Performance Task 2
Direction: Show that you learned something by doing this activity. Please observe the proper use of tools for your
safety.
Note: Before submitting the output, wrap it using a paper and write your name outside. Please be guided by the
criteria of the scorecard presented below.

Materials

• T-shirt 100% cotton (old/new) (preferably light-colored shirt)

• Pattern (You may create your own pattern)
• Embroidery hoop (use any available material to stretch the shirt) (if unavailable, you can still do embroidery task but
make sure to maintain a decent level of tension on your fabric to prevent it from puckering and clumping)
• Embroidery floss/thread (you can use any color available)
• Needle
• Scissors
• Pencil

Procedures:

1. First, pick a shirt to embellish. A 100% cotton shirt works best.

2. Draw your selected pattern on the shirt using pencil.
3. Secure the shirt using your hoop. If you find the shirt too floppy, adjust the
corners using a bit of thread.

4. Use small stitches when working on stretched fabric so that there's less
puckering of the fabric around the stitches.
5. Split stitch to decorate the shirt. (Other stitches may use defending on your
choice)

6. Once you've finished stitching, trim the excess threads from around your
stitching. Carefully removed it to avoid any damage on the part of your stiches.
