PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

CELEBRANT:

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Today, we celebrate with exultant hearts the thanksgiving of his servant, Rev. Fr. Ricky Venteroso Lasap
for the blessed gift of holy priesthood conferred upon him by God’s mercy. It is the greatest gift given to
us because a nation with priests is a blessed nation. It is the triumph of Jesus, the joy of his priest and the
consolation of his holy people. We join our spirits as we praise God the Father through his Son Jesus, the
Eternal High Priest.

R. Overflow us with your graces, Lord.

1. For the Supreme Pontiff, Pope Francis, Most Reverend ______________________ Bishop of the Diocese of
______ , the Military Ordinary most Rev. Oscar Jaime L. Florencio, and all bishops, that the Holy Spirit who
descended on the apostles may continue to enlighten and guide them in shepherding God’s holy people. Let us
pray to the Lord
2. For all priests, particularly for Rev. Fr. Ricky Venteroso Lasap, that they may continue to have a heart
burning with zeal for the glory of Jesus and the salvation of souls and remain steadfast in their resolve to die for
Christ at all costs. Let us pray to the Lord
3. For the youth, may the Lord call many to the priesthood and religious life so that the world may not lose the
grace of seeing the living signs that lead to eternal realities. May the grace of this Holy Mass inspire them to
give up everything for the sake of his call. Let us pray to the Lord
4. For Mrs. Vilma Lasap, the siblings, relatives and friends of our newly ordained priest, may their generosity
and loving sacrifices be rewarded with blessings from heaven. Let us pray to the Lord
5. For the benefactors and those who supported our newly ordained priest on his journey to priesthood may be blessed
more abundantly by God who is never outdone in generosity. Let us pray to the Lord.

6. For the entire military academy of the Philippines and all the soldiers, men and women in uniform who serve
our nation, may the Lord bestow on them and their loved ones, a deep love for humble service and fidelity to
truth, to peace and unity and be always protected from the snares of the evil one. Let us pray to the Lord
6. For all of us present in this sacred celebration, may our souls be anchored in the mercy of God as we face the
various challenges that beset our world in this time of pandemic, threat of wars, global environmental crisis,
fragmentation in the values of family life and the watering down of Christian values in exchange of the
ephemeral and transitory things. Let us pray to the Lord
7. For those who have died particularly for Rogelio Lasap may rejoice forever in the company of Mary and the
saints. Let us pray to the Lord
CELEBRANT:

Lord God, we bless you for having given us the graces we need for our salvation. May the grace of
priesthood that you have given to our brother be a strong sign of hope for the weary and a radiant light
for those who walk in the darkness of faith. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son, in the
unity of the Holy Spirit one God forever and ever. Amen.
