    V. Rationale:
    In response to DepEd’s advocacy for Hamon: Bawat Bata Bumabasa (3Bs
    Initiative) through the DepEd Memorandum No. 173, s.2019, Sampaguita High
    School is continuously taking its part in developing students’ reading skills both
    in Filipino and English. Spearheaded by the Filipino and English Department, the
    school’s Reading Programs called SAGIP and HUGRIPE are providing reading-
    related activities and remediation classes that will help students achieve optimum
    academic performance. One of the essential factors for the success of this
    initiative is the provision of enough space that will serve as the Reading Center of
    the school. Reading Center allows small groups of students to practice literacy
    skills with hands-on activities thus, making reading a fun and worthwhile
    learning experience.
