With respect to acrylic thickeners, Viscolam PS 102 gives the system a much stronger and less shear sensitive associative structure. At the same time, the thickening power is strongly dependent by the nature and size of latex particles, chemical nature of the surfactants and co-solvents in the formulation. Viscolam PS 102, is specifically suitable for glossy water thinnable enamel paints, lacquers, etc. where, in combination with traditional natural or polyacrylic thickeners, gives the system better flow-ability, levelling and antispattering.
