DAILY LESSON LOG IN ENGLISH 7

(DAY 2)

I. OBJECTIVES

A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of: pre- colonial Philippine
literature as a means of connecting to the past; various reading
styles; ways of determining word meaning; the sounds of English
and the prosodic features of speech; and correct subject-verb
agreement.
B. Performance Standard
The learner transfers learning by: showing appreciation for the
literature of the past; comprehending texts using appropriate
reading styles; participating in conversations using appropriate
context-dependent expressions; producing English sounds correctly
and using the prosodic features of speech effectively in various

2. Motivation Before we proceed with today’s lesson, let’s first have an activity.

WHEEL OF FORTUNE

The teacher will share her screen and SPIN THE WHEEL of the online
random name picker (https://www.randomnamepicker.net/spin-
wheel) with the names of her students. The lucky student will look at
their cell phone and share to the class what was the last video he or she
watched. This will continue for at least three tries.

The teacher will show different viewing materials (movie clip, trailer,

Task: Group together the pictures with the same genre. Once the
pictures are sorted out, study carefully and decide what common
features are observed to these pictures. Complete the table below for
your answer.

They will be given 5 seconds to write their answers on the given manila

As we are surrounded by these things it is important to know to which


category or genre do, they belong.

Is a term for any category of literature or other forms of


art or Entertainment

GENRES OF VIEWING MATERIALS

Compilation or group of Materials designed to be seen, watched or


viewed.

Some of the Genres of Viewing Materials are

Movie Clips – a short video from a longer film or movie

Trailer – are selected group of scenes that are selected to advertise a


movie. It is often called a preview

News Flash – is a single item of important news that is

being broadcasted separately and often interrupts other

programs

Weather Report – is a systematic statement of the existing

and predicted weather conditions over a specific area

Internet Based Program – a program that is informative and

can be discussed through websites

Documentary – is a movie, a television, or radio program

that is based on actual records or reports

Video – is a digital recording of an image or set of images
