believe that the entrance examination is an important part of evaluating
students for studying college programs for the following reasons. Firstly, the entrance examination
should be commendatory to classify the levels of students. When the students enter the same majority,
it will be easier for them to study and improve because they all have the same rudimental knowledge.
Accordingly, those students who have the same dream jobs will make a great effort to enter the colleges
they would love to. The second reason why entrance exams to the university should still remain is
because it will save a lot of money for the government as well as the student’s families. The students
who get the standard scores can go to the state universities with low tuition fees. Moreover, in recent
two years in Vietnam, the minister of education has taken two exams one of which is the graduation
exam coupled with the entrance exam. This helps save the federal great sums of money as well as the
families do not have to spend much money and labor on taking their children to the testing place.
Finally, less often but far more important, the entrance examination is regarded as the first challenge for
the students who desire to go to the top or the state colleges. The students need to be mature enough,
study hard, and try their best to prepare for the exam. Sometimes, they need to be put under pressure,
such as from families, to create themselves a chance to cope with their problems. This will be the warm
up for their independent life in the future. For all these important reasons, I support that is is very
essential for students to have an entrance exam to enter university or college.

4. Should school last all year (12 months)? Why or why not?

In my own view, school last all year is not a good idea for both students and teachers in some ways.
Year-round school is a bad idea because it does nothing to combat summer learning loss, and it takes
away summer break which is an important part of having a healthy childhood. The summertime is
necessary for the healthy development of children. Students like to spend their summer vacation by
attending many extracurricular activity classes, going to youth camps, working out, or going to the pool.
These activities are crucial to remaining healthy and are not possible during school time. Summer
vacation time is a stress-free time free from the burden of studies so the kids can groom themselves
with different activities and enjoy quality family time. Summer vacations are the time when students
love to do extracurricular activities. But students at a year-round school cannot enjoy certain outside
activities like summer sports teams or camps because of school timings. Year-round education School is
a bad idea because it not only makes it pointless to switch to year-round education, it also complicates
the lives of students, parents, and families as a whole who await summer vacation year long... During
the summer break, many students use this downtime to take up a summer job to help and support their
families. Taking away the extended summer break would take away this earning opportunity. Every new
year brings lots of hope and enthusiasm among the students. It gives students a chance to practice new
procedures, and learn new schedules. And also many new opportunities. Also, one more aspect of year-
round school is cost. The cost increases to run a school throughout the year-round. Along with teaching
staff, non-teaching staff, the school building, and transport mediums all will require more funds for
maintenance which will directly increase the burden on parents. All of these show that not only year-
round school is a bad idea and it is difficult to execute, also pointless and it just complicates the lives of
kids, parents, teachers, and families as a whole.

5. Is working and studying at the same time good for students? Why or why not?
In my judgment, I believe if students work and study at the same time is not a good idea. It would
affect their education, harm their health, and cause some social problems. Firstly, it affects a student’s
education if a student has a job. For receiving a good education, a student should spend a lot of time on
it, especially today, the knowledge is explored. So if a student wants to receive enough education, he or
she should spend the whole of their time on studying. If a student has to work while he or she is at
studying, it must occupy a lot of his time and limits the time spent on studying. Secondly, having a job
for teenage would hurt their health. Working is stressful from both mental and physical sides. To hold a
job, you should be on time as scheduled, have to finish assigned tasks, and to solve the problems that
come out with your job. Teenage has not become mature enough to endure this kind of pressure, thus it
may affect their health. Lastly, teenage working is not good for a community. The job positions are
limited for a society, if the teenage takes a part in job opportunities, some adults would lose their job.
Jobless adults may become alcoholic or depressed, which may harm their social stability. In conclusion, I
think that teenage has a job is not a good thing. Their education and health may be affected and also it is
harmful for a society because it may cause more jobless adults.

6. Video fake news:

One fake news I read was about the end of the world. This news spread widely all over the Internet, it
was so influential that even a small countryside like where I lived quickly became aware of it. The end of
the world is believed to be December 21, 2012, because the Mayan calendar stopped on that date. The
Maya tribe is one of the oldest tribes of the human race, so many people believe in this. At the
beginning of 2012, news quickly became the world's biggest concern about the end of the world. While
many people believe this to be true because there were many disasters that happened at that time.
Many scientists have proven this story to be completely fake, but no one believes them. The first time I
heard it, I completely dismissed it, I told everyone this was just a story with no scientific basis. My family
believes in it so much, even my mother took me out of school that day, and they bought a lot of food,
protective gear, and many other things. I tried to convince them, and prove to them that this is
completely fake. And December 21, 2012, passed normally, erasing negative thoughts about the end of
the world. Through that story, I learned that it is necessary to focus on finding information on the
Internet.
