Fiona Singleton is only eleven years old and she is already a brilliant pianist.

However,
she lives in a small flat that there is certainly no room for a piano. So, every single
day after school, Fiona rides the bus across town to see her aunt, whose grand piano
is always available to her. Sitting by herself in her aunt’s enormous living room, she
spends an hour concentrating on pieces she needs to perform at her next concert. But
then she stays for another hour and plays together with her aunt, who has a
successful career as a top concert pianist. Fiona dreams that she will one day lead a
life just like her aunt’s, but of course in her dreams, she is the best pianist in the whole
wide world!

Natural Talent?
Do some people have natural talent that they are born with (21 ) .. or.. is it a case of
working hard and making the most of what they've got? Professional sportsmen and
women are ( 22)... a ... good example. Certainly there are those ( 23).. who ... have
shown a natural ability at a very young age. However, this will not lead (24)... to ...

determination and a desire to be the best. Then there is the idea of hard work. If you

PHOTOGRAPHER
Local photographer, Alison Willis, is going to have anexhibition of her work here in
Oxford. Ms. Willis’ photographs will be on display next month in the Museum of Modern
Art for two weeks and I advise you 21 _not_to miss it. Alison became interested 22
__in_ photography several years ago 23 ___when___ she was working as a tourist
guide. Now she 24 ____spends___her time searching for perfect images of the

Dear Anna and Peter,
It's been almost a month since my birthday, so it's time to thank you for the lovely book
you sent me. It was really kind of you! I've already started reading it. I love learning
about different countries and this book really made me interested in the Mediterranean.
It has a warmer climate than ours, and the countryside is green and hilly.
Do you have any plans for the summer? Perhaps we can meet some time. I hope to

Dear Sir/Madam,
I recently went with some friends to your restaurant to celebrate my birthday. I have to
say that the experience was very disappointing. First of all, the service was very slow
and one of the waiters was rude to us. When we asked him for help, he simply
repeated what was on the menu. In addition, when the food finally came it was cold
and undercooked. Finally, the bill was too high because we were charged for some
food and drink that we had not ordered and did not receive. I can assure you that we
will never visit your restaurant again and we will definitely not recommend it to
