Literacy, a core subject of SHS learners that
introduces basic understanding of media and
information as a channels of communications
and tools for the development of individuals
and societies as a responsible users and
competent producers of media and
information.

MEDIA
- These are physical objects used to
communicate with, or the mass
communication through physical objects
such as radio, television, computers, film,
etc.

- are communication tools or outlets used to


store or deliver information.

INFORMATION
- facts provided or learned about a certain
subject, situation or event.

- a broad term that covers processed data,


knowledge derived from study, experience,
instruction, signals or symbols.

LITERACY
- ability to identify, understand, interpret,
create, communicate and compute, using
printed and written materials associated with
varying contexts.
- involves a continuum of learning, wherein
individuals are able to achieve their goals,
develop their knowledge and potential, and
participate fully in their community and wider
society.

TYPES OF COMMUNICATION MODELS
❑Linear Communication Model - is a straight line
of communication, leading from the sender directly to
the receiver.

❑Transactional Communication Model - is the


exchange of messages between sender and receiver
where each take turns to send or receive message

❑Interactive Communication Model – is like the


Transactional Communication Model that take place
between humans or machines in both verbal or non-
verbal way

• The model describes an act of communication by defining who
